[SET]
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
name: Nasty Plot (Water)
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 144 HP / 112 Def / 164 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt / Discharge
- Stored Power
- Nasty Plot
- Substitute
[SET COMMENTS]
Substitute + Nasty Plot Rotom-W is a great wallbreaker for Water teams. By virtue of its Ground immunity thanks to Levitate and its part Electric typing, it eases the Ground, Water mirror, and Flying matchups. Thunderbolt threatens a multitude of metagame staples such as Corviknight, Skarmory, and Toxapex. Discharge, although having less power than Thunderbolt, has a decent chance to spread paralysis, potentially hindering setup attempts from the likes of Dragonite and Dragapult. Stored Power in conjunction with Nasty Plot allows Rotom-W to threaten Poison- and Fighting-types such as Clodsire, Amoonguss, and Great Tusk. Substitute allows Rotom-W to take advantage of passive walls like Toxapex and Swampert to set up a Nasty Plot. 144 HP and 112 Defense EVs allow Rotom-W's Substitute to withstand a Poison Jab from Clodsire, while 88 Speed EVs allow Rotom-W to outspeed Adamant Scizor.
Toxapex is a nice defensive partner for Rotom-W, as its Poison typing and natural bulk help against Grass-types such as Meowscarada and Ogerpon-H. In return, Rotom-W handles Ground-types that Toxapex struggles with like Great Tusk and Gliscor. Entry hazard support from the likes of Swampert and Hisuian Samurott helps Rotom-W wallbreak. Swampert also acts as a slow pivot, bringing Rotom-W in safely against Corviknight and Great Tusk, while Hisuian Samurott takes on fast Ghost-types such as Dragapult and Gholdengo. Choice Scarf users such as Keldeo, Greninja, and Urshifu-R act as speed control against speedy threats. Keldeo and Urshifu-R threaten Choice Specs Iron Moth, Roaring Moon, and Landorus, while Greninja threatens Iron Valiant, Enamorus, and Ogerpon-W. Primarina handles Dragon-types such as Latios, Gouging Fire, and Roaring Moon, and in return, Rotom-W handles passive Poison-types such as Toxapex and Clodsire. Lastly, Rotom-W's wallbreaking allows sweepers like Ogerpon-W to clean late-game.

Other Options
=============
Water
--------
Hydro Pump allows Rotom-W to threaten Fire- and Ground-types that would normally check it like bulky Gouging Fire and Excadrill. However, most of Rotom-W's teammates can handle said checks, so it is best for Rotom-W to have coverage against other types.
