Poipole is a cute Pokémon. And while it may come from out of this world, it’s stats certainly aren’t. When receiving a Poipole you’d usually just evolve it to get the ever so powerful Naganadel. However, for those of you looking to use this cute purple alien in a competitive scene, this is probably you’re best bet.

Nasty Plot allows for Poipole to boost its subpar special attacking stat of 73, allowing it to then deal out some damage. Sludge Bomb is Poipole’s main STAB as it has 90 base power and a 30% chance to poison the opponent. With the Sludge Bomb poison chance, Poipole can then use Venom Drench to lower the opposing Pokémon’s attack and speed presence, allowing it to set up more easily. Charm also works in this sense against strong physical attackers that have the potential to ruin Poipole’s day. Finally, Toxic can be used to constantly reduce the opponents health and help Poipole along the way. Last but not least, Hidden Power [Ice] is a nice move that gives Poipole coverage to defeat Pokémon it would normally lose to, including Sandlash, Golem & other strong Ground types (after a Nasty Plot boost).
