can i play minecraft with u guys
1) Magearna is busted, but like not quite busted enough for me to be fully over the line with respects to its more defensive utilities that make it a welcome presence in the metagame. Kisspower Magearnas are dumb good matchup fishes and really hurt the competitiveness of the game but other sets don't have nearly as much of the competitive issues that Kisspower has by centralizing matchups whilst also trading away some of the flaws Kisspower sets have by making up for initial power or defensive utility. I'm definitely not as clear cast with this mon as I am with any other, but I think it 100% deserves a suspect once Spectrier, Mega Latias and Cinderace have been judged.
2) Funnily enough I haven't played a single Pokemon spinoff. If I were to go with what I've seen I'd probably say Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon / Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky though.
3) Major spoilers for Xenoblade 2 in bound. Get yourself a tissue, this one hurts emotionally.

1) Oh man this is gonna be long.
Kyurem - Specs is cool, SubRoost is overrated. It feels considerably better to just dish out heavy damage than hope for hax on the EP / Freeze-Dry front because it's easily possible for your opponent to get the upper hand on you.
Volcarona - Not worth using unless it's some semi-stall. You can't really afford the slots for it otherwise imo
Zacian-C - Nerf Intrepid Sword and it's a good Pokemon. Strong as hell out of the ball but come on man Intrepid Sword is extreme overkill. Not a fan.
Mega Rayquaza - I actually enjoy this mon quite a bit, I just wish it didn't have the ability to hold an item whilst megaing so people would appreciate its defensive utility a little more.
Ultra Necrozma - Overdesigned but not as hilariously so as the Kyurems. Otherwise it's just a symptom of STAB Z move kills a thing. Nothing too big to say on this one tbh
Stickbug, Rick Roll - These are both the same meme it's just Stickbug is a more modern incarnation.

The Unowns - I got stickrolled. OK, but where's the best Unown, Unown-!?
2) I don't just think it's broken, it's blatantly uncompetitive by design. Just because it "can't get around Darks" doesn't mean it's balanced, GameFreak!
3) Staying at home for a week is cool, staying at home for *checks watch* 11 and a half months without meaningful social interaction is not.
4) Probably just spam Flyinium NP Torn + Megatar.
5) Heatran pressures stall very heavily so it's quite easy to lose your Mega Sableye / Gliscor to a small amount of chip even if Heatran has lost its Z. Teams are also somewhat designed around beating it so accounting for its weaknesses in prep will help you greatly against stall.
6) Get it outta here. Ban the hell out of this mon I am tired of getting Ronhaldino Soccer'd every time I see Zen-less Ace.
7) Yes, but I'm not the biggest fan of it given how mediocre Azu as a whole is.
8) Offensive pressure - you can very easily win first vs those sorts of builds. For the Zards, rocks pressure will help you stay alive vs them, and in the case of Mega Medicham, you can chip it around with Rocky Helmet / force it into uncomfortable prediction situations.

11) Linoone. It getting Extreme Speed shouldn't have been a thing IMO - it just tears down the lower tiers and forces people to determine whether Screens is the actual issue or not.
12) Pex is a cool pivot but it's not particularly a fan favourite of mine. Overall opinion is neutral.
1) It doesn't mean a damn thing I just thought it sounded cool as a kid.
2) It is an upside down, colour inverted portrait of Larcei, ripped from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. I used to be obsessed with Swordmasters but it turns out Larcei is just mediocre in FE4 because she accidentally loaded into the most Horse Emblem of the games.
3) As stated, Linoone.
1) 6. Can be infuriating if they have not Aura coverage but doesn't pop up too often doing that, it just messes with tourprep unfairly.
2) 7 or 3 - 3 has good principles in its metagame design and I never really feel like progress is difficult to get in ADV. SM is also a very similar gen for me, but it values creativity over consistency which is a tradeoff I am OK with making.
3) 10 and a half holy shit this mon is so annoying.
Gonna have to decline on an agreement here. My experience in ND UU is quite small to ND OU but I feel like both have problems with imbalance. ND OU is the fault of a few problem Pokemon whilst ND UU is more the problem of a lack of defensive counterplay in general. If one thing's for sure though both of you need to ban Spectrier asap lmao

What do you do outside of Smogon?
i'm about to enter my final year of high school, i don't really know what i want to do at uni. pokemon is one of my main hobbies but i also follow afl & f1, sometimes like to cook. that's pretty much it lol
What are you most known for within the National Dex community?
probably for winning the ladder tour & team tour as well as playing in ndpl, i recently joined the tiering council as well
How did you get into National Dex?
similar to a lot of people, i didn't really like ou at the start of the generation & wanted to play w/ the mons that got removed. i found it fun (after dmax got banned) so it stuck i guess
How do you feel about the state of the National Dex metagame right now? any potentially problematic pokemon?
spectrier is pretty obviously broken and gear deserves a suspect imo. i still haven't made my mind up completely on cinderace, but i'm leaning ban
As a new National Dex council member, is there anything you're going to push for more?
idt there's anything potentially broken that hasn't been brought up. it will be interesting to see how the metagame develops if spectrier / ace / gear / lati get banned
Are there any pokemon that you think aren't rated enough / are rated too highly?
teaming w/ chazm in ndpl made me realize how good melmetal is, it's one of the best breakers in the tier imo & barely anything switches into it safely. i also think lele is another underrated breaker, it's v good vs a lot of common defensive cores i see. as for overrated things, zard y, idk how popular it has been recently but it requires so much support to function effectively in my eyes, not worth nearly every time
What's your favorite pokemon & favorite kind of team to use in National Dex?
clef is very versatile & offers so much utility so most of my teams end up having it. balance is my favourite playstyle, i like playing with multiple wincons & it's more forgiving than bulky offense

1. kyurem: awesome, haven't played bw2 but i'm thinking of doing so after i finish my current bw playthrough
volcarona: cool team, you could probably use it with a few adjustments after spectrier gets banned
latios: nice and chill, can't relate bc i've never played oras though
latias: this is actually pretty good
mega rayquaza: not bad, but i can't say i'm a huge fan
ultra necrozma: can't say it's that accurate either competitively or logically, but fun watch
stickbug: idk what else i was expecing
rickroll: same as above. you should maybe try to hide these, it'd probably work given how many links there are t.t (e: nvm lol)

2. sure, idk if they'll have as much time as i did but it was fairly enjoyable for me
3. i thought fire spin hp ice was absolutely hot in ag half a year ago. if you want an answer for ou, i think 3 attacks z steel taunt is cool, nature power w/ grassy or electric terrain is very satisfying to pull off
4. i'll use the team i provided as an example, max spdef haze pex should be able to 1v1 fairly easily if it's healthy enough, there's trick gear in the back as well and scarf lando can pivot in on non-id variants and threaten gear out (if screens have been stalled out and enough chip has been gotten)
5. classic > festive > dark, although i was a smogon dark man for a while
1. it's pretty difficult to check even 90% of the meta in 6 mons making it even more matchup reliant than before, i think teams will be limited to ho, bo and stall in the next ag snake but it'll be interesting to see

Well outside of smogon I go to school and do yknow normal teen stuff, hanging out w friends n stuff like that

Aside from being a room voice on ps I think people know me for being in the top 16 circuit, my team building and some other tour accomplishments like going pretty far in the fall ssnl and being on the winning ndpl team
How did you get into National Dex?
Well like most people I absolutely despised the ss ou meta so I kinda quit playing mons for a while, however I heard on YouTube (mightve been an aim video?) about the natdex tier, it sounded cool so I tried it out on ladder n enjoyed it a ton, eventually i joined the room n talked to some peeps and i was really having fun playing the tier and interacting with the community so I did it more
What do you like the most about the format and community?
Well for the format I enjoy how it's like ss ou without the bad stuff, megas and z moves are gimmicks I really enjoy playing with so being able to play with them are really fun, but I also like the stuff that ss added like the new Pokémon and heavy duty boots or the rapid spin buff n of course the new trs that give old mons new viability with better movesets. As for the community I really like how basically everyone is friends, it's really fun hanging out with everyone and talking about new sets and other things going on, tbh it feels less like a community and more like a big group of friends and I really enjoy that feeling

Hate the meta rn, quite literally unplayable. If It wasn't for tours n stuff I would be staying away from ND like it was the plague rn. The biggest problem is how Matchup dependent the tier is, 90% of games are won on team preview because of how hard checking every threat in the tier is, the biggest problem mon rn and only one I'll mention is spectrier because of how ridiculous it is, you straight up need a tyranitar in every team to not lose to np z-hyper beam on preview, I absolutely despise building teams in a meta with spect.

Well I've been on the rilla to a- crusade for a while, stupid strong mon in the current meta. Moltres is also p underrated ime. https://pokepast.es/df8b12bdf4f8ab1c this is a team I built with the main concept of "use mons im comfortable with", ashgren with future sight support is ridiculous and it can bait in blissey real easy and i could profit off of said blissey switch by clicking uturn into my garchomp for free rocks, slowbro is an amazing pivot and giving up my boots for the megastone can really turn the tide on certain games, zarude is an amazing wincon and spectrier check meanwhile moltres can punish the uturns this team is very weak too, mage is just another breaker that can cripple alot of mons with trick. It's also nicknamed after openings and endings from my favorite anime so it's just that extra but more special to me, overall this might be my favorite team I've ever built
