Ninja's OU RMT

This is my team for Shoddy. Please be kind(no abusive or degrading comments) when rating. Please be aware I DON'T play Shoddy as much as I do Wi-Fi/Local battles which is a different metagame.

swampert.png

Swampert
Ability: Torrent
Relaxed @Leftovers
240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpA

- Earthquake
- Surf
- Stealth Rock
- Roar

The lead. Swampert seems to be working great as a lead for me, countering many common leads including Metagross. Earthquake lets me deal with the every increasing steals. STAB surf hits anything that resists or is immune to EQ. Stealth Rock as is usual standard for leads and Roar lets me abuse SR damage or to reset any stat boasts.

Generally I try to save Swampy for later as his ground typing lets me switch in on electric attacks which is useful for my special sweeper Starmie.

spiritomb.png

Spirtomb
Ability: Pressure
Careful @Leftovers
252 HP / 140 Atk / 116 SpD

- Sucker Punch
- Pain Split
- Pursuit
- Will-O-Wisp

Spiritomb is an awesome Pokemon. His main purpose is to switch in on any of his immunities such as fighting or psychic and go for the KO and/or WoW. Sucker Punch has saved me tons of times agains faster and powerful sweepers. Pain Split is some what useful. Pursuit doesnt get much use besides rare running Starmies and Alakazams. I usually use WoW as my first attack unless against a Guts Pokemon or something.

He helps save Porygon-2 and Snorlax from being KO'ed from fighting type moves and the such. He's defeated quite a few Salamences too.

porygon2.png

Porygon-2
Ability: Trace
Bold @Leftovers
252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SpA

- Thunder Wave
- Recover
- Ice Beam
- Discharge

Porygon-2 is quite amazing. He's mainly there for any Vaporeon, Jolteon, Heatran, Salamence or Gyarados due to Trace. He's also a good user of Thunder Wave, spoiling the plans of Choice Scarfers, Dragon Dancers or Speed Boasters. One of the best Salamence counters IMO.

Recover is a great asset that has saved me numerous times. Discharge is my main attack as is Ice Beam depending on typing.

kingdra.png

Kingdra
Ability: Swift Swim
Adament @Leftovers/Life Orb
252 Attack / 252 Speed

- Substitute
- Outrage
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance

Kingdra is greatly under estimated. Sub+Dragon Dance = death of enemy. I often use Kingdra once Salamence/Flygon is gone and process with Sub+Dragon Dance.

Outrage as my main attack after a DD or two, although Waterfall is also used quite abit because I don't get locked into it.

metagross.png

Metagross
Ability: Clear Body
Impish @Shucca Berry
252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Speed

- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Ice Punch

Yes, a non lead Metagross. Metagross is primarly used for late sweeping but also used to switch into any Dragon type attacks(a choice between Porygon-2 and Metagross usually)

Bullet Punch to pick off any frail or low HP pokemons. Earthquake lets me deal with other Steel types etc and is usually my main attack to things that are not immune to it. Explosion is used when I think I can't win with the current match up or I want to destroy a really annoying tank. Ice Punch lets me deal with Gliscor if I survive from full-health(with Shucca Berry) or any Dragons/Flying types.

Metagross IMO shouldnt be used as a lead and kept as a surprise as he is VERY useful mid to late game.

snorlax.png

Snorlax
Ability: Thick Fat
Careful @Leftovers
168 HP / 120 Def / 220 SpD

- Body Slam
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Curse

Forget Blissey! Snorlax is a great special wall that only really fails against anything that has a fighting type move. Body Slam is my main attack, the 30% paralysis is a great bonus and usually wins me the match, especially against Blisseys. Curse isnt used as much as I'd like but it has helped. Earthquake deals with Steels while Crunch prevents me from being walled by Levitating Ghosts. I've been thinking of Self-Destruct > Earthquake though.

If I predict a fighting move, I switch into Spirtomb if it's still alive

Thanks for your time =)

Well, i guess I can suggest that you drop Pursuit on Spiritomb and add Shadow Ball. I used to use that Kingdra, and he is definately underrated and rapes face. If Curse doesn't get much use, maybe i can suggest adding Fire Punch and making it Banded, or you could use Pursuit instead of Curse.

Is there a reason to drop Pursuit on Spiritomb and add Shadow Ball? Alot of things do switch out of Spiritomb.

I really would prefer banding Snorlax. I guess Pursuit would be better as I already have Earthquake to deal with Steels and Skarmory won't be taking much from Fire Punch anyway.

Hi,

the first thing that I've noticed when looking at your team is the lack of a ground immunity, pokemons like Mamoswine and Flygon are going to be a pain for your team. Another quite evident weakness is the lack of a solid Scizor switch in: Scizor's u-turns can really decimate your team, while it can easily come in on P-2 and Snorlax. To catch two birds with one stone, I suggest to run Rotom-A in place of Spiritomb, obviously Rotom-A can't be used on WiFi, so this suggestion is only for shoddy. So:

Rotom@leftovers
nature: bold
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe
-thunderbolt
-will-o-wisp
-rest
-sleep talk

Rotom can switch easily into Mamoswine and Scizor and will also provide an useful status absorber. The EVs are to guarantee a long durability while retaining the ability to outspeed even max speed Scizor, to burn it before it can hit with pursuit.

Now, without Spiritomb's pursuit, you need something to trap and kill Latias and Gengar, I suggest to give Metagross pursuit in place of explosion, and I'd also consider meteor mash over ice punch, which is really useful only for Zapdos, considering that meteor mash + bullett punch is more than enough to take down dragons.

Now, the only evident weakness that your team has is Infernape, everything can be 1-2hkoed by it. Definitely consider replacing Snorlax with a defensive calm mind Latias:

Latias@leftovers
nature: timid
EVs: 128 HP / 128 SpA / 252 Spe
-calm mind
-recoever
-dragon pulse
-surf

Latias is a perfec counter for Infernape and is able to sponge most special attacks. She also provides another useful ground immunity and a good check for Zapdos.

Hope this helps.

GL!

He still needs to take special hits; I'd take out CM on it, and put HP Fire over it. You lose the tie with Gengar and such, but you hit Scizor who thinks it can come in and Pursuit, and beats what it needs to. I'd also give it 110 HP evs and split the rest evenly between SAtk and SDef.

Also, I'd replace Porygon 2 with a scarf Jirachi - it can revenge-kill Gyarados, tie with +1 Flygon and Salamence (with a Jolly Nature) and abuse flinches lategame with Iron Head. Furthermore it has far more resistances to take advantage of. Ice Punch/Thunderpunch/Iron Head are musts, and the last spot can be between Fire Punch and Trick.
