VGC 21 Necrozma-Dusk-Mane

[OVERVIEW]

Necrozma-DM makes excellent use of its amazing defenses combined with Prism Armor to be one of the bulkiest Pokemon in the metagame and a great user of Weakness Policy. In addition, its Steel typing allows it to check many dangerous threats such as Zacian-C, Kartana, and Xerneas, and it has access to Max Steelspike and Max Quake to increase its bulk even further. These qualities make Necrozma-DM very hard to take out, which means it can stay on the field for a long time to fire off attacks or set up Trick Room to support itself and its teammates. It can also be quite devastating if its Attack is boosted by either Weakness Policy or Swords Dance. However, Necrozma-DM is vulnerable to common Pokemon such as Calyrex-S, Charizard, and Yveltal. In addition, its Speed stat is also quite underwhelming, being slower than most relevant offensive Pokemon like Kyogre and Urshifu-S while being slower than Pokemon like Calyrex-I and Amoonguss in Trick Room. It also struggles against Intimidate and status from the likes of Ho-Oh, Venusaur, and Amoonguss.

* Sunsteel Strike has high-Base Power and in Dynamax allows Necrozma-DM to use Max Steelspike to boost its Defense even further. In addition, it allows Necrozma-DM to hit Mimikyu through its Disguise and KO it before it can set up or reverse Trick Room.

* Earthquake deals spread damage, hits Fire- and Steel-types like Incineroar, Dialga, and Solgaleo, and boosts Necrozma-DM's Special Defense with Max Quake in Dynamax.

* Trick Room helps Necrozma-DM with its low Speed, while Swords Dance can be used to boost Attack and counteract Intimidate.

* Weakness Policy takes advantage of Necrozma-DM's extremely high bulk and Prism Armor's damage reduction against super effective hits.

Rock Slide can be used to hit Pokemon that resist Earthquake and Sunsteel Strike such as Zapdos, Ho-Oh, and Charizard. Psychic Fangs can be used as a strong secondary STAB move that also breaks screens. Morning Sun can be used to allow Necrozma-DM to recover its health and last longer.

* Sunsteel Strike is the STAB move of choice due to its fairly high Base Power and in Dynamax it allows Necrozma-DM to use Max Steelspike to boost its Defense even further. (Add a mention about the mold breaker effect breaking through mimikyu and shedinja, this is pretty important so it should be clear)

* Earthquake deals spread damage and hits Fire- and Steel-types like Incineroar, Dialga and Solgaleo as well as boosts Necrozma-DM's Special Defense with Max Quake in Dynamax.

* Trick Room helps Necrozma-DM with its low Speed, while Swords Dance can be used to boost Attack and counteract Intimidate.

* Weakness Policy takes advantage of Necrozma-DM's extremely high bulk, as Prism Armor allows it to take much less damage from super effective attacks.

Basically fine here tbh, but maybe I would slash Protect with Trick Room as Swords Dance has felt nigh undroppable on this thing.

Otherwise happy about this one. Apologies it took a while to get to it, haven't been nearly as active for the last couple of days. QC 2
