Dieses Pokemon hat keine Lust mehr sich zum Affen zu machen und steckt die Bühne in Brand! Monferno ist ein facettenreicher Angreifer, der in der Lage ist mit U-turn zu pivotieren, Gegner mit Knock Off zu verkrüppeln und dank seiner fantastischen STAB-Kombination starke Gegner wie Tinkatuff, Thwackey und Dunsparce aus dem Weg zu räumen. Knock Off ist besonders gut im NFE-Metagame, da die meisten der Walls Eviolite nutzen und Monferno so Teamkameraden den Sweep ermöglicht. A propos Teamkameraden: Tinkatuff und Frogadier sind fantastische Partner, die Entry Hazarads setzen, welche die Gegner zermürben. Tinkatuff im Speziellen kann Gegner paralysieren, was es Monferno erlaubt schneller zu sein, als Bedrohungen wie Frogadier, Drakloak und Girafarig. Letzteres ist auch ein exzellenter Partner, weil es gut gegen Gift-Typen wie Mareanie und Koffing ist, die ansonsten eine Herausforderung für Monferno sind. Thwackey ist eine zweite Pivot-Option, die in der Lage ist Gegner wie Quaxwell und Frogadier zu handhaben, während es davon profitiert, dass Monferno in Will-O-Wisp von Koffing einwechseln kann.
