Alright... I've got a string of competitive battles coming up, and I thought I'd come to you guys for advice. This team's been doing pretty well--much better than I expected, actually. But I feel there's always room for improvement. The basic idea is to stall for a while, let the opponent get worn down by Toxic Spikes, and then once I've got a good feel for their team, I try to pass a sub to Lucario and sweep. Any suggestions would be great.

The team at a glance:

Roserade @ Focus Sash
Natural Cure, Timid, 252 SAtk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
-Sleep Powder
-Toxic Spikes
-Grass Knot
-Hidden Power Fire

Rose, besides being a favorite, is a solid lead. She provides sleep and toxic spikes support, something that goes nicely with the...longevity of my team. Hidden Power Fire is there for steels and such, but she rarely gets a chance to use anything but the first two moves.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Bold, Water Absorb 252 HP, 252 Def, 6 SDef
-Surf/Hidden Power Electric
-Ice Beam
-Wish
-Protect

One of the keys to my survivability. She passes wishes all over the place, as well as being a great counter to Infernape, Heatran and some dragons. Her bulkiness and consistent team healing makes her an invaluable member of the team. Hidden Power Electric is an option in case Starmie falls for some reason or another so I can stop a Gyarados sweep.

Bronzong @ Light Clay
Relaxed, Levitate, 252 HP, 152 Atk, 98 SDef, 6 Def
-Refelct
-Light Screen
-Gyro Ball
-Explosion

Bronzong helps my team greatly by setting up long-lasting screens. This allows Gliscor's Baton Passing to go off much smoother, in addition to just helping the team survive assaults. Gyro Ball takes out Weavile, Gengar, and other fast/weak to steel things, and Explosion lets me take out a poke the rest of my team can't handle.
dpmfb472.png

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Jolly, Hyper Cutter, 252 HP, 252 Spd, 4 Atk
-Substitute
-Baton Pass
-Roost
-Earthquake

A strange looking set, but in my experience it works quite well. I can pass subs to the rest of my team, netting them free switch-ins. The most important member to pass a sub to is Lucario, as it will help him mount an attempt at a sweep. Hyper Cutter prevents me from passing any Intimidates along. Earthquake is there so I have an attack, and for things like opposing Lucario, who I outrun nearly all the time. Roost allows me to heal myself and stall a bit. His speed, bulkiness and good typing allows him to pull off sub-passes quite often. My only problem is that other than Lucario, I don't have much offensively-speaking to pass to.

Lucario @ Life Orb
Adamant, Inner Focus, 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Extremespeed
-Crunch

He's my main sweeper, and a fine one at that. With a sub from Gliscor, he's more than capable of ripping through teams. Crunch is there over Ice Punch because I don't have anything else to really hurt the new Rotoms. This spot was initally filled by Gallade... I switched him for typing reasons...but if anyone thinks there's a better contender for this spot, feel free to suggest something. I want something somewhere on my team to be able to take out Rotom, though.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Timid, Natural Cure, 252 HP, 216 Spd, 42 Def
-Surf
-Thunderbolt
-Rapid Spin
-Recover

Standard spinner Starmie. It's here to take care of any entry hazards that get set up. Its coverage is also welcome--it's capable of scaring off Gyarados, among other things. A nice, solid addition.

And that's it. How does it look?

On such a stalling team, Bronzong would be better off with SR instead of Explosion.
Or Gliscor can use it instead, but he'll have to give up Sub passing. Vaporeon can do that better than Gliscor, as well as improving his wish passing ability, but then you give up Ice beam for the Dragons. However, Gliscor can have EQ, Ice Fang, Roost and SR, solving your Dragon problem. Its probably better, Gliscor can now be a true physical wall with Sand Veil, Impish and more Def. in place of Speed, but don't expect Vaporeon to live as long without Protect.

For a stalling team, you lack a Special Wall. Azelf and Gengar cream your whole team. Skymin too because Bronzong risks Air Slash flinch.

You fastest Pkmn is Starmie. Thats decent, but the only way you'll touch Scarfers is with Lucario.

First of all, thanks. I've implemented the Gliscor and Vaporeon changes you suggested--I'll test 'em out and see how that goes. I'm a little iffy on a protect-less Vappy, but I'll give it a shot.

The special wall thing is another good point. I've usually been able to deal with Gengar through Bronzong's Gyro Ball, but Azelf and definitely Skymin are problematic. (I haven't spent much time looking for a skymin counter because there's a chance it'll become uber...heh.) I'm not sure who I could take out, though... I mean, Azelf certainly isn't as common as Gengar, so that's good. But still. At the moment, I guess I could only hope to maybe survive a Flamethrower (maybe I'll have a screen up or something) and then blow up on it or stall out the likely life orb damage... If anyone thinks there's a member I can and should replace for a special wall, suggestions are welcome.

Err... I see a lot of Vaporeons with 68 SpAtk EVs and I just like to pop in and say that those are not required anymore. The magic 269-273 SpAtk number was neccessary for the OHKO on Yache-less Garchomp. Now that chomp is gone you can feel free to remove those SpAtk EVs and pump your defences more.

Same goes with Starmie. Starmie should start worrying about LO Gyarados and pumping that defence, not investing 132 SpAtk EVs to KO Garchomp.

Sorry for being kinda off topic but I feel this should be adressed somehow.

Anyway lets go to the team.

First of all, Gliscor has only 3 moves :\ It needs Earthquake(that's the 4th one right?)
Secondly, you should put stealth rock somewhere.
And finally, I really think you need more firepower. Lucario is the only thing on your team that can hit hard.

My suggestion is: A) Either put a ghost(antispinner) in there and make it a stall team, or
B) Remove something to make room for another sweeper so you can have some balance of support and sweep.

Oh, that's not off topic at all--thanks for pointing that out. I'll move them to HP and defenses.

And yeah, Gliscor's fourth move is earthquake...I could've sworn I put that on there. lol

What if I replaced Bronzong for this:

Rotom-H (the fire one, whichever letter it is) @ Choice Scarf
252 HP, 252 SDef, 4 Def; Levitate; Calm
-Trick
-Will-o-Wisp/Thunder Wave/Reflect/Light Screen/Overheat?
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball

This seems like it'd serve multiple purposes. It'd help me revenge kill a thing or two, ease my slight dd-gyara weakness, give me a special wall, block Rapid Spin, provide team support, and shut down things like CM Suicune and other walls. Any thoughts? If it's a good addition, which support move should I use? (Also, maybe I should switch it to the freeze one, to take on Zapdos... I dunno. Tell me what you guys think.) I could also replace Bronzong with an offensively-oriented Gengar.

Also, I'm not liking having Vappy do the sub-passing. She can't stay alive long enough without Protect. I'll keep testing, because I do like Stealth Rock... But I might just forgoe it and keep my everlasting Vappy/sub-passing Gliscor.

Rotom is better at physical walling. As a special wall, he lacks health, a recovery move and Leftovers. He dies to Gengar, the most common special attacker and Skymin. He's still slower than Gengar, even with Scarf - you need some Speed EVs. But a scarfed wall is horrible.
Either make him an offensive scarfer or a phyiscal wall (with Will o Wisp etc). You don't even beat CM Suicune after he's set up a CM due to lack of SpcAtt.

Best special wall is Blissey. She can also be a wisher if Vappy won't be one (and possibly be instead of him, Rotom and Gliscor can be your physical walls). Just be careful with Trick Gengar or Azelf (and Explosion). She isn't a Skymin counter, that problem still needs to be solved. For that, and speed, try a Timid Scarf Heatran (most Skymin users aren't smart enough to Earth Power as Heatran swaps in (or Sub and then Earth Power).

When I was talking about shutting down CM Suicune, I meant surviving a Surf, tricking it a Scarf, then forcing it out with Vaporeon's Water Absorb. But you're right, scarfed walls fail. I really don't know why I made that set...long day, I guess. >_> Anyway, I'm trying these two things out in place of Bronzong and Vaporeon:

Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Timid, 252 SAtk, 252 Speed, 6 HP
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Overheat
-Hidden Power Ice

The EVs, though it looks like I didn't put any thought into them, actually *just* let me outspeed the base 130s. He oughta be able to revenge kill decently (and thus remedy my speed problem) as well as block Rapid Spin. Since it outruns non-scarfed Skymin, it should be able to scare her off/revenge kill her as well.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Calm, 252 Def, 176 SDef, 80 SAtk
-Wish
-Protect
-Toxic
-Ice Beam

Special wall and wish-passer! She's also got Toxic so I'll be able to stall out those flyers, too. We'll see how she does.

Also, it's worth noting that on my original team, I tried out a special wall Empoleon in Bronzong's place with moderate success. It gave me Stealth Rock and a phazer--both proved very helpful. It's got great chemistry with Gliscor, too. Anyway, I'll get to testing some more. Btw, I really appreciate all the help so far.
