Here's my idea:

Adding a contest move list and analysis of different spreads for each Pokemon next to the competitive analysis. This can be in an additional tab like how the analysis and move descriptions are already being done. Just add 2 more tabs and do it the same way.

Now, this will require some testing, but you are already testing the battling side, so it won't be that difficult to test contests, only it will have to run on the honest system if you require a certain number of ribbons to help, that's debatable though. Even that could be avoided by creating a contest server, perhaps Coddy? I know it's cheesy, but bare with me. Coddy would allow people to partake in contests competitively, since we can't do wifi contests in game. That counters perhaps one of the most arguments I think I'll get in replies. That you can't do it with others.

Sure, it WILL require work, but if you want to be the best, won't it be worth it? You'll get even more users and contributors by doing this, and I believe that's what you all want.

That's my idea, feel free to provide your input.

On a side note, yes, I'm back. This is my first post being un-banned. I've realized I acted really stupid and I'm back to involved myself in the community. Please don't hold my previous actions against me, I don't want to cause any more trouble.

Peace,
Superpoke

This has been brought up in the past and has always been unanimously turned down. There is no reliable medium for "competitive" contests. You are not able to participate against other people via wifi and there is no simulator. Because Smogon is dedicated to competitive Pokemon and not just Pokemon in general, there is little to no reason for us to dedicate a portion (a large portion at that) of the site to such an endeavor.

I don't represent Smogon as a whole, but this is just what has happened in the past.

I also highly doubt that anyone on this site with sufficient coding knowledge would be willing to sacrifice the numerous hours required to code the simulator for your idea. It might possibly (very small possibly here) have a chance if you first create a workable simulator.

Contests are broken. They're also simply based more on luck than on skill. And there would be no point, seeing that we'll be limited to so little. And were since it's Shoddy (or Coddy, whatever), no one would be usin anything less than max condition. They'd also be able to pick whatever the right scarf is, and are able to choose whatever decorations they want (that's another problem, how can that be sorted out on the servers). They only aspects you'll be choosing can be different than anyone else are the pokemon and the moves (the former with no real competitive aspect at all), barring some moves would be unavailible to the pre-evos or somethin like that.
