I decided to build a team around mega Metagross before it gets suspected again, and probably banned. I finished the team and, despite having many successful matches with it, I felt as though it could be better. The Pokemon and their sets are as follows:
Metagross-Mega @ Metagrossite
Ability: Tough Claws
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Power-Up Punch Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
-Ice Punch Zen Headbutt
The star of my team. The EV spread is pretty common so I won't go into much about that. As for the set, power-up punch is to hit Ferro on the switch, as well as some other mons on the switch so i can hit them harder with my next attack. BP is for priority, and EQ and Ice Punch are just coverage moves. EDIT: Decided to opt for STABs over coverage, this set has its own flaws but less obvious than the previous set.
Keldeo-Resolute @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 10 HP / 252 SpA / 110 SpD / 136 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind
I needed a check for scarfed Heatran so I went with Keldeo. His EV spread is designed so he can outspeed timid mega Sep as well as slower scarfers and still take hits fairly well. I went with modest for the nature since this thing needs to hit as hard and as fast as possible.
Thundurus (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Taunt
- Thunder Wave
- Knock Off
- Thunderbolt
My team was extremely weak to Slowbro so I went with Thundurus as my check. Taunt and twave make him a good lead, as well as being able to stop mega Slowbro from boosting or healing. Tbolt is used over Volt-Switch so I can use a STAB that doesn't require switching out. Knock off is for normal Slowbro and predicted switch-ins, as well as crippling leftovers Ferrothorn and some choice users. A modest nature is used in order to hit as hard as possible.
Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Heal Bell
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss
- Wish
My team was frail on the special side so I went with Chansey, as she is my go-to special tank. She originally carried Soft-Boiled over Wish, but the team was in desperate need of wish support so I decided to change that fact. She is also useful against Slowbro, being able to severley cripple it with toxic. Other than this set being weak to Gengar, it is pretty standard so I won't go on any longer.
Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Extreme Speed
-Iron Head Fire Punch
I noticed this team needed a physical sweeper, and Dnite seemed to have good synergy. A very standard set except for Iron Head, which is useful for hitting predicted fairy switch-ins. Wish support is crucial for this mon due to its Multiscale being broken is a huge issue. EDIT: Swapped Iron Head for FP. Ferro. Enough said
Empoleon @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 248 HP / 200 Def / 4 SpA / 56 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Defog
- Stealth Rock
For my final team member, I went with Empoleon. Being able to remove SR which my team hates and having excellent synergy with everyone, it can also set up its own SR to give Talonflame, who my team is slightly weak to, a tough time. It is focused more around taking physical hits than special ones since Chansey is already my special tank.
So that is my team, please leave suggestions below. Easy import if you'd like to test it before posting:
