New Team: Bath Time Fun

My new and improved team. I am looking for any advice people might have although I may disagree with advice I am willing to take any contructive criticism.

Azelf: @ Focus Sash

Nature: Naive
IVs: 28 speed
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Movepool:
Stealthrock
Psychic
Explosion
Taunt

Azelf returns after a long time as my lead, however instead of fireblast he has taunt because Heatran covers that domain with his Fire STAB. Taunt allows me to shut down leads from setting stealthrock or spikes or whatnot, with his speed he can usually outspeed any other lead that gets in his way. He can take care of fighting types with ease, and when his job is done he can just boom and take out the opposing pokemon with him. He makes a fantastic lead that usually always sets up stealthrock.

Swampert @ Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Movepool:
Earthquake
Roar
Ice Beam
Stone Edge

Swampert used to be my lead, but now he is a bulky water that is able to take on many threats that other members of my team have trouble with. It supports Porygon2 very well in being able to stand up defensvly to many threats and being able to phase into a pokemon that Swampert could hurt with its great coverage and attacking power. Its a mix of power and defense which helps my team survive by being a key electric immunity.

Latias: @ Life Orb
Nature: Modest
EVs:4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Movepool:
Surf
Recover
Calm Mind
Dragon Pulse

Latias works as a somewhat bulky Special Sweeper. She is able to quickly take down opponents that may prove a problem to my other teamates such as Salamance as well her ground type immunity helps both defensvly against moves such as earthquake but also against spikes. Additionally she takes little damage from stealthrock. With a few CMs under her belt she can kill anything that dosent resist her. Leaving room for the rest of my team to dispatch her weaknesses. Surf is there for more type coverage.

Scizor: Sword Dance Life Orb

Nature: Adament
EVs:32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Movepool:
Bullet Punch
Swords Dance
Pursuit
Super Power

Scizor helps me both revenge kill and sweep on the physical side. He kills leads who carry focus sash. His good typing gives him few weaknesses this again helps my team defensivly somewhat, this is because the pokemon on my team have few weaknesses for the most part, however what they are weak too hits hard and thats why scizor helps to hit rock and ice types hard with bullet punch. As well as killing Rock types, and Normal types with Superpower. With sword dance technician and life orb he works well as a sweeper too. Pursuit is my cover against pesky ghosts which wall many of my other pokemon. With his brutal strength and priority moves as well as his bukyness he is able to sweep through anyhting that dosetn resist his attacks.

Porygon2: @Choice Scarf/Choice Specs
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SpA
Ability: Trace
Movepool:
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Recover
Trick

Porygon2 aka Rubber Ducky is an annoying defence check and counter. It counters many threats with ease such as gyrados and salamence, and basically almost anything that it isnt weak too will be hit by a power attack if choice specs is used, or hit slightly if choice scarf is used. But the reason I used the EVs and nature of the Defensive duck for my choice trick set is because I feel that porygon2 works better as a defensive counter, it can go up against many counters taht cause trouble for the rest of my team members especially gyrados because of his ability Trace. And if he runs up against blissy, or a pesky sweeper he can trick them his choice item, and then procede to decimate teh opponent or allow me to switch into a better counter.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Modest
EVs:4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Movepool:
Fire Blast
Earth Power
Explosion
Dragon Pulse

Heatran is my built in speedy revenge killer. With his high special attack stat and choice scarf he can revenge kill pokemon that are weaker in the special defence area. Fire Blast can kill steel types and is his STAB move. While Earthpower can get rid of tyranatar. Dragon Pulse hurts Flygon and Salamence as well as Latias. While Explosion allows him to go out with a boom. Also his imunity to fire type attacks and his good typing helps support the team.

This team looks very solid at first glance. fairly good team synergy, with at least one resistance to each type.

Azelf:
Very solid lead, not too much I can recommend here.

Swampert:
I don't like the option of Stone Edge here. Ice Beam and Earthquake hit 2 of the 4 types that rock hits, super effectively. You could try a Curse / Rest combination, as you currently have no pokemon who can take Status:

swampert.png

Swampert @ Leftovers
Relaxed: 252HP/40DEF/216SP.DEF
Rest/Curse/Sleep Talk/Waterfall

This set is designated to absorb status, while bolstering an already solid Defense and Attack. After about 3 or 4 boosts, the only way to get rid of swampert is to trick a choice item onto him, send in a kingdra or ludicolo (4x water resists), or have a pokemon like celebi threaten with Grass Knot. However, most of these threats are covered by both Latias and Heatran.

Latias:
On all CM or LO Latias, Timid is the prefered nature because it allows latias to outspeed a real biggie: Naive Infernape (NP versions can have fun with your team when Heatran is gone).

Scizor:
If you were to maximize your SPEED evs, you would be able to outspeed Adamant Tyranitar, which allows you to U-turn to Heatran for respectable damage and a Flash Fire boost. Superpower works somewhat against the concept of SD Scizor: to remain slightly bulky and to retain your Attack boosts. Switch out Superpower for Brick Break.

Porygon2: Seems like a fun set! I would personally go with Choice Specs because most physical sweepers could actually find a use for a speed boost, where Choice Specs totally screws them over. Be slightly careful of the dreaded Bait-tar, who will gladly take your Specs.

Heatran: Quick nitpick: I would recommend Overheat over Fire Blast here for 2 reasons. One, Overheat is more powerful than Fire Blast. Two, it is more accurate. I know you will argue that 2 Fire Blasts are better than 2 Overheats, and I agree. However, Heatran is a hit and runner on this team. He will rarely use Overheat twice.

I really like this team so far, and expect to see improvement! Good Luck!

Thank you very much I will try to obtain the correct latias and fix my movepools. Just a side note, my team here is how it is on Shoddy and almost how it is on my WiFi team, the only reason it is different is because my battling team is on my diamond and I don't have my platinum with me at my dorms and dont have a way to transfer them to platinum right now for the move tutor moves and some of the tms. Thanks for teh advice, I agree with the changes you suggested and I will try them out.

I only have to comments to add im afraid..

Why does Azelf have 28 IVs yet max speed..it doesnt make sense at all

And like the above poster said..Brick break over superpower and try bug-bite over pursuit..It get a stab, technition boost and can also steal berrys..making him more destructable..but it ghosts are a problem....Keep with pursuit

Sorry its not a long rate..but good luck!

And like the above poster said..Brick break over superpower and try bug-bite over pursuit..it wil still hit ghost for SE and get a technition boost..a more realiable move over

SOrry its not a long rate..but good luck!

No bug moves don't hit ghost for super effective damage it's the exact opposite it's not very effective dude don't rate if you have no idea of what you are talking about

Sorry..I was getting it mixed up with psychic (because its usually what pursuit it used for, Psychic pokemon)...sorry so ignore my above comment..

Anyway another thing you could try is thunderbolt over surf on latias..It could give pesky waters the dispatch and gyarados..But then again you have porygon2 so..just an option really..
