I'm really having a problem. I just bought Bioshock yesterday and it will no play sounds other than on the opening menu page. I went onto Bio's teck support site and I'm certain that the problem is that my video card does not support DirectX 9.0c but I'm not sure if this is true or not. My Control panel says that I'm using a Realtek High Definition Audio Sound Card. So I went to Realtek's site and it looks like I could download some software that may make my card compatible with Bio, but I can't understand which one does what to my Card. I also went through Bio's game settings to see if I could lower it to play with my card but no success currently.
So basically there are three questions, one of which I need answered if I'm going to play my game in peace.
1: Will I have to buy a new Sound Card for my PC?
2: Should I download software from my card's site? (please specify which software to download if you can)
3: Is there a way to change Bioshock's settings so I can hear sounds with my current sound card?
Now you may be wondering why I'm here asking and not with Bio's teck Support people. Well, it's Sunday where I'm at and it's Christmas two times when support companies are always closed. Come on NS2 users, I'm putting faith in you. Help me fully experience Bioshock in all of it's glory.
