nidoking team

yes i like nidoking and victini so i made a team with them together. i think they have very good synergy together as nidoking only struggles with ferrothorn blissey and some other things which victini destroys. yes

this is the team: :nidoking: :victini: :mandibuzz: :tapu koko: :kartana: :clefable:
Nidoking @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Sludge Wave
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
Nidoking is one of the most powerful breakers in ss ou even though it is only in uu. the shiny is blue and it looks very cool. life orb and sheer force give you choice specs levels of power while being able to switch moves, essentially allowing you to ohko or 2hko most, if not all pokemon in the tier. sludge wave and earth power are stab, while ice beam and thunderbolt are coverage moves to hit pokemon like landorus gar chomp and slowking on the switch, dealing massive damage.

Victini @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- Glaciate
- U-turn
Victini is the second part of the offensive core of this team. heavy duty boots are used so you do not take 25% from rocks. the eve used are meant to maximise the damage output on v create and bolt strike. i found that glaciate hit hard even with the special attack drop. vcreate is basically a nuke: it can deal massive amounts of damage even if the opponent resists. bolt strike is there for coverage hitting bulky waters, and glaciate hits dragons, flyings, grounds, and landorus.

Mandibuzz @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe
Impish Nature
- Foul Play
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Roost
Mandibuzz is the mandatory flying pokemon for our team as 3 of our pokemon are weak to ground, meaning that we need some way to resist it. It also forms a defensive core with clefable, being able to tank many physical hits while hitting back very hard with foul play. knock off is used to cripple some pokemon by removing their items, while roost is used to stall and regain hp. uturn is used to pivot out into our frailer breakers which are kartana and nidoking.
Tapu Koko @ Light Clay
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt
Tapu Koko is another pivot to help bring our breakers in easily. It has the light clay as its held item so that reflect and light screen can last longer. electric surge is the only ability it has, and also helps to strengthen bolt strike on victini and tbolt on nidoking. reflect and light screen are for allowing the team to take less damage, while uturn allows it to pivot out into a more offensive pokemon. the ev spread is to minimise damage taken while allowing koko to outspeed things.
Kartana @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Sword
- Smart Strike
- Leaf Blade
- Knock Off
kartana is this teams speed control and it can also easily snowball and destroy entire teams. since we are running a choice scarf we can outspend many things except faster scarf pokemon or regieleki. the ev spread given allows for maximum damage while being fast. leaf blade and smart strike are stabs that allow kartana to hit many things. knock off is removal and dark type coverage, while sacred sword can hit steel types that would otherwise wall this pokemon.
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Teleport
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
Clefable is the final pokemon of the team and here we are running a purely defensive set. leftovers allow clefable to consistently heal up damage, while magic guard prevents it from taking damage from things like entry hazards or toxic/burn. the evs used make a specially defensive tank. Wish and teleport allow for any member of the team to be healed up consistently, while stealth rock is this teams entry hazard and toxic is used to cripple set up sweepers like volcarona.

so yes. i am thinking of making koko and possibly clefable more offensive sets, and i am struggling with speed control having only kartana. may i know if thee are good changes to make? also i have no setup sweepers, is that bad? any feedback is appreciated thank you.

You wasted 4 attack evs on your full special nidoking. I don't think dual screen koko fits on the team as you don't have any set up sweeper nor weakness policy user, better use a normal koko set. You may need Defog on Mandibuzz because many members of the team dislike stealth rock, include Mandibuzz itself after it got knocked off. I like the concept of nidoking and tini tho.

Hi, i will try helping with your team :)
Nido and Victini are cool mons but i like them on more specific teams but let's see what we can do.

:nidoking: Set looks great but let's change Thunderbolt with Flamethrower. Thunderbolt hits Birds like Tornadus, Corviknight and Water mons like Toxapex and Fini. As you can see, Ice Beam and Sludge Wave already cover those mons, so Flamethrower might be helpful for steel types and especially for Ferrothorn.

:victini: Standard set and it's great, maybe we can run Naive on it for Glaciate but Jolly is fine, I also don't love it cause it's most likely helfpul for 2 mons which you have a whole team behind for but it's fine. You can maybe try Energy Ball + Naive for Gastrodon but it's really Specific so let's keep it as it is.

:mandibuzz: I love it but there are simply better options. Corviknight doesn't need Boots so he can carry Leftovers (Rocky Helmet / Shed Shell are also viable) and also is immune to Toxic. I would just replace and use him with the Defog set. Tornadus-T is also a great option but i think Corvi is more solid to use and can help vs Weavile.

:Tapu-koko: This set just doesn't fit here. Screens are for HO teams and this is simply not, so we should replace it with a pivot set. I do think tho that we should use another mon like Pex, Buzzwole or Gastrodon. Gastro improves rain matchup which at the moment is bad while the other 2 can help handling Kartana and Weavile which can become scary, with Buzzwole helping vs offensive/band Ttar which looks strong vs this team, and all of those 3 can switch on Urshifu as it kinda claims every time he comes in.

:kartana: Good set and Scarf is needed, just make it Jolly.

:clefable: WishPass isn't really good this gen, I would probably try a standard physdef utility set with Moonblast, Knock Off, Soft-Boiled and Thunder Wave/Rocks. As item we can even try Sticky Barb as we have 2 Knock Off's on the team and it can help Nidoking or Victini by wearing down annoying mons such as Blissey and Fini, or Rocky Helmet to handle Weavile and Urshifu better and still doing chip damage on mons like Lando after knocking their item off.

I think we can make something like this: https://pokepast.es/866e22cbd9b7282c
This shouldn't lost to Ghost Spam and should be able to handle almost everything, Lele, Weavile, Urshifu and Kart are manageable and so is sand or rain. This might actually struggle agains stall but Sticky Barb Clef should help wearing a mon down, alternatively you can even try Encore/Toxic>Glaciate on Victini but those are niche moves.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any question!
