A sky-high Special Attack stat combined with powerful coverage moves boosted by Sheer Force and access to Nasty Plot makes Thundurus-T a dangerous wallbreaker, able to threaten many common special walls such as Empoleon, RegenVest Manaphy, and Roaring Moon. Focus Blast threatens an OHKO on Volt Absorb Empoleon and a 2HKO on Blissey, RegenVest Roaring Moon, and Hisuian Goodra. Psychic threatens an OHKO on Kommo-o, Great Tusk, and Iron Moth. Fast cleaners like Azelf and Hisuian Electrode appreciate Thundurus-T being able to pressure their walls like Empoleon and Hisuian Goodra, respectively, opening up the way for them to sweep late-game. Thundurus-T appreciates entry hazard support from the likes of Kommo-o, Garchomp, and Sandy Shocks letting it more reliably OHKO specially defensive Garchomp and Hisuian Goodra after a Nasty Plot. Thundurus-T is prone to being chipped down by Stealth Rock and put in KO range of strong priority moves from threats like Dragonite and Ceruledge, so hazard removers like Great Tusk and Corviknight are appreciated. Thundurus-T is also easily revenge killed by most Pokemon that are faster than it like Chien-Pao and Meowscarada due to its low bulk and middling Speed, so walls such as Manaphy and the aforementioned Corviknight that can take a hit for it and safely pivot it in are appreciated.
