XY OU Nolando returns: sandstall XY

Hello there everyone, I've been on and off here since gen 3 and I just came back from about a year and a half off. I originally was not going to post this team, as I threw it together without a great deal of thought and made some edits as I saw problems/needs. However, it has far surpasses my expectations and I wanted to post it here to see if I can make it any better and see if others actually thought it was truly viable. Been playing with it for about 3 days and I've steadily climbed to 1500 but I am still increasing at a fast pace. Hopefully I can get some pointers. Without further explanation:

Tyranatar @ Smooth Stone| Sand Stream
Relaxed | 248 HP/252 Def/8 SpD
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam
- Stone Edge
- Crunch

Tyranitar is my personal choice of sandstorm inducers. The residual damage from sandstorm racks up during stall and sandstorm is essential for Excadrill to work here. His basic role in the team is to stay alive as long as possible while setting up stealth rock and take some shots if he can get a cheap kill. I lead with him about 75% of the time to get entry hazards and sandstorm up ASAP. Stone edge and crunch are great stab moves. I chose I've beam because I don't need fire blast with the team composition and it allows me to catch some people off guard. I usually conceal that he has it until I can kill something important.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb| Poison Heal
Impish | 244 HP/28 Def/236 Spe
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Protect
- Substitute

My favorite stall pokemon all time. Toxic is a huge source of damage for this team. He forces a lot of switches and with good prediction I can get 2-3 opposing pokemon poisoned. He and Heatran are best friends and go together like bread and butter covering each other's weaknesses. I have considered and tried a taunt version but I much prefer the toxic version in this team.

Heatran @ Leftovers | Flash Fire
Calm | 248 HP/220 SpD/40 Spe
- Lava Plume
- Will-o-wisp
- Protect
- Roar

As I said above his synergy with Gliscor makes him impossible to pass up for this team. He takes most hits that Gliscor doesn't want to. Roar gives the team the ability to phase. Lava plume is standard stab. I like protect a lot because it's important for scouting and delaying a turn to let passive sandstorm/toxic damage rack up. Will-I-wisp is the move of the greatest debate for me. Burn is awesome for crippling physical sweepers but oftentimes I find myself wishing that I could poison a burned foe instead. Perhaps someone can recommend another move. Taunt is an obvious choice, but I'm not 100% sold on it. All in all he walls a lot of things the rest of the team can't.

Garchomp @ Garchompite| Rough Skin
Naughty | 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
- Earthquake
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Stone Edge

I needed someone with the ability to sweep and break down opposing walls. Mixchomp-mega is perfect for this. With the move set above he can dish out a ton of damage physically. And catch some opponents very off guard with the special moves especially fire blast.

Excadrill@ Life Orb | Sand Rush
Adamant | 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

This guy is usually my finisher. He depends on Tyranitar a great deal, hence the strategy more often than not is to keep those two alive until the end when the opposition is weakened enough for him to sweep. Alternatively I sometimes bring him in against opposing stall teams to rapid spin and give my stall the upper hand. I've found that he compliments Garchomp quite well as they can remove quite a few opponents that would give the other trouble. In essence I like to use one as early as the opportunity presents itself (if Tyranitar dies it's almost always Excadrill right after to take advantage of the sandstorm) and then use the other to end the game depending on which has the better opportunity early.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers | Iron Barbs
Impish | 252 HP/48 Def/208 SpD
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip

My last pokemon, I needed something to take water damage as well as someone to use spikes. Leech seed gives him good survivability. Heatran gladly takes any fire damage he might face. Some games I love having thunder wave and some games I hate it and feel like I have too much status on the team. Of all my pokemon this is the one I would be most open to changing out although I'd like to keep spikes and the water walking is much needed.

That's it. Again it wasn't perfectly thought out but the performance I've gotten out of it has really been a pleasant surprise. Maybe someone can give me some pointers to improve the team by pointing out some weaknesses and how to handle them better. I loved weather in previous generations but was sad to see that it had been nerfed in XY so I thought, "maybe I can make it viable" and it seems like it still is to a lesser extent. Hope you enjoyed it as this style seems a bit unorthodox nowadays.
