Notes:
  • Kingambit retains its place as #1 in the meta.
  • All 5 Diverges placed in the Top 15, with 3 in the Top 5.
  • All 5 Adapts rose in the ranking, with Crabominable shooting straight into the Top 5. Eelektross had the smallest improvement, but it was still enough to escape the Bottom 10.
  • Of the non-Adapts, Munkidori, Volcanion, and Haxorus were the largest risers.
  • The biggest non-Extinct fallers include Pangoro, Hawlucha, Slurpuff, and Ceruledge
  • All of the Slate 0 Top 5 (except Kingambit) fell in the rankings, with Slurpuff and Ceruledge falling especially far. This could be because players gravitate towards using the new Diverged versions of those pokemon.

Heya metagame discussion post here rather than announcement, just gonna talk about aspects I like and dislike about the meta so we can expand on the good aspects and try to help with the bad ones in the slate. This is mostly just gonna be a list of what I find cool and lame though, but I feel like that's kinda what we're aiming for.

:sv/kingambit::sv/iron hands::sv/crabominable:
Setup Breakers
I really like that our breakers don't tend to rely on raw power and generally need to setup to pose a threat. This makes them more nuanced to play around, allowing you to use status moves or to risk staying in at times, rather than getting obliterated by choiced moves as tends to happen in certain metagames. In general, I think we should aim at making choiced options riskier and promoting options that rely more on smart or long-term like we are currently going for.

:sv/kingambit::sv/iron hands::sv/bouffalant::sv/dugtrio:
Bulky Offensive Mons
In a similar vein, I like that we have offensive mons that also have the bulk and resistances to help handle certain threats, at least short-term. Similarly, we also have bulky mons like Bouffalant and Muk that are quite capable of applying pressure. I think this kind of nuance is, once again, quite nice as it expands teambuilding options and leads to teams being able to soft-check most of the meta better than if mons were all-out offensive or fully defensive.

:sv/kingambit::sv/crabominable:
Good Priority Options
I appreciate that we have not only good but powerful priority moves available that help keep offensive threats in check when defensive mons aren't up to the task, once again making teambuilding a bit more lenient with the kind of threats you can afford weaker matchups into. It does also mean that it's hard to make certain sweepers work particularly well though, so it's a bit of a double-edged aspect of the meta.

Mostly just gonna be listing specific mons here that I think would be nice to have extra help against to make playing against them feel more interesting.

Iron Blimp
I think this mon is kind of just uninteractive. It deals very little damage itself, but offensive mons don't like going up against it cause it's got great bulk, reliable recovery and can cripple them with Knock Off, Paralysis or just pivot on them. Furthermore, attempting to setup on it to break through it using mons like Kingambit or Iron Hands, our go-to bulky breakers, they'll just end up getting Encored. It's not particularly difficult to play against, but it sure feels tedious. As it stands, our best ways to force damage against it is with Dugtrio, Crabominable or other Rock-types, else you have to go into your defensive mons. It would be nice to have something that can play against what Iron Blimp does, using options like Taunt and Toxic or just generally not minding Knock Off or Paralysis too much. Seeing as our setup options are also rather on the slow side right now, something a bit faster would also be better equipped to deal with Encore.

1727760664404.png

Dragaplunge
This kinda goes back to the idea of setup breakers I pointed out as a positive earlier, Dragaplunge kinda goes against a lot of that as Specs is just very easy to use. I mostly just think we need more splashable Water-resists and this becomes fine, our tools to deal with Draco Meteor are extremely good and other sets are far from as difficult to deal with. If we make its clicks on Specs sets harder to figure out, then we should have a pretty nice mon to deal with.

:sv/crabominable:
Crabominable
I just have one issue with this mon being that priority spam at +2 is a bit hard to deal with. I realize we have Ceruledge and Fushimmer who are both alright into it, but I think a lot of our mons currently are either slow or frail which makes Crabominable much more threatening than it otherwise would be. Even just one more offensive mon with decent bulk and like 80 Speed would make this feel a bit easier to deal with. As it is, I found it can get some kinda cheap wins off of just one boost at times, one of the few mons that I felt didn't lead to very interesting games.

:sv/victreebel::sv/hawlucha:
Poor alternative playstyle options
I think, as it is, most teams are kinda forced into a BO/Balance idea and I think this is in part due to poor abusers/setters of certain conditions. For example, Sun is present, but good luck getting much done when your abusers are Victreebel and Typhlosion. We also have certain mons that would appreciate something such as Electric Terrain like Hawlucha and Iron Hands, but can't because trying to set it up just won't work out. I think the potential for more unique and varying playstyles is there and we need to work towards it.

:sv/eldegoss::sv/mandibuzz:
Limited hazard removal options
Our current hazard removal options are both limited and also rather poor, relying on passive mons like Iron Blimp, Mandibuzz or Eldegoss or mons that are generally just poor in the role like Hawlucha. More Rapid Spinners especially would be nice, but obviously Defog is also useful.

tldr: Keep Kingambit as the best mon in the meta, try to diversify typings, playstyles and hazard removal though.

Low Tier Poll Results:
:hawlucha: 1 - 11 :jellicent: (y'all really want to buff jellicent lol)
ADAPT: :mandibuzz: (3.583) :barraskewda: (3.667) :victreebel: (3.667) :pangoro: (4.333)
EXTINCT: :minior: (4.583) :uxie: (5.333) :crustle: (5.50) :orbeetle: (6.833) :pyroar: (7.50)

Truly, Minior was robbed.
And with that, Slate 1 is complete! Only took like, ten months.

One update before moving on: Submission phases will be split between Adapt and Diverge mons (just because council is busier than before to manage 10 different mons and all their subs at once). Playtesting will still start once both groups' submissions are finished, though.

SLATE 2 ADAPT - Jellicent, Mandibuzz, Barraskewda, Victreebel, Pangoro
:sv/jellicent: :sv/mandibuzz: :sv/barraskewda: :sv/victreebel: :sv/pangoro:
- Jellicent is a pretty good bulky water into stuff like Dragaplunge and Crabominable, but the meta is quite hostile to it right now, what with popularity of Dark-types and Iron Hands/Blimp.
- As mentioned in Mossy Sandwich 's post, Mandibuzz is one of the few current hazard removal options, but due to its passivity and bad matchups into new mons, it hasn't been doing too well.
- Barraskewda had a good performance back in Slate 0, but has been pretty much completely shut out from the meta by Dragaplunge. Perhaps an adjustment is exactly what it needs to get back into the limelight?
- Fushimmer's access to Drought has heavily incentivized sun playstyles, but when one of your best abusers is Victreebel, it's hard to make a competent team. The choice is yours whether Vic should stray away from or lean into Chlorophyll and general sun shenanigans.
- Pangoro also saw usage in Slate 0 as role compression as a bulky Fighting with utility in Knock and Parting Shot. However, its traits aren't as valuable now against the best mons as they were before.

Group B Sub Restrictions -
  • Add/Remove/Change one Type
  • Add/Replace up to two abilities
  • Base Stats; +15 to a single stat a/o +30BST max
    • Stat Floor Rule: If a Pokemon's BST is below 500 (after the allotted +30), you can add additional points up to 500 BST. Base stat cap increases by 5 for every 10 additional points past 30 given.
  • Up to 5 move additions, 8 if you also changed typing for new STABs (you may remove as many moves as you'd like for balancing)
Name:
Type:
Abilities:
Stats:
Movepool Changes:
Explanation: Explain how the changes help the Pokemon in the current meta.
(note: attributes in this template you do not change can be omitted in the sub)
Notes:
- You may now change as many aspects of a Pokemon as you'd like. The restriction to change three of type, stats, ability, and moves was in place mainly so that submissions don't stray too far from the original mons, but it's pretty minor and tedious to check to make sure subs are following it (I'm pretty sure there were like, multiple winning subs that broke this rule lol), so we're just axing it.
- Stat floor rule does not apply to any mons this slate. That BST better not have increased by more than 30!!

Submissions will be open until Sunday, October 6th @ Midnight. Have fun everyone!

Name: Mandibuzz :mandibuzz:
Type: Dark/Flying
Abilities: Rough Skin/Overcoat | Weak Armor
Stats: 110/80(+15)/105/55/95/95
Movepool Changes: + Earthquake, Bulk Up
Explanation: having no abil is kinda ass tbh. Generating options in rough skin to deal with gambit and pult by chip is nice. Additional attack and speed allow Mandi to utilize knock turn more effectively. Having bulk up also benifits non Defog sets by a lot

Name: Barraskewda :Barraskewda:
Type: Water/Fairy
Abilities: Swift Swim | Propeller Tail
Stats: 76(+15)/123/60/60/75(+15)/136
Movepool Changes: Play Rough, Dazzling Gleam, Rapid Spin, Misty Explosion, Misty Terrain, Charm
Explanation: fuck pult and that dumbass pult clone. More offensive fairies helps deal with the many many dragon spam that is going around

Name: Jellicent :Jellicent:
Type: Water/Steel
Abilities: Water Absorb/Clear Body | Damp
Stats: 100/60/70/100/105/75
Movepool Changes: Flash Cannon, Iron Head, Steel Beam, Flip Turn, Body Press
Explanation: Water Steel is a way nicer defensive typing that deals with quite a few annoying mons in the meta, with added speed and spa so this doesn’t just get sat on. Use water spout lol !

Name: Pangoro :pangoro:
Type: Dark/Fighting
Abilities: Dazzling / Mold Breaker | Scrappy
Stats: 95/129(+5)/78/69/81(+10)/73(+15)
Movepool Changes: + Play Rough
Explanation: dazzling Mon bc I hate prio. Great scarfer into meta, although relying on parting shot can be questionable into gambit at times

Name: Mandibuzz
Type: Ground/Flying
Abilities: Thick Fat/Sand Force + Weak Armor
Stats: 110/80(+15)/105/55/95/91(+11) (total +21)
Movepool Changes: +Earthquake, +Stealth Rock, -Roost
Explanation: I know this looks like a Lando (and it indeed it definitely has some delilberate similiarities), but I legitimately think that such a mon would be good in this environment. Having a defensive answer to Blimp and a Hands answer that isn't Blimp I think would serve to diversify the defensive side of the metagame. I elected not to give it Intimidate because I didn't want this thing easily switching in to Kingambit every time when it already beats Hands.

Name: Jellicent
Type: Water/Poison
Abilities
: Water Absorb/Cursed Body + Poison Point
Stats
: 100/60/85(+15)/100(+15)/105/60 (total +30)
Movepool Changes: +Toxic (assuming we're going by the actual gen 8 movepool and disallowing transfer moves, I'm legitimately not sure if this has this in our meta)
Explanation: So Ghost is an actively bad defensive typing in the current metagame, given how Gambit is everywhere and offensive Ghost types are a concern. Fairy moves also lack very good switch-ins outside Aggron, and I overall felt a defensive Poison type might be a nice addition to the metagame - buffing its defense and keeping its type Fighting resistent ensures its ability to take on fighting types remains somewhat relevant. Access to Toxic means that it has something to click on Blimp, too.

I didn't really love the defensive portion of the metagame so I elected to give Mandibuzz and Jellicent buffs that work towards a diversification + mons that aren't Iron Blimp.

Cripplingly Passive no more.
Name: Mandibuzz
Type: Dark / Flying
Abilities: Big Pecks, Aerilate, Weak Armor
Stats: 115 / 65 / 105 / 65 (+5) / 95 / 95 (+15) | BST: 530 (+20)
Movepool Changes:
:plusle: Aura Sphere, Fiery Wrath, Focus Blast, Boomburst
:minun: Nasty Plot

Explanation:
Mandibuzz was always good at taking hits, and still is, even here, it just struggled to uh, do literally anything. This fixes that. All you really need to do to fix this is just throw on some scary uninvested firepower. Aerilate Boomburst is a drug, but a few factors limit it from becoming truly terrifying, it’s just enough to scare offensive mons off from sitting directly in front of it or getting a free sub. Additional speed helps it not have to invest in that department to dispatch things like speedy gambit, rookada and the like.

:sv/barraskewda:
Fuckin fish
Name: Barraskewda
Type: Water / Dark
Abilities: Swift Swim, Cloud Nine
Stats: 76 (+15) / 123 / 65 (+5) / 60 / 70 (+10) / 136 | BST: 520 (+30)
Movepool Changes:
:plusle: Play Rough, Spirit Break, Ice Spinner, Switcheroo, Knock Off

Explanation: Barraskewda is historically and near comically overreliant on its water moves and CC. Here’s the easiest fix to this issue. Because of how common Sun is, barraskewda often finds itself being incredibly matchup fishy, this change to give it access to cloud nine gives the mon an incredible niche outside of rain as weather counterplay. Dark typing gives it a good secondary STAB, and lets it deal with kingambit in a 1v1 scenario. Overall just shores up skewdas flaws, gives it new advantages and just improves the mon.

:sv/Victreebel:
Here comes the sun
Name: Victreebel
Type: Grass / Poison
Abilities: Chlorophyll, Toxic Debris
Stats: 90 (+10) / 105 (+5) / 70 (+5) / 105 (+5) / 70 / 75 (+5) | BST: 520 (+30)
Movepool Changes:
:plusle: Earthquake, Mortal Spin, Earth Power, Gunk Shot, Fire Lash

Explanation: Vic has struggled for a while, here’s just a straight upgrade. New abil in toxic debris to make defensive sets viable, abusing strength sap and mortal spin, plus just a whole host of stat improvements across the board. As for actual weather abusing sets they got every improvement they could hope for. Better coverage on both ends, better offensive stat, better speed, better bulk to setup with. Nothing too insane of an increase, but just a good buff in every department. Mon fucks.

Name: Jellicent
Typing: Water/Ghost
Abilities: Water Absorb / Regenerator // Levitate
Stats: 100/60/85/100/105/60 (BST: 510) (+0/+0/+15/+15/+0/+0/+30)
Movepool Changes: (+) Aura Sphere, Focus Blast
Description: Jellicent has its bulk increased significantly which is important because of its lower Def which is now increased to 100/85/105 bulk which is really good. In fact, its shored up even more when you consider it has Strength Sap and WoW. It also has its SpA bumped up to 100 allowing much less passivity and Fighting coverage to hit Kingambit easily. Focus Blast is a guaranteed OHKO and Aura Sphere has a chance to OHKO with SpA investment. Jellicent had the unfortunate fact that it had no great abilities which it now does as Regenerator is fantastic as you would expect and Levitate gives it an immunity to non-SR hazards and allows it to stone wall Crabominable even more since now it can't even hit it with EQ. Ghost is a mixed bag in this meta due to Fighting-types being prevalent but Dark-types are just as if not more prevalent.

:sv/mandibuzz:
Name: Mandibuzz
Typing: Dark/Flying
Abilities: Poison Touch / Overcoat // Weak Armor
Stats: 110/80/105/55/95/95 (BST: 540) (+0/+15/+0/+0/+0/+15/+30)
Movepool Changes: (+) Beak Blast, Body Press, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance
Description: Mandibuzz gets a boost in offensive power to make it a much less passive mon. It also gets Poison Touch for an actually good ability since none of its abilities are worthwhile. Beak Blast and Body Press are the best new moves with BPress coming off of 105 defense combined with IDefense and Beak Blast is a strong Flying move that can burn those nasty special attackers. Sucker Punch is there to mess up Ghosts that are low on Hp. Swords Dance is just there in case you're crazy.

:sv/barraskewda:
Name: Barraskewda
Typing: Fire
Abilities: Strong Jaw / Leaf Guard // Propeller Tail
Stats: 76/123/75/60/50/136 (BST: 515) (+15/+0/+15/+0/+0/+0/+30)
Movepool Changes: (+) Bulk Up, Fire Blast, Fire Fang, Flame Charge, Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Solar Blade
Description: Uhhhhhhh, sun? Fire/Grass/Dark/Fighting/Ground/Water moves with increased bulk & Bulk Up/Flame Charge. Or just run Strong Jaw Fire Fang/Psychic Fangs/Crunch.

:sv/victreebel:
Name: Victreebel
Typing: Grass/Poison
Abilities: Chlorophyll // Gluttony
Stats: 80/105/70/115/70/80 (BST: 520) (+0/+0/+5/+15/+0/+10/+30)
Movepool Changes: (+) Fire Lash, Gunk Shot, Nasty Plot
Description: Physical and special sets both have huge benefits over each other. Special sets have 10 more SpA over physical sets, Weather Ball/NP/Solar Beam/Clear Smog/Energy Ball/Sludge Wave-Bomb/Leaf Storm. Physical sets have Fire Lash/Gunk Shot/Power Whip/Knock Off/SD/Leaf Blade/Sucker Punch. Both sides have Strength Sap/Synthesis/Morning Sun + Sleep Powder + Encore. Victreebel also has 80 Speed sleep move outside of sun.

:sv/pangoro:
Name: Pangoro
Typing: Flying/Dark
Abilities: Iron Fist / Mold Breaker // Water Bubble
Stats: 105/129/78/69/71/73 (BST: 525) (+10/+5/+0/+0/+0/+15/+30)
Movepool Changes: (+) Acrobatics, Brave Bird, Defog, Flip Turn, Hurricane, Liquidation, Roost
Description: :tymp:

Last edited:
Name: Jellicent
Type: Water/Electric
Abilities: Water Absorb / Levitate // Damp
Movepool Changes: (+) Discharge, Thunderbolt, Charge Beam, Thunder
Explanation: I believe this mon only needs a type change to be good, strength sap is already the best healing move, it can spread toxic and burns extremely easy aswell, Water/Electric is a really solid defensive typing alongside levitate letting it deal with blimp and hands decently well, while not getting hit by dark moves as hard, but its lower physical defense lets it still be manageable in the meta

:ss/victreebel:
Name: Victreebel
Type: Grass/Steel
Abilities: Chlorophyll / Sharpness // Dauntless Shield
Stats: 95(+15)/105/80(+15)/100/70/70 (BST: 520)

Movepool Changes:
(+): Ceaseless Edge, Dazzling Gleam, Heal Bell, Mighty Cleave, Rapid Spin, Secret Sword, Tachyon Cutter, U-Turn
(-): Acid Spray, Body Slam, Clear Smog, Sleep Powder, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Toxic

Explanation:
The changes should allow Victreebel to retain its ability to abuse Chlorophyll, while providing a niche in setting/managing hazards. Also Victreebel should now be less squishy physically, and has some coverage (Dazzling Gleam) to hit Dragons.

----------------------------------------------------------(THE BELOW ARE NEW SUBS!!!)----------------------------------------------------------

Explanation: Screen setter, but 2x SR weakness to keep it in check.

:ss/jellicent:
Type: Water/Grass
Abilities: Water Absorb / Protosynthesis / Chlorophyll
Stats: 100/60/70/100(+15)/120(+15)/60 (BST: 510)

Abilities: Swift Swim / Psychic Surge / Misty Surge
Stats: 76(+15)/123/69(+9)/60/50/142(+6) (BST: 520)

Movepool changes:
(+): Chilly Reception, Icicle Crash, Lunar Dance, Petal Blizzard, Photon Geyser, Rock Blast, Taunt, Wild Charge

Explanation: Psychic Terrain blocks priorities. And then gave it some random coverage because Barraskweda movepool is so shallow.

:ss/pangoro:
Type: Fighting/Dark
Abilities: Intimidate / Mold Breaker / Mirror Armor
Stats: 95/124/93(+15)/69/86(+15)/58 (BST: 525)

Movepool changes:
(+): Combat Torque, Head Smash, Rapid Spin, Splash, Sucker Punch

Explanation: This thing now Intimidate you. Mirror Armor can drop opponent speed every time you switch in if they use Slurpuff and set webs up.

Wow bumping a dead thread? smh you should know better bee...

Natural Selection is back!!! It's uh been a while huh. I'll be brief on the formalities and say that I missed this mod and have plenty of time over this summer to get the mod back on its feet and running smoothly - can't promise there won't be any more hiatuses, just that they won't last like half a year again, heh.

Slate 2B is reopened to add/adjust submissions. Any subs from before the hiatus remain valid (though they may still be vetoed). Submissions will close Tuesday night (6/24).
A reminder that the submissions are for :jellicent: Jellicent, :mandibuzz: Mandibuzz, :barraskewda: Barraskewda, :victreebel: Victreebel, and :pangoro: Pangoro. You can make submissions for as many mons as you like, and with these restrictions:
Group B Sub Restrictions - Your submission can change the following attributes of a Group B Pokemon:
  • Add/Remove/Change one Type
  • Add/Replace up to two abilities
  • Base Stats; up to +15 to an individual stat a/o +30BST
    • Stat Floor Rule: If a Pokemon's BST is below 500 (after the allotted +30), you can add additional points up to 500 BST. Base stat cap increases by 5 for every 10 additional points past 30 given.
  • Up to 5 move additions, 8 if you also changed typing for new STABs (you may remove as many moves as you'd like for balancing purposes)

(note: attributes in this template you do not change can be omitted in the sub)

Lastly, Natural Selection now has a spreadsheet! You can access it here or in the thread OP. The sheet is up to date except for mon extinctions from Slate 1's playtesting phase.

That's all for now - there are going to be changes to the Group D phase as well, but I won't elaborate on it until we get there. Happy subbing y'all!

Abilities: Chlorophyll / Grassy Surge / Gluttony
Stats: 80/120/75/100/75/70 [+15 ATK, +10 DEF, +5 SpD] (BST: 520)
Movepool Changes: +Gunk Shot
Explanation: Victreebel retains its role as a sun sweeper with buffed attack. However, it also gains a new role in the tier, setting Grassy Terrain. GTerrain Victreebel on its own functions like Rillaboom, setting up with Swords Dance and clicking Grassy Glide. Compared to Rillaboom, it trades a bit of power, speed, and bulk in exchange for a secondary STAB option in Gunk Shot/Poison Jab.

While Grassy Terrain Victreebel will probably be decent on its own, it will be at its best when supporting another pokemon on the brink of Extinction, Hawlucha. Hawlucha when paired with a Terrain setter, allows it to instantly proc Unburden with a Grassy Seed, enabling sweeps. GTerrain could also give Slurpuff a miniscule buff to its non-Belly Drum sets, allowing it to proc Unburden as well.

Movepool Additions: Aura Sphere, Electro Drift, Flamethrower, Moonblast, Ruination
Description: Jellicent gets Regenerator. I also gave it a bunch of odd coverage to play into the Energy Ball Jellicent meme. It also has Ruination, but I feel like Shadow Ball is generally more reliable.

:sv/mandibuzz:
Name: Mandibuzz
Typing: Dark/Flying
Abilities: Poison Touch / Overcoat // Weak Armor
Stats: 110 / 80 (+15) / 110 (+5) / 55 / 95 / 90 (+10) (BST: 540)
Movepool Additions: Beak Blast, Body Press, Sucker Punch
Description: Mandibuzz has several key problems: Its really passive and it has no great abilities. Poison Touch, Body Press, and +15 Att helps with passiveness problems and Poison Touch also helps with the bad ability problem. Beak Blast gives strong Flying stab while allowing the potential threat of burn. Body Press is a reliable way of giving a passive mon better offensive prowess. Mandibuzz also gets Iron Defense. Sucker Punch can be a surprise tool to pick off weakened Ghost-types.

:sv/barraskewda:
Name: Barraskewda
Typing: Water/Fire
Abilities: Swift Swim // Propeller Tail
Stats: 61 / 128 (+5) / 61 (+1) / 61 (+1) / 51 (+1) / 143 (+3) (BST: 501)
Movepool Additions: Ember, Fire Punch, Fire Spin, Knock Off, Play Rough
Description: Barraskewda naturally outspeeds Pult now, is slightly stronger, Knock Off, slots Fairy coverage for the dragons, and has an immunity to burn. The Fire-type only really gives a benefit in burn immunity and a potential second stab, but it does give it a Rock weakness, so be careful.

:sv/victreebel:
Name: Victreebel
Typing: Grass/Poison
Abilities: Chlorophyll / Fur Coat // Gluttony
Stats: 80 / 105 / 65 / 105 (+5) / 70 / 80 (+10) (BST: 500)
Movepool Additions: Calm Mind, Fire Punch, Gunk Shot
Description: Victreebel gets a slight speed boost as well as a better special presence. One thing Victreebel hated was having Poison Jab as its best Poison STAB while having no Special boosting as an alternative. Now Victreebel gets Gunk Shot for improved physical sets as well as CM to make special sets real. It also gets Fire Punch for physical Sun boosted moves, but special sides get Weather Ball which is stronger.

:sv/pangoro:
Name: Pangoro
Typing: Ground/Dark
Abilities: Sand Force / Mold Breaker // Storm Drain
Stats: 105 (+10) / 124 / 78 / 84 (+15) / 76 (+5) / 58 (BST: 520)
Movepool Additions: Dig, Earthquake, Earth Power, Meteor Beam, Nasty Plot, Scorching Sands
Description: Pangoro becomes another Ground-type, this time with a bulkier approach. Bouffalant is similar, but it has a Ghost immunity, Sap Sipper, Stealth Rock. Pangoro gets Storm Drain, Dark to beat up Ghost-types, and a better offensive typing.

Name: Jellicent
Type: Water/Fairy
Stats: 100/60/85(+15)/85/105/60 (495)
Movepool Changes: Draining Kiss, Teleport
Explanation: Becomes a stronger check to Dragaplunge, as well as flipping its matchup with Dark types on its head. Still struggles into Iron Hands and Iron Blimp.

:sv/mandibuzz:

Name: Mandibuzz
Abilities: Big Pecks / Overcoat / Queenly Majesty
Movepool Changes: Body Press
Explanation: Queenly Majesty lets it block (and thus switch in safely on) priority attacks. Body Press handles the most prominent priority users.

:sv/barraskewda:

Name: Barraskewda
Stats: 61/123/70(+10)/60/65(+15)/136 (515)
Movepool Changes: Explosion, Rapid Spin, Stealth Rock, Taunt
Explanation: Turning Barraskewda into a lead since there's not much to be done on the front of making it a better fast physical Water than
Dragaplunge.

:sv/victreebel:

Name: Victreebel
Stats: 95(+15)/105/65/100/70/85(+15) (520)
Movepool Changes: Earth Power
Explanation: Bringing Victreebel more inline with a historically successful Sun sweeper, Venusaur. Compared with Venusaur, however, Victreebel is slightly faster at the cost of some bulk.

:sv/pangoro:

Name: Pangoro
Abilities: Tough Claws / Mold Breaker / Scrappy
Stats: 110(+15)/124/78/69/71/73(+15) (525)
Movepool Changes: Spirit Break
Explanation: Slight bulk increase lets it take hits a little better from offensive mons, while the Speed increase lets Scarf sets outspeed everything not named Dragapult or Barraskewda. Tough Claws increases its damage output.

:sv/victreebel:
Name: Victreebel
Abilities: Chlorophyll / Intimidate / Gluttony
Stats: 80 / 115(+10) / 70(+5) / 100 / 80(+10) / 70 [BST= 515]
Movepool Changes: +Gunk Shot, High Horsepower, Leech Seed
Explanation: This buff focuses on giving vic a use outside of sun teams. Adds an intimidater back into the meta, which combined with vic's buffed defenses and base utility options in toxic, knock, STAB clear smog, and strength sap makes it a viable mid-range pivot. Gunk Shot gives it better poison STAB, and hh is mainly to give vic something to hit steels - I specifically chose ground coverage so that there is a little more reason to run rookada over kingambit.

24 hour warning for submissions btw

Don't worry, we're still here. Vetoes

:mandibuzz: Optimized Ground/Flying with Thick Fat in a meta with limited Ice move options, yeah. Best way to balace it while preserving the new identity would be by removing Roost.

:mandibuzz: Removing Nasty Plot is a good start, but council still thinks this is a bit overtuned, specifically in that -ate Boomburst allows it to fully invest in bulk while still having an offensive presence. Remove 10 Special Attack OR the additions of Aura Sphere & Focus Blast and we'll let it pass.
:barraskewda: Really hard to wall due to gaining its best STAB options and any coverage it wanted. Remove Wave Crash OR Knock Off.

:jellicent: Benefits too much from Levitate and we already have Ground-immune elec options in Iron Blimp and Eelektross. Remove/replace Levitate.

:victreebel:Fluffy on a Grass/Steel with this bulk AND insta recovery is way too much. Remove/replace Fluffy, also Aromatherapy, the latter is just because dexited moves are not allowed in this mod.
:mandibuzz:Prankster on this guy is mostly fine except for Topsy Turvy, which lets this check boost sweepers too easily. Remove Topsy Turvy.
:jellicent:Has a lot of issues, but in short it is extremely overtuned for a bulky stored power sweeper. Remove Bouncy Bubble, Sparkly Swirl (bc natdex moves), Stored Power, and remove/replace Speed Boost. Lastly reduce Defense by 5 points as it exceeds the +30 BST limit, though I suspect this was just a mistake/typo.
:barraskewda:Likely OP with ESurge due to pairing with and enabling Iron Hands very well. Remove/replace Electric Surge, though if you really want it to keep ESurge you may DM me or Beaf Cultist to discuss alternative changes.
:pangoro: The most fine of your subs but it still has a natdex move in Pursuit, so just remove Pursuit.

:mandibuzz: MGuard mandi is pretty intimidating but that more has to do with the lack of options to threaten it on the special side. Still though, it is likely a little too difficult for physical attackers to push through this mon, so we suggest removing Iron Defense.

:jellicent: We're already walking the line by letting through Drizzle Water Spout, but Water Bubble is just too much: even bulky resists have a chance to get 2HKO'd by a full power Water Spout:
252+ SpA Water Bubble Jellicent Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowbro: 177-208 (44.9 - 52.7%) -- 25.8% chance to 2HKO
Remove Water Bubble - If the main purpose of its addition was increasing Jellicent's offensive presence, I would personally suggest replacing it with Adaptability.
:mandibuzz: Has the same issue as ana's mandibuzz in answering physical threats too well with few checks on the special side right now, but Stamina takes it to another level of overtuned and lets it easily snowball. Remove/replace Stamina, even if it is the main addition of the sub.

:jellicent: Hard to wear down with the added bulk + regen, and volt absorb sets would counter Iron Blimp too well. Revert the stat additions, AND remove/replace either Regenerator or Volt Absorb.

You have 48 hours to make the suggested changes in bold!
