New Trick room Team.

First I'd like to say that I'm not a very amazing competitive player, so this is one of the three other teams I've created. I've battled with this and I really enjoy it. I'd like to share my ideas and also see what other people think of my new team. So without further ado, I present my new trick room team.

------------------------------------

My Lead
bronzong.gif

Bronzong @ Light Clay
Heatproof
31/31/31/31/31/0
6 HP / 252 DEF / 252 SpD

~Trick Room
~Light Screen
~Reflect
~Explosion

This probably isn't the best pokemon to be using as a lead but he's still really tank.
I chose Bronzong because of the fact that he is tank enough to set out what his job is.
Put up defenses, add the trick room, and explosion to switch into the next poke.

I usually lead off with a Reflect/Light Screen depending on the pokemon I'm up against
This way I don't take too much damage from the first attack,
Follow up with a trick room and then depending on how much HP I have left,
either explosion or add other Reflect/Light Screen

------------------------------------

My Set-up
dusclops.gif

Dusclops @ Eviolite
Pressure
31/31/31/31/31/0
252 HP / 128 DEF / 128 SpD

~Will-O-Wisp
~Painsplit
~Shadowball
~Trick Room

Personally I love Duskull/Dusclops. Probably one of my favourites through the 3rd Gen. When I read that Dusclops/Dusknoir was actually viable in certain teams.
I couldn't resist in putting it in. I'm using this poke to stall out any walls that I can't huff and puff my way down.
Will-O-Wisp to widdle down a bit of hp and painsplitting in case I take too much damage.
Shadowball is used I-C-E (In case of Emergency) and I try to get off a trickroom usually a few turns or on the turn I need to switch or am about to die)

------------------------------------

My Sweepers

mawile.gif
mawile-mega.gif

Mawile @ Mawilite
Intimidate → Huge Power
31/31/31/31/31/0
252 HP / 252 ATK / 6 DEF

~Play Rough
~Fire Fang (Thanks Mango)
~Stone Edge
~Sucker Punch

Mawile is probably my favourite physical attacker for a Trick Room team.
I chose it for numerous reasons. One being that as soon as it's out, you can reduce attack with Intimidate and the follow up with the Mega Evolve to get that Huge Power.
It still can have a lot of coverage and is definitely the Mega Evolution for a TR team. All while looking FABULOUS
------------------------------------

reuniclus.gif

Reuniclus @ Life Orb
Magic Guard
31/31/31/31/31/0
252 HP / 252 SpA / 6 DEF

~Focus Blast
~Psychic
~Shadow Ball
~Trick Room

I thought Reuniclus was a nice pick because it has an amazing SpA while also have a bit of bulkiness with it's HP stat
This is why I gave it trick room, in case something goes wrong and I've lost my other TR users
Although it has one less ability while it has trickroom, it still has some fairy decent coverage.

------------------------------------

rampardos.gif

Rampardos @ Air Balloon (Pesky Earthquakes)
Mold Breaker
31/31/31/31/31/0
252 HP / 252 Att / 6 DEF

~Iron Head
~Crunch
~Head Smash
~Hammer Arm

I pretty much chose this pokemon because it's stats are asking to be in a Trick Room team, crazy attack with low speed.
Not much else too it sadly :/ I did get kinda lazy on choosing this pokemon instead of thinking for myself and trying something new.

------------------------------------

(And I know this last one is a bit on the cheap side but I had to try it out for myself :/ )

clamperl.gif

Clamperl @ Deep Sea Tooth
Shell Armor
31/0/31/31/30/0

~Hidden Power (Bug)
~Surf
~Ice Beam
~Protect

Clamperl is pretty much broken and I wanted to try it out on the competitive scene. It can't learn many moves
which is kinda bad but hidden power can save the day with some coverage. Naturally, this poke can have a maximum SpA of 138
but with DST, it can leave it at 276, which is leaves it at a higher SpA than a Deoxys-A. Of course there is a bad side,
being it's pretty weak defensively and has very little coverage.

------------------------------------

I'd appreciate feedback, and I'd also appreciate any comments about how cheap I am for using a DST Clamperl. Also I'll try to answer any and all questions. Thanks.

Have at least three lines of information about each Pokemon, you need to justify why you chose a particular pokemon instead of just telling us that Swords Dance boosts attack;
Just want to make sure you are aware of this rule for the forums, and it also really helps raters with figuring out how your team works.

I'm wondering if this is built for any specific smogon tier, or if you have pokemon restrictions, mostly because that helps in suggesting possible fixes. I'm just going to go through the team and say what I see from the sets.

Bronzgong was a wonderful pokemon last gen for Trick Room, and steel-typing was a blessing with the dark/ghost resist. But now with the nerf, I (personally) have found it struggling to do much, it doesn't resist as much and without an offensive presence really struggles to find a free turn to set up TR. Suicide leads and TR are really not very good friends because that puts an insane amount of pressure for your other sweepers to set up Trick Room many times. The only Suicide TR lead I would recommend would be Focus Sash Chandelure, because Base145 sp attack is nothing to laugh at.

Eviolite Dusclops is good because it has ridiculously high defenses, but that defense investment means one thing: it has virtually no offensive presence. You won't be making very good use of your TR turns with Eviolite Dusclops, and your set doesn't even have an attack which renders it complete taunt bait. If you want an offensive ghost with decent defenses, the next best one is Cofagrigus, who (thanks to the steel-nerf) now gets pretty decent neutral coverage with just shadow ball, so can afford to run Will-o-wisp along with NP and TR.

Mega Mawile is beautiful and a blessing for Trick Room teams everywhere. My only suggestion is to run Fire Fang over Iron Head so you can get more coverage (and actually hit steel-types).

On Reuniclus, your set looks wonderful. I prefer Psyshock over Psychic just to hit specially bulky pokemon harder, but thats really comes down to preference.

Rampardos seems like a really good choice for a TR team, but isn't really suited for the more competitive (Higher Tier) environment because its got pretty bad defenses (priority doesn't care about TR). Granted it has a ridiculously high attack stat, but I feel like the set could use some tweaking. Mold Breaker is kinda confusing because you don't have any moves that would really take advantage of it (Earthquake really only one that stands out that could, maybe Fire Punch for Thick Fat), so an ability change to Sheer Force would give you a bit more power (granted it negates effects), and open up the possibility of running LO to further increase that power. Head Smash seems like a very bad idea to me, since you lack any recovery and will wear Rampardos down very quickly. Rock Slide works as STAB (along with gaining Sheer Force boost), and while may be a bit weaker, doesn't kill you with 1/2 recoil damage.

Clamperl... I don't know enough about to actually comment.

Sorry I'm kinda new to actually posting on forums, I'll go back and fix it up.

This wasn't built for a specific tier, like I said I'm also new to the competitive scene so I don't know too much about battling, this was more just to get me started in using a trick room team, I really enjoy using a team like this.

Also, thanks for the feedback, it'll help me on improving my team :3

And, personally I think Clamperl is a broken pokemon with it's SpA being higher than Deoxys-A when both have reached their highest SpA.

Run hp fire/grass over bug, and replace protect with something, doesnt matter what. Protect just wastes trick room turns. I know it has 0 movepool, the only moves that do something are confuse ray and toxic. elohel

Prolly toxic imo.

Im sorry to ruin your dream, but Duskclops is very unviable this generation. He wasn't good last generation, but with Knock Off rushing around in every single team, even Porygon2 ran out of success. If you even WANT a eviolite-user, try Doublade. Doublade has 150 base Def (Better then Dusclops) and is a strong hitter as well.
Doublade@Eviolite
Nature: Adamant/Brave
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
- Shadow Sneak
- Gyro Ball
- Swords Dance
- (Move of choice)

He wasn't good last generation, but with Knock Off rushing around in every single team, even Porygon2 ran out of success
That is a bit of an overstatement, since I've seen a fair amount of Eviolite pokemon (Chansey & Porygon2) running around OU without too much trouble, but yes no one disagrees that the Knock-off buff did hurt the eviolite users. I'd run Sacred Sword as the last move on DOublade, give it some way to hit Dark/Normal/Steel-types really hard.

If you are looking into a TR pokemon, Eelektross is IMO a top choice because, while it may not exactly be ridiculously hard-hitting, it is a complete wild-card pokemon that can do almost anything and leaves your opponent guessing for a while. It also stacks up well against leads like Swampert, Crobat, Forretress, and the like with its insane coverage/movepool. The set that I think works best is:
Eelektross @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 220 HP / 36 Atk
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Volt Switch
- Flamethrower
- Giga Drain
- Superpower
You get ridiculous coverage, as well as a very hard hitting mixed sweeper. You can switch Superpower for Aqua Tail/Crunch/Dragon Claw to avoid the stat drops, but you get more power output with Superpower. Volt Switch is to pivot out into a setter, Giga Drain is to recover HP (and kill swamperts), and Flamethrower is a really good move (fire breathing eels haha).

ps: Eelektross has no weaknesses

I agree with Mango Smoothie about Eelektross being a very solid pick to add to your team, but I have a few other suggestions.

I've used Ramaprados a couple times and you would better off with something with more defensives stats that can still pull its weight in Trick Room such as Conkeldurr, Rhyperior, even Landourous-T are all very solid physical sweeper complements to Mawile, though pretty unorginal. They fall slightly short of Ramp's power but make up for in their bulk. Rhyperior and Landoge can set up Stealth Rock as well which makes them very, very useful for wearing down more defensive teams.

TBH, I think they're are much better choices for special nukes than Clamperl, the reason being is that even though Deep Sea Tooth makes Clamperl as strong as Deoxys-A it doesn't get any item boost meaning other nukes such as Exploud or Heatran hit much harder and have better bulk with their items. I think either choice is a very solid special Nuke that have the ability to tear down pokemon that wall Mawile such as Mega-Venasaur. There are plenty of other special nukes I could post as well if you're so inclined.

252+ SpA Deep Sea Tooth Clamperl Surf vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mew: 222-262 (65.1 - 76.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Exploud Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mew: 295-348 (86.5 - 102%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Exploud Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mew: 255-302 (74.7 - 88.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Heatran Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mew: 257-304 (75.3 - 89.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Here are IMO the best TR sets for all the pokemon mentioned above.

Rhyperior @ Assault Vest
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Megahorn
- Fire Punch

or...

Rhyperior @ Leftovers/Life Orb
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Megahorn
- Stealth Rock
Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Mach Punch
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
Exploud @ Choice Specs
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Boomburst
- Flamethrower
- Surf
- Focus Blast
Heatran @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock / Ancientpower
- Flash Cannon / Ancientpower
- Earth Power

Of those sets, I think Heatran or Conkeldurr would suit your team the best because M-Mawile is going to have Will-O-wisps aimed at it all day, and both heatran and conkeldurr can benefit from that. If you do opt for heatran, I'd change Bronzgong to Levitate because that would open up a HUGE EQ weakness (3 pokemon weak to EQ...). Conkeldurr doesn't add very many new weaknesses, so he would fit fairly nicely, along with the priority he brings.

I was personally thinking about replacing Bronzong with Carbink and Rampardos with Pangoro. Any thoughts?

Also, I kinda dislike using legendaries in teams seeing as their stats are pretty much unchangeable from when you catch them, so have a 5IV 0Spe legendary is pretty rare. Idk call me stupid lol.
