Hello there people.
I thought id come here and ask if any of you have suggestions for improvements to my Mega Gardevoir team. Gardevoir is my favorite pokemon so a team like this was obvious for me, but im not the best at putting teams together.
Emboar @ Life Orb
Ability: Reckless
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- Wild Charge
- Sucker Punch
Emboar's main job is to punch major holes in the opposing team. Reckless is the only reason Emboar is used, as it turns Emboar from a mediocre physical attacker into an extremely powerful wallbreaker.Flare Blitz and Superpower are two very powerful STAB moves, with Flare Blitz also being boosted by Reckless. Wild Charge is a must on Emboar, as it is allows it to hit bulky Water-types such as Azumarill, which could otherwise wall this set.Sucker Punch remedies Emboar's low Speed.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
Rotom-W has good synergy with Emboar; it is immune to Ground-type attacks and resists Water- and Flying-type attacks, while also having a slow Volt Switch to bring in Emboar safely. Hydro Pump is Rotom-W's secondary STAB that allows it to beat some of the Pokemon it checks, most notably Ground-types such as Landorus-T and Mamoswine, which are immune to Volt Switch. Will-O-Wisp allows Rotom-W to inflict burns on the foe and deter physical attackers. Pain Split can be used when Rotom-W's HP is low to regain some HP, but it tends to be very inconsistent overall due to being dependent on the foe's HP.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 248 HP / 92 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
Ferrothorn is a consistent setter of Stealth Rock because of its great bulk and ability to beat common entry hazard removers, such as Latios, Latias, and Excadrill
Leech Seed gives Ferrothorn a way of recovering health and is a must on every Ferrothorn set, as it lacks reliable recovery. The damage Leech Seed does is also useful for chipping away at the opponent's health. Gyro Ball is Ferrothorn's primary choice for an attacking move, as it OHKOes Mega Gardevoir, and does significant damage to many fast Pokemon such as Latios, Latias, Gengar, and Fairy-types such as Clefable and Sylveon. Power Whip is generally preferred in the last slot so that Ferrothorn can deal with Substitute Mega Gyarados and hit Azumarill, Keldeo, Excadrill, and Hippowdon hard.
Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 16 HP / 8 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Will-O-Wisp
Hyper Voice hits incredibly hard and does a huge chunk of damage against any Pokemon that does not resist it. Psyshock hits special walls, most notably Chansey, on their Defense, allowing Gardevoir to break through them. Focus Blast hits the Steel-types that resist Gardevoir's STAB moves, such as Ferrothorn. Will-O-Wisp is great for burning Mega Scizor, Mega Metagross, and Jirachi on the switch.
Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Healing Wish
- Defog
Draco Meteor is Latias's most powerful attack, able to deal heavy damage to most Pokemon that don't resist it. Psyshock gives Latias a consistent form of damage output, allowing it to deal with Keldeo, Mega Venusaur, Amoonguss, and Breloom while giving it a way to hit Fairy-types. Healing Wish allows Latias to remove all damage and status from one of its teammates, but it causes Latias to faint upon using it. Defog removes all entry hazards from the field
Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Earthquake
- Crunch
With a Choice Scarf, Tyranitar reaches a great 365 Speed, allowing it to Pursuit trap common threats such as Latios, Starmie, and Gengar. Stone Edge is Tyranitar's main STAB move, doing decent damage to Pokemon that don't resist it. It also allows Tyranitar to force out Mega Charizard Y, which can be a nuisance otherwise, and Tyranitar makes a fine check as long as Tyranitar is wary of Focus Blast. Crunch is used in the last slot, as it is a reliable Dark-type STAB move that hits bulky Psychic-types such as Mew, Celebi, Slowking, Mega Latias, and Slowbro. It can also be used to clean teams late-game.
