Nasty Plot Pecharunt is an effective balance breaker and check to strong physical threats like Okidogi and Cobalion. Hex and Malignant Chain combine to make a powerful STAB combo, but Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb can be used for more consistency and PP at the cost of some power. Air Balloon is chosen to let Pecharunt have an easier time spinblocking Excadrill, but Heavy-Duty Boots can be used if this is unnecessary, or Leftovers if Pecharunt is paired with entry hazard removal. Tera Fairy lets Pecharunt have an easier time against foes like Latios and Greninja, while Tera Ghost gives it a power boost and allows it to spinblock Excadrill without fear of a super effective Earthquake.
Pecharunt's best place is on hazard stacking teams as a spinblocker and sweeper that appreciates Spikes making up for its lack of immediate power. Good teammates for setting up entry hazards include Chesnaught, Greninja, and Sandy Shocks. All three can also threaten bulky Ground-types which usually give Pecharunt some trouble. Teammates that can patch up Pecharunt's only-decent Special Defense make for good pairings, such as Slowking and Tornadus-T. Teammates that can provide paralysis support like Serperior and the aforementioned Slowking can also make it easier for Pecharunt to get through the likes of Tornadus-T, Latios, and Toxapex.
