New OU Team

This is my new team I thought up earlier today. I have tested it a few times, and it works quite well, I just feel it can be better though, hence the thread.

At a glance:

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Levitate
Naive
26 ATK/ 232 SPA/ 252 SPE
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- Explosion

Azelf is a great suicide lead. Taunt, Stealth Rock on the switch and then Explode. Next please. It's great Special Attack and Speed stats make it great for a lead, and to exploit the use of STAB Psychic, which can also pack a punch in itself. The reason I have 26 Attack EV's is because I'd like to have a little extra kick with my Explosion, as I want the OHKO. Focus Sash is a great Item for speedy leads as it guarantees a Taunt and Stealth Rock against most leads, which is Azelf's job in this team.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Natural Cure
Calm
252 DEF/ 80 SPA/ 176 SPE
- Protect
- Wish
- Toxic
- Ice Beam/Flamethrower/Thunderbolt (can't decide, need help)

Standard WishBliss set. Protect to scout, Toxic, if needed Wish and then Protect. And, when I can, I will hit them with either of the three attacking moves, whichever one I choose. 80 Special Attack EV's give me more of a chance as it can do some damage off Blissey's mediocre Special Attack stat. The reason I can't decvide between Ice Beam, Flamethower and Thunderbolt is because Ice Beam hits Salamence, Flygon (which seems to be appearing more often) and Gyarados. Flamethower hits Bronzong and Metagross, whereas Thunderbolt hits quite a lot of things for Super Effective damage.

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Hyper Cutter
Impish
252 HP/ 40 DEF/ 218 SPE
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Gliscor is a great staller. It's great Speed and Defence stats keep it in for a long time. It's STAB Earthquake is nothing to shake a stick at either. It can take out quite a lot, such as Inferno, Metagross and the occasional Electivire. Stone Edge is a filler move, but again can cause cause havoc for Flying types. Stealth Rock is there just incase the Rapid Spin the first one, but, if I choose to put in a Spin Blocker, I may take it out for something else, Probably Fire Fang or something of the like. Roost is there to do the obvious. Heal. Also, it can help if they use an Ice type move, as it takes the damage from x4 to x2.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Keen Eye
Impish
252 HP/ 62 ATK/ 176 DEF/ 16 SPE
- Roost
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird

Skarmory is my Spiker. Once a Stealth Rock and 2-3 Spikes are set up, I can wreek havoc with Whirlwind and take off chunks of damage off several Pokemon. Roost is to heal up in the middle of this, as Skarmory is slow and won't outspeed much. Brave Bird is there for the STAB and the fact that it's very powerful and can easily OHKO a few pokemon. Leftovers are just for the gradual HP restoration

Scizor @ Choice Band
Technitian
Adamant
252 HP/ 252 ATK/ 6 SPE
- Bullet Punch
- U-Turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

One of the two full on attackers on this team. With it's high Attack stat and Choice Band, this guy can wreek havoc on an unprepared team, with a little help from Stealth Rock and Spikes of course. Bullet Punch is the STAB move that causes problems. With Technitian, it's low base power get a boost and it's a Priority move, which is why Scizor is a great sweeper. U-Turn is for the one-time, STAB Super Effective use, and can be used to bring out an appropriate counter while getting in some damage. Superpower is for opposing Blissey which cause a problem for this team and Pursuit is there for you to switch in on a Psychic or something, and then Pursuit when they switch out, and it is boosted with Technitian.

Lucario @ Life Orb
Inner Focus
Adamant
252 ATK/ 6 DEF/ 252 SPE
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Crunch

The star of my team. This guy is brough out last, usually againt something that is weak to it, Swords Dance on the switch, and then sweep with Close Combat, Extremespeed and Crunch. Close Combat is a nice STAB move, and coming off the brilliant Attack stat and a Swords Dance can OHKO most things that dont resist it. Extremespeed is great as it had a high base power and is a priority move. I use this the most after a Swords Dance as it can OHKo most things againt that don't resist it. Crunch is to stop those pesky Psychics that think they can kill of my Lucario and stop the sweep.

Problems: Perhaps a Spin Blocker is needed as I hate it when I set up a Stealth Rock and 3 Spikes and then in comes the Rapid Spinner and recks it all.

I recommend changing Gliscor to your lead and entirely getting rid of azelf, not to say azelf isnt good but to make the team match the style you're going for.

Gliscor
@leftovers
Nature: Jolly
252 HP, 40 Def, 216 speed
Ability: Sand Veil

-Stealth rock
-Taunt
-Earthquake
-Roost

This Gliscor tears apart stall teams and forces plenty of switches by taunting walls.
I recomend using flamethrower on blissey to hit incoming Scizor/Metagross/Lucario for more damage

And to replace the empty slot on ur team i recommend going to a scarf rotom, it will help your team tremendously by getting rid of your gyara weakness and also acts as an anti spinner to keep your precious sr/spikes on the field

Rotom-H
@Choice Scarf
nature: Timid
252 HP, 6 Sp Atk, 252 Speed

-Overheat
-Thunderbolt
-ShadowBall
-Trick/HiddenPower Ground/Ice

Hope i helped

Hi,

Theres a few problems I can see with this team. First, you have no special sweepers and have a giant Infernape weakness. A simple Nasty Plot, Fire Blast, HP Ice, and Close Combat moveset OHKOs 5 of your pokemons, and the only one not is your lead, Azelf, which will probably go down early.

To fix this, I suggest dropping Gliscor for a Scarf Heatran. Predict the incoming Fire Blasts on one aimed at one of your steels, and hit back with a super effective Earth Power.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Naive Nature
4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Fire Blast / Flamethrower
~ Earth Power
~ Explosion
~ Hidden Power Ice

This set is also effective at taking out Salamence, with HP Ice, and special walls with Explosion. Fire Blast after an absorbed fire move with Flash Fire does heavy damage, so it should be your main attack.

Some other suggestions: On Azelf, consider Fire Blast over Taunt, it really helps against steel leads like Jirachi and Metagross that are ever so common these days.

For your blissey question, go ice beam, as your team has a salamence weakness and needs something to take it out quickly.

You can also try out a Latias in Scizor's place, if your lacking a special sweeper. You can also try out Rotom-H, which works great as it takes out things like Gyarados and can serve as a great spin blocker

Normally, I switch in Gliscor on on the same turn they Nasty Plot and then I OHKO with Earthquake.
