Hello friends! I was searching for a team featuring Dragonite( my fav pokemon), so by looking into its older sets came to my mind a rain team based around a tanky Dragonite.
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Spa / 252 Spd
Calm Nature
- Hurricane
- Thunder
- Dragon Tail
- Roost
The star on the team, this set from smogon, Dragonite under rain can destroy many mons with STAB Hurricane, Thunder with high chance of paralysis help with Dragonite's low speed, Dragon Tail to avoid set-up mons and Leftovers + Roost to regain the multiscale. The spreads help its survability and in the rights circunstances is a hard mon to kill.
Pelipper @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 32 Def / 228 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- U-turn
- Roost
- Defog
The summoner of rain, Pelliper is the defoger of the team, and the physical defensive. The glue that holds the team, it can come on many situations, both to take physical hits or just to summon the rain.
Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Power-Up Punch
The stallbreaker mandatory on every rain team, on previously rain teams, by facing many mons (ex Landorus and pex) it can be stalled out, but thats why Dragonite is on the team, that can hit both and take hits with Scald without the risk of getting burned or HP ices that can do nothing.
Tapu Koko @ Fairium Z
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunder
- Dazzling Gleam
- U-turn
Koko is here because it can pivot well, it has high power with Thunder, and the z power is Fairyum not Electrium because Dragonite already has Thunder, and to make it not so obvious for the team struggle so hard vs groud types.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
The hazard entry and the special wall, it can take Hurricanes and under rain HP fires from Lele for ex. Both stealth rock and spikes are here to force the oponent to defog, cause sr are a pain to deal to Multiscale Dragonite, that can come soon after.
Kartana @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Sacred Sword
- Knock Off
I needed one more physical breaker and speed control, so Kartana came in my mind, that can hit ground types and fairy types well, but I dont know if it's the better fit on the team.
Any improvements are welcome, since the team is doing ok but can be improved
