New battler's first attempt at a standard/OU team--

Lucario @ Life Orb
Inner Focus
252 Attack/ 6 Defense/ 252 Speed
Jolly
-Extremespeed
-Close Combat
-Crunch
-Swords Dance

Lead off, I tried to build the most destructive Lucario possible, and I have no intention of finishing a battle with it alive, unless I can make that possible. Extremespeed is for killing Ninjask lead offs, and it's nice having priority over priority. Swords Dance is if I can predict a switch and get a free attack boost for the next Pokemon.

Starmie @ Choice Scarf
Natural Cure
40 HP/ 216 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack
Timid
-Surf
-Thunderbolt
-Recover
-Rapid Spin

Tried to make it as fast as possible, so maybe Timid is the wrong nature with Scarf. I use it mainly as a sweeper against ground/rock/fire, with Infernape and Gyarados in mind to counter. I know I have Recover and Rapid Spin on a Scarfer, but that's if I know I can get my opponent to switch, then get a free heal or spin and get the hell out of there.

Medicham @ Choice Band
Pure Power
252 Attack/ 6 Defense/ 252 Speed
Jolly
-Brick Break
-Thunder Punch
-Fire Punch
-Ice Punch

My powerhouse, and made in mind as a Blissey killer. The elemental punches are for type coverage when Blissey switches out. I'm not sure about this Pokemon though, whether it fits into my team or has the right moves or whatnot.

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Chlorophyll
252 HP/ 228 Defense/ 28 Speed
Impish
-Knock Off
-Leech Seed
-Power Whip
-Sleep Powder

Started out as a Swampert counter, but then I tried making it my physical wall. Switch in to a physical attacker I know I can take, and I select Sleep Powder for the switch or if they decide to stay in. After that, I'm not sure if it's better to seed or remove the item first, but I usually go for seed and restore any lost HP, then if they switch, knock off the next Pokemon's item.

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Pressure
252 HP/ 6 Defense/ 252 Sp. Defense
Careful
-Shadow Sneak
-Ice Punch
-Will-o'-Wisp
-Pain Split

This thing was originally a Choice Bander for surprise, then became spin prevention, and now I made it sort of a special wall that can take a physical hit. Ice Punch to hurt dragons or Gliscor or something, Shadow Sneak for low HP pokemon, Alakazam, or Azelf. Wisp for if an attacker switches in.

Jynx @ Choice Scarf
Forewarn
6 HP/ 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack
Timid
-Ice Beam
-Grass Knot
-Psychic
-Hidden Power Ground

My hand at a different special sweeper. This thing is pretty fast and handles most dragons, HP Ground is for Heatran and electrics. I'm sure there's a better OU Pokemon that could go here though.

--------

I know I'm probably making a mistake with two fighting types, so help me correct that. Also, I feel this team doesn't exactly work together, I'm new so I tend to lean towards "Ok, I need to counter *insert Pokemon here*."

I'm not really sure what this team is weak to most, It started out mainly as dragons, Swampert, TTar, and Ninjask, and I have those taken care of now. Celebi comes to mind as something that really annoys me, as well as Jirachi.

I came into battling as a UU lover, but since I mostly use Shoddy Battle, I've had to upgrade a lot of my Pokemon to BL/OU. That also explains why there's nothing like Forry or Blissey, because after watching so many YouTube battles I felt like the most common OU Pokemon are kind of boring to me. However, if you guys feel I really need one of the more popular sweepers or tanks to round out my team, go ahead and recommend it. I'm open to anything.

well as it is, you're pretty destroyed by opposing heatrans/infernapes. definetely change the starmie to the standard set.

honestly i think you should base your team around a medicham sweep. that means sr somewhere, as well as a reliable way to kill skarm/the pixies.
to me, dusknoir isn't doing shit since you don't have sr and even if you did, its easy enough to set up.

skarm/celebi/jirachi are all done away with easily enough by heatran. I'd replace jynx with hp ice earth power fireblast scarf heatran, who can also take out opposing heatrans if you're lucky. It even takes care of the occasional weezing who would give medicham trouble. (I'd also replace brick break with high jump kick tbh)

now you yourself are kind of heatran weak, as starmie without recover is your best switchin.

(im just gonna say that timid scarf starmie is kind of pathetic and even with max satk cannot 2hko max hp cbtar, I'd really consider a change on that one, since we're focusing on medicham. )

ok heatran solves some problems, so what are you still having trouble with. cress is still blocking your sweep, so are opposing dusknoir. replacing dusknoir for Weavile/heracross seems like a reasonable choice, but then your fire weak is unforgiveable. you could put tar in but that would hinder medicham. one kooky idea is houndoom who will stop both in their tracks besides switching in on a focus punch. (you could even use beat up on it since you have alot of offensive power on the team heh)

houndoom gives you another eq weak so finally i'd consider replacing luke for something like bronzong who can set up rocks, sleep stuff handle gengar, and can be put to sleep later on. make him sdef based to switch into the mass of ice beam heading at tangrowth.

two fire types seems dumb but you have tangrowth to take out the bulky grounds/water that annoy them. i'd also throw stun spore on tangrowth for extra support.

edit: note that this new team is still really heatran weak x_x; sleep talk gyarados could go over bronzong perhaps!
