Project National Dex OU: Break This Core (Week 59: Dragonite + Iron Crown)

The Mega Garchomp has destroyed the cursed core. This left the demons defenseless, resulting in thier exorcism.

You are very easily able to sub stall ursaluna by just going for leech first up and scouting for the tera, and also dont care for mola if u have a sub up. All of which was beautifully illustrated by me taking on my best friend, me!

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2085884387

Calcs:
252+ Atk Abomasnow-Mega Wood Hammer vs. 196 HP / 0 Def Ursaluna: 420-494 (93.3 - 109.7%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
60+ Atk Ursaluna Fire Punch vs. 4 HP / 88 Def Abomasnow-Mega in Snow: 200-236 (62.1 - 73.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Abomasnow-Mega Wood Hammer vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Alomomola: 362-428 (76.6 - 90.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

As a side note the defense and hp evs make it so if u go for the wood hammer roll on ursaluna from full because u felt like it, u never die to fire punch+recoil from full.

Edit: The speed evs are to outspeed ursaluna

Alomomola cant do literally nothing VS galarian weezing and with toxic is GG for him.

Ursaluna only can beat him with 3 crits in a row and weezing can curse+rest easly

60+ Atk Ursaluna Body Slam vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Weezing-Galar: 90-106 (26.9 - 31.7%) -- 38.5% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

60+ Atk Ursaluna Body Slam vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Weezing-Galar on a critical hit: 135-159 (40.4 - 47.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

60+ Atk Ursaluna Body Slam vs. +1 252 HP / 252+ Def Weezing-Galar: 60-72 (17.9 - 21.5%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery

If alomomola try wishpass ursaluna weezing can kill him with toxic and +6 play rough

Congratulations to Dabman1069 for winning this week of Break this Core!

Due to the number of submissions, I realized that this project is too easy. As a consequence I introduced a new rule: Pokemon that are B+ or higher on the current viability rankings are no longer allowed in submissions!

Our new core will be Banette-Mega + Alomomola!

:sv/Banette-Mega: :sv/Alomomola:

How will YOU break this core? Submissions end Friday!

Banette-Mega @ Banettite
Ability: Frisk
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Poltergeist
- Swords Dance
- Encore
- Destiny Bond

Alomomola @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Flip Turn
- Wish
- Toxic
- Protect

So be it.

Meowscarada @ Leftovers
Ability: Protean
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Knock Off
- Flower Trick
- U-turn

You are not 2HKO'd by poltergeist, you can taunt to prevent dbond and Encore, and you obviously win against mola with taunt+Flower trick

:sv/Gyarados-Mega:

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 84 HP / 192 Atk / 100 Def / 132 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Crunch
- Power Whip

Set Details:
Taunt into dd then crunching allows u to deal with M-banette without having to worry about dbond, with taunt completely shutting down alo and turning into setup fodder and it getting ohkoed by +2 power whip.
Hp and defense evs allow u to never be 3hkoed by M-banette, speed to outspeed said mon and with the rest just dumped into attack with an adamant nature for added power.

Calcs:
252+ Atk Banette-Mega Poltergeist vs. 84 HP / 100 Def Gyarados-Mega: 99-117 (28.1 - 33.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
+2 192+ Atk Gyarados-Mega Power Whip vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Alomomola: 524-618 (111 - 130.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Hydreigon @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Roost
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse

Most EVs dumped into HP and defence, as a +2 16 SpA Dark Pulse is still enough to OHKO Banette and 2HKO Alomomola, even without a boosting nature. No speed EVs still outspeeds 176 speed M-Banette.

Game Plan
Hydreigon taunts Banette, sets a Nasty Plot up, and dark pulses is. Taunt alomomola, and then remove it. Roost when necessary.

Calcs!
252+ Atk Banette-Mega Poltergeist vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Hydreigon: 91-108 (23.6 - 28%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

+2 16 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 80 HP / 0 SpD Banette-Mega: 492-582 (170.2 - 201.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 16 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Alomomola: 264-312 (55.9 - 66.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Psychic Noise

No item to be inmune to poltergeist and can substitute+toxic VS banette.

Dark type inmune to encore and toxic him.

If mola try beat substitute with flip turn need 2 hits for it

0 Atk Alomomola Flip Turn vs. 252 HP / 192+ Def Murkrow: 66-78 (20.3 - 24%) -- 2.7% chance to 4HKO

Psychic noise to beat wish and toxic until both dies.

This set dont need hit banette so can avoid Destiny bond and kill him with toxic. And vs mola only need toxic+subs+roost to beat him and psychic noise beat wish to PP stall

It's my first time posting around this part of the forums, but I guess I'll take a crack at this thing anyway.
I'll preface this entry with a warning: You probably absolutely shouldn't use this set anywhere, period. It does shred this very specific core, though, so I guess I have to give Bisharp some credit.

:sm/bisharp:
Bisharp @ Expert Belt
Ability: Defiant
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 Atk / 36 Def / 220 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Tera Blast
- Swords Dance
- Taunt

This thing eats Banette and Alomomola for breakfast. Taunt completely cripples Alomomola, but more importantly, it shuts down Banette's whole shtick by preventing it from using Destiny Bond again after it deactivates, giving Bisharp a free turn to set up for itself. After taunting Banette, Bisharp uses Swords Dance followed up by Knock Off on Banette for an easy KO. As for Alomomola, though, Bisharp will need to Terastalize for a guaranteed KO on the feesh. A surprise Tera on Bisharp's end allows our blade-wielding hero to gain a super-effective move against its fishy adversary in Tera Blast (Grass), allowing Bisharp to pick up a clean KO on the fish and dismantling the core.

The given EV spread allows Bisharp to outspeed Banette and always be 3HKOed by Poltergeist from full HP.
Banette Vs. Bisharp
252+ Atk Banette-Mega Poltergeist vs. 0 HP / 36 Def Bisharp: 114-134 (42 - 49.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Bisharp Vs. Banette
+2 252+ Atk Expert Belt Bisharp Knock Off vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Banette-Mega: 691-814 (239.1 - 281.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
And in case you were curious about what unboosted Knock Off does...
252+ Atk Expert Belt Bisharp Knock Off vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Banette-Mega: 346-410 (119.7 - 141.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Bisharp Vs. Alomomola
+2 252+ Atk Expert Belt Tera Grass Bisharp Tera Blast (80 BP) vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Alomomola: 557-658 (118 - 139.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
