Specific Rules:
  • This is a standard SWSH NU tournament.
  • Matches are to be played on PS!, preferably on the smogtours server.
  • All rounds will be a best of three in this single elimination tournament, and you are free to switch teams during your series.
Standard Rules and Clauses:
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same PokeDex number on his team.
  • Sleep Clause: You cannot inflict sleep upon more than one member of the opposing team.
  • Evasion Clause: The moves Double Team and Minimize are banned.
  • OHKO Clause: The moves Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Fissure are banned.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.
  • Other Smogon tournament rules also apply.

We will be using a seeding system based on Elo this time around. If two players have the same Elo, the person with the higher GXE wins that seed tiebreaker. Seeds 1-8 are the people with first round byes while seeds 9-24 are the other people who qualified. Seed #9 will play #24 and so on.

(1) Togkey vs. DugZa (16)

It’s hard to bet against Togkey in this round. He’s one of the best NU players on this site and the number 1 seed for a reason.

(2) bulufan14 vs. Danny (15)

Danny might not have had the NUPL that was expected with the price tag he had, but he’s undoubtedly a good player who can clutch up when it matters (yes I’m still mad about BDSPPL).

(3) Luck O' the Irish vs. yovan33321 (14)

So I know that Irish will probably win this, but I’m curious what type of Malamaresque creation Yovan will show up with that will either matchup fish Irish or catch him totally off guard. Lowkey excited to see what they both bring.

(4) Ninja vs. eifo (20)

Ninja’s my guy. He has this.

(5) GW vs. Plas (21)

GW decided to dodge me in NUPL when I told him to stay in slot 1 to go against me. That’s all that needs to be said.

(6) kythr vs. OranBerryBlissey10 (22)

OBB is great, but kythr is an awesome player, and although this isn’t LC, it’s hard to say that he can’t make moves this tournament, especially after watching his previous NU runs.

(7) Xiri vs. Test Techles (10)

Xiri is just so solid man.

(8) MrJelli vs. S1nn0hC0nfirm3d (9)

Ho3n is another super solid player who is always a struggle to take down in a Bo3, especially since he loves cool techs/off meta mons that can catch people off guard.

Very close playing wise, will likely go down to who did a better job in the builder. Can go either way.

Predicting the upset here.

Bo3 Ho3n is a very tall order for anyone.
