SS OU New member here. First post of my SS OU Team! Mama Hatterene!

Hello everyone! I've recently got back into Competitive Pokemon Battling and decided to make an Gen 8 OU Team on Pokemon Showdown. Personally, I love the new competitive Pokemon and mechanics in Gen 8 and I decided to make a team around my favorite Pokemon of this generation. Hatterene. I put a lot of thought into this team and I now think it is pretty decent after doing battles with it. I really want to improve my competitive knowledge in this new Generation so whoever wants to give feedback or recommend me changes please do.

Here is my team:

Hatterene @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 Spe
Bold Nature
- Psychic
- Draining Kiss
- Mystical Fire
- Calm Mind

Hatterene is the main star of this team. I have to be pretty careful if I want to use her effectively though since she is a little fragile. I mainly do not like to bring her out until later in the game after her teammates took down opposing threats to her and them she can possibly sweep whats left on the opposing team.

Corviknight (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- Defog
- Roost
- Body Press

Of course I have Corviknight on this team to handle some major threats like Excadrill. Corviknight also handles fairy types like Clefable and Mimikyu which is important. Also of course, I have defog so teammates won't get cripple down by Stealth Rock, Spikes, etc.

Toxapex (F) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Recover
- Haze
- Toxic Spikes

Toxapex plays the role of great defensive wall for this team. Toxapex's main role is to apply defensive pressure on the opposing team and switch into attacks that its teammates can't take very well. Although Toxapex doesn't hit very hard, it can cripple them with status and stall them out with Recover.

Chandelure (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
- Trick
- Energy Ball

Chandelure pretty serves as a special wallbreaker in this team. I recently replaced Overheat with Energy Ball so that it can take bulky water pokemon like Seismitoad and Gastrodon which were very annoying to deal with. The little gimmick Chandelure has with Trick I like because it can cripple defensive pokemon by locking them into using just one move and players don't really expect it.

Clefable (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Teleport
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect

Clefable can function as a great defensive pivot. She can check threatening Dragon Pokemon like Dragapult and Hydreigon. Her major role though it to give wish support to the team.

Seismitoad (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Earth Power
- Protect

I did have Dragapult on this team but swapped it out and added Seismitoad to this handle Zeraora which was a major threat to this team. I also needed a Pokemon that can handle the power of Dracovish which would destroy my team. I have Protect ran on him instead of Scald to stall and confirm choice lock Pokemon and to rack up poison damage.

I believe this team is pretty balanced. I have played quite of few number of battles and i did win almost all of them. I have to say this team is pretty fun to use. What are your opinions about this team and should I change anything. Please let me know and thank you so much for reading!

The team looks solid overall, but some little things are disturbing me. Firstly, I don't like having toxapex and seismitoad in the same team and so here are my recommandations.

The team looks better like this. Why ? Mandi > Corvi because it allows you to have a ghost resist which is something I like in the actual metagame. And Ferro > Seismi to check Zeraora easier, to keep the steel type Corviknight was providing and also to keep the rocks seismi was providing.
Let me know if you lie the edit !

A good team indeed, I suggest a u-turn on Corvi, u need that momentum going with switching in and out easily.
