New to OU rmt

Hello and im orbpom. I normally lurk in the lower tiers due to I have not yet made an ou team. I lost interest in the tier since gen 4 and now want to have a rebound. I have made this team to fit my playstyle of tons of predictions/switches. Here is an in-depth look in my team.

DAT BIG THREAT
haxorus.jpg

Haxorus@ Lum Berry
Trait: Mold Breaker
EV: 252 Atk 220 SpE 36 HP
Adamant (+ Atk - SpA)
Dragon Dance
Outrage
Brick Break
Earthquake

I love this fucking animal. Dragonite is so overrated but haxorus is imo much better. The point of this set is to get at least 1 dragon dance up and watch that attack skyrocket. At +1 he can outspeed alot of the metagame and begin to hit everything with at least neutral damage. At =`+1 it can 1hko dnite with some rocks help and even crush max hp max def blissey in 1 shot! Lum berry is for of course to not be confused, but also helps with blissey because it may want to toxic haxorus, then boom. The ev's allow haxorus to raise to 432 attack without a dance! Dragondance is the signature of the set. Outrage is superb STAB attack which is pb&j with haxorus. Brick break is for steels like skarmory who otherwise wall me. Earthquake is fantastic coverage which hits metagross and scizor fantastic. Overall this is one of my favorite pokemon and may sweep a team late game if they are not prepared

DAT SPECIAL MONSTER
espeon.jpg

Espeon@ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Bounce
EV:252 SpA 252 SpE 4 HP
Timid (+ SpE - AtK)
Calm Mind
Psychic
Hidden Power Fire
Shadow Ball

Espeon should be in freakin ubers. This set allows espeon to be so bulky while still handing out attacks at ease. My main reason for using it is to stop hazards and other attacks like taunt, but espeon still has a niche. He is diverse, he walls pokemon without priority and can 1hko SpD ferrothorn while also 1hko conkeldurr. Life orb guarantees i rape my opponent with my base 130 SpA. Speed is her game, and if she didnt have it i would not use it. Calm mind raises her SpD and SpA to levels unheard, so she can obliverate most of the metagame. Psychic is to hit conkeldurr hard, which i think it better then psyshock. Hp fire is to 1kho ferrothorn which is so common, and people expecting hp fighting on this girl will soon regret they did. Shadow ball is coverage and may hit opposing espeons hard. Even though she may be fragile, she is one of the most important members of my team to shut down the enemies strategy.

DAT REVENGE KILLER
landorus.jpg

Landorus@ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
Naive (+ SpE - SpD)
EV: 252 SpE 252 Atk 4 SpA
Earthquake
Stone Edge
U-Turn
Hidden Power Ice

Landorus has everything my team needs. He outspeeds all 100 base speed scarfers which are abundant. The reason i use him over terrakion is because U-turn and immunity to spikes fits my playstyle more. Scarf landorus is the best set because it may be one of the best scarfers in the game. The Ev's are boatload in attack and speed to make sure he is a type of ( hit hard then gtfo fast). Earthquake is STAB and great on him, so that is the main attack of choice. Stone edge adds to the "stone-quake" combo that is great for volcarona and to 1hko salamence. U-turn is amazing to scout and then go to the appropiate counters. HP ice is for gliscor and that fucking dragonite. Landorus is a fantastic member to my team and serves as a great check to rotom-w.

DAT SUPPORTER

tentacruel.jpg

Tentacruel@ Black Sludge
Trait: Rain Dish
Calm (+ SpD - AtK)
EVs:252 HP 236 SpD 20 SpE
Substitute
Toxic
Rapid Spin
Surf

Who would think one of the most common pokemon would be so good? If my opponent brings a rain team it is a nightmare for them, because im gaining rain dish hp and black sludge which means im like a wall. I first thought of using toxic spikes but my last pokemon might be offended when he tries to status something. I love this set because it puts tentacruels support and defenses in bold letters. The jellyfish is fast, it can outspeed other tentacruels and some gliscors with little speed investment. Substitute is my original trademark which is good on a wall, and fantastic while im gaining health back by the second, which is fantastic synergy. Toxic is for blissey and walls like snorlax which i can stall out. Rapid spin is KEY because i do tons of switching and in case espeon is down i can spin away the hazards. I go surf over scald for extra damage and to make sure i dont burn something i want poisoned, and all that jazz. I use tentacruel to sponge special attacks like draco from latios and volt switch from pesky rotom. Overall i find my set very useful, since nobody wants to face a tentacruel behind a sub

DAT TROLLFACE

sableye.jpg

Sableye@ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
Calm (+ SpD - -Atk)
EV: 252 HP 252 SpD 4 Spe
Will-O-Wisp
Substitute
Recover
Taunt

Trolololololol. With the new ability prankster all of sableyes moves are with priority, crippling mostly all of the enemies pokemon. I put more defensive ev's in to live 2 bullet punches from scizor. Will-o-wisp is fantastic to kill haxorus, scizor, and all other offensive threats.. Recover might make people rage quit, because without priority this thing is a bitch to take down, much worse then a skarm-bliss combo. I would say sableye has fantastic synergy because he can cripple physical threats my team probably has trouble handling. Taunt is a very good option to handle other taunt users, hazard abusers, and TR reuniclius. Taunt is a great option with the other moves because he will need to attack or switch out, and i can set up a sub on the switch. Sableye is another supporter on my team, and i can say i would never replace a solid member of my team with anyone else.

DAT EVERYTHING
metagross.jpg

Metagross@ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
Impish (+ Def - SpA)
EV: 252 HP 218 Def 32 Atk 8 SpE
Stealth Rock
Ice Punch
Meteor Mash
Bullet Punch

In every way i find metagross superior to scizor. Hosting fantastic bulk and offensive, while still outspeeding scizor, it clearly is a better pokemon. I originally had a bulky agiligross, but pointed out by some members is that it was a little gimicky, and i needed rocks to be able to compete with some threats. Rocks is standard as i need them for multiscale dnite and other pokemon which will be u-turning. Ice punch is for dnite in case landorus runs into an unexpected scarfer, and for gliscor. Meteor mash is great STAB and is probably the main attack of choice. Bullet punch is to kill off anything lower then 25%. If you guys can help me improve this guy furthermore please suggest anything. I run a bulky set on him as he is one of my defensive walls, and i love the "bulky offense" metagross and normally keep him around for a while. I can outspeed a stand gross and preceed set up rocks/attack. Im faster then banded scizor, and can come into play in many occasions.

Well thats my team, remember i am still getting into OU after the lower tiers. I would love constructive criticism but NOT trolls, and it will help me improve my team. I will edit all the changes in bold so hopefully i get some great help! One thing i didnt mention is the way i use opponents weather for my own benefit. If someone brings rain, tentacruel and metagross will have a field day. Sandstorm helps my landorus, and sun helps me troll ferrothorn even more. I dont see any large weaknesses at all, but no team is perfect. Anyways thanks a bunch!

the current meta just really hurts the versatility of a defensive agiligross, as clever as it is. since everything on this team has a clear purpose from your descriptions and you aren't looking to change entire pokemon, i have a few suggestions (one of such is changing metagross)

so with meta, i think a set of stealth rock, meteor mash, hp fire, explosion with an expert belt, and some evs invested into both special attack and attack makes sense. once looking at the team, i felt sr was a necessity on this team, mainly because how well it helps haxorus and tenta/sableye who will be forcing a lot of switches, and espeon is not reliable enough to be magic bouncing sr for you. on that same note, one of the biggest issues for this team in my eyes was skarmory, not for its spiking ability, but just because its a huge nuisance to landorus and haxorus, and you need those big boys to sweep. i contemplated suggesting eq on it, but unfortunately rotom-w is a huge pain in the ass for you (particularly scarfed varients), so having meta being able to boom on them makes your job a whole lot easier (it also means you get a solid way of beating scizor + rotom-w, depending on which one you need gone). the ev spread should be tinkered with to see what gets you the most kills, but this meta is handling a lot of what you had to deal with before but helps support the team too.

im really not a fan of sub confuse ray sableye, its too easy to get past and it doesnt beat reuniclus...with metas change to help beat scizor too, i think turning sableye into calm with max spD and HP, and replacing sub and confuse ray with taunt and foul play, eases the pressure vs big opposing threats like scarf darm on sun teams (just predict this now and foul play it on the switch)...with sr, and espeon hopefully batting back spikes, taunt is forcing plenty of switches and it allows you to actually beat reuniclus quickly instead of just wasting time. taunt also gives you a much better stall breaker, and that sdef allows you to beat trick room reuniclus as well as the rotom-w i alluded to earlier.

i hope that keeps what you wanted to do with the team but also gives you a little bit of a push to overcome a lot of current teams out there, cool team

Thanks for the rate. I was considering switching confuse ray for taunt to handle TR reuniclus since i really dont have a way to beat it. I'll switch metagross's set if a few more people agree with you. I know it can be gimicky, but surprise is a very good part of the game. Anyways thanks :)

I like your playstyle and your way to use landorus and metagross.
anyway, i suggest you to run ice punch over thunder punch/earthquake for metagross, only for dragons and more coverage. furthermore, yu should replace brick break with doble chop/stone edge/fire fang on haxorus: outrage is more powerful of a super effective brick break, and fire fang can hit ferrothorn and skarmory very hard. also you need stealth rock to beat multiscale dragonite, you can run it on metagross or try to replace tentacruel with something that can do a similar function with stealth rocks. good team anyways :) good luck

I would put in firefang to deal with skarmory, but it doesnt learn it lol. Added rocks to metagross, and some other moves.

I'm not gonna use explosion because metagross is the reason i stay around because i have long games, and sacraficing my best wall for a kill will really hinder me.
