Natural Cure/ Sleep Clause question

So i had a match just now. Had breloom out, put his blissey to sleep and then he switched out to skarmory.

My question is: would sleeping the skarmory be in violation of the sleep clause? I mean, Blissey has natural cure. It couldve swapped back in totally awake. Tried googling it but couldn't find anything. Advice please!

This is for wifi right? Because in shoddy, the problem is solved automatically.

When you sleep his blissey, and you use spore again and he switches out, you are taking a risk. If his blissey has natural cure, yes, you'd be legal to use spore again. The thing is, if his blissey would have had serene grace, you would've violated the rule.

If you would do this on shoddy, the skarmory would not fall asleep automatically due to sleep clause if his blissey had Serene Grace. If it had natural cure, then the skarmory would've been put to sleep.

So it's usually smarter not to spore in those situations on WiFi.

Next time put this kind of stuff in the Simple Question thread.

In WiFi you should be able to see the pokeballs of your opponent and see which ones are inflicted with status. Any good battler should be keeping track of the number of pokemon inflicted with a given status to make these calls. If Blissey switched out and the pokeball that was darkened indicating status returns to normal, you're free to Spore again. If it doesn't change after a switch then you can't use Spore again under sleep clause.
