[OVERVIEW]
Noivern swoops into RU as a premier speedy Pokemon that can fill both offensive and defensive roles. Due to Noivern's resistance to common offensive types like Fire, Water, and Fighting, it can be a great defensive sponge by switching into both special and physical attackers such as Volcanion and Slither Wing. It can then use this opportunity to remove entry hazards with Defog, chunk a switch-in with either Super Fang or Draco Meteor, or pivot on switch-ins with U-turn. It can outspeed and force out Pokemon such as Cyclizar, Hisuian Zoroark and Gengar, threatening them with Draco Meteor. Noivern can keep itself healthy with Roost, allowing it to come in multiple times per game in order to do its job. However, Noivern struggles with common Choice Scarf users such as Gardevoir and Galarian Zapdos, as they can outspeed and deal massive damage to it. Noivern can also struggle a lot with Fairy-types such as Mimikyu and Fezandipiti, which can switch into its main STAB option in Draco Meteor and hit it super effectively. Noivern also immensely struggles with bulky Pokemon such as Umbreon, Fezandipiti, and Registeel, as they can easily switch into it and either make progress against it or set up on it.

Other Options
====
Choice Specs with Boomburst and Tera Normal is an option on Noivern, allowing it to do massive damage to the opposing team once Steel- and Ghost-types have been removed. Switcheroo can be used alongside Choice Specs to cripple defensive Pokemon that Noivern can't break through, such as Chansey or Empoleon. Air Slash is a much more reliable STAB option than Hurricane, though it is much weaker and can fail to 2HKO even Pokemon with mediocre special bulk like Galarian Weezing.
Checks and Counters
====
**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Galarian Weezing and Gardevoir are massive pains for Noivern, as they can switch into its main STAB option in Draco Meteor. Fezandipiti can use Noivern as a setup opportunity as it can Roost off the damage from Super Fang, while threatening Noivern with Moonblast and Toxic Chain. Mimikyu in particular is extremely irritating for defensive Noivern, as it is immune to both Draco Meteor and Super Fang, meaning it can switch into any defensive Noivern set lacking Hurricane or Psychic Noise without taking any damage and threaten it out.
**Steel-types**: Noivern can struggle against Steel-types such as Jirachi, Magnezone, and Empoleon, since they can switch into Draco Meteor easily, only really fearing Flamethrower.
**Choice Scarf Users and Priority**: Common Choice Scarf users such as Gardevoir, Hisuian Zoroark, and Galarian Zapdos can outspeed Noivern and threaten it immensely. Priority users such as Bisharp and, especially, Mamoswine can do big damage to Noivern.
**Umbreon**: Umbreon is a big pain for Noivern, as Umbreon can easily take its attacks, use Wish to heal off its damage, and threaten it with Toxic. Taunt can prevent Umbreon from using Toxic against Noivern, but Foul Play still forces Noivern to use Roost repeatedly.
