Okay, so this story requires a little background to make any sense. This battle took place on a 747 flight to Japan. My friend challenged me to a game of pokemon. We capped the levels at 45-60 because he did not have any that were higher level than 60 at that time. The start of the game was a little interesting as we had just gotten done trading pokemon, he needed an Ice beam TM. Anyway, with the introduction done, here goes, if I read your obituaries in the paper, I`ll know it was this boring warstory that killed you.

Okay, at this point I was coming off a previous win where I had only won because sharpedo FRIKKING OWNED four out of six of a guy`s pokemon when I was down to just sharpedo, I figured, just repeat previous battle.
GRAVELER used rock polish!
Graveler`s speed sharply rose!
Kevin laughed, SHARPEDO is still way faster!
SHARPEDO used Surf!

At this point, Palkia had maybe 65% health left, I figured I had a chance.

OMFG, look at how fast the health bar goes down! ~55% damage

PALKIA laughed! <even STABed it only did ~25% damage, damn>

Oh, god, I only have one pokemon left. Luckily, he`s half decent.

PALKIA`S health bar goes down significantly!
But it wasn`t enough to kill the beast! ~25% damage to Palkia
Okay, at this point, palkia had maybe a sliver of health left, prolly 3-6 percent, not a whole lot, but it didn`t matter. Sharpedo was going to be toast.
That damn beast used spacial rend!
Sharpedo tried and failed!
Spencer won!
Kevin cursed his ancestors!
Okay, so it was pretty clsoe even at the end, but seriously, Palkia was the only thing that made this a close match. All in all, good game despite us agreeing to no ubers and then Spencer ubering me to death.
Moral: Many people whine about not being able to use ubers in some competition, this is why. Palkia and his accompanying uber pokemon are the reason that tiers exist, pokemon like palkia can burn through an entire team of BL, UU and NU pokemon, this story is a good example of that.
