So I searched the forum for this and didn't seem to find anything on it so I decided to make a thread for discussion of the next generation consoles, the Xbox One and PS4 as well as new information regarding both of these. The Xbox One is scheduled to release November 2013 while the PS4 is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2013. The Xbox One starting price will be at $499 dollars while the PS4 will be $399. So what are your favorite features so far of these new consoles and which one will you be getting?
 
I kind of feel like this thread is secretly supposed to be some kind of WiiU/Nintendo trashing thread.
 
I'll consider a PS4 in holiday 2014 and maybe a Wii U around that time as well. No next-gen console has any feature that I am dying to experience, but I care too much about console exclusives to strictly go PC for the next 5 years or so. It'd be difficult to get me to buy an XB1, even though I prefer Microsoft exclusives over Sony's. Even if Microsoft dropped the price of the XB1 to $399, I'd still be hesitant to buy one because it could be $299 without the Kinect. Buying a console with a peripheral that I know I'll never use (and that keeps the price high) is quite frustrating. If Microsoft released a $399 XB1 SKU without the Kinect (which they will not do) I would purchase it over the PS4, however.

Agreed I never really liked the Kinect too much and never find myself using it

yeah, the new consoles seem like very incremental upgrades. Going to stick with my PC until there are enough quality next-gen exclusives to really justify it.
