[Non-Pokebank OU] The Walking Dud

Hey guys, new member to the forums here. Having been creeping for a little while now and i really enjoyed reading and testing some of the teams that i've seen on here, so I thought it would be a good idea to create a RMT and ask you guys for some advice. I've been using this team for the last little while and to be honest, when i first put it together i though it was gonna be a complete dud (hence the thread name :P). But, i've played about 7-8 games with it and haven't had a single loss yet and its been really fun to play with. So without further ado, here's the team:

Cap'n Crunch (Tyranitar) @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

Mega Tyranitar. Probably the heart and sole of my team. He's probably one of my favourite mega's for the reason that he has a base 160 atk and he's bulky as hell. I usually lead with this guy because i fell like getting rocks up is really important with talonflame's everywhere. The EV's are put into SDef and health because i feel like with his awesome base stats its better to build him as a special wall (and also because the rest of my team does not eat special hits very well). I also like to switch him in on talonflame's because there isnt really much they can do to this guy.

Sharknado (Garchomp) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Fang
- Stone Edge

Scarfed Garchomp has been working out really awesome for me. Surprisingly, this guy has drawn alot of rage quits because people will leave in their mons that are 4x weak to rock thinking they can outspeed him. His four moves are pretty standard in my opinion, with the only thing maybe being changed is dragon claw to outrage but i feel like outrage wouldnt work with the scarf so well. oh and almost forgot, he's running the standard scarf ev's to provide him with as much speed as possible.

Operation Tip-to-Base (Cloyster) @ White Herb
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Shell Smash
- Ice Shard

This guy. This guy has won me soooo many games its ridiculous. Skill Link + white herb + shell smash = gg. Haven't run into anything yet thats been able to put a stop to this guy. I usually switch this guy in on dragons. They will usually switch out fearing the ice stab, so i use this opportunity to get off the shell smash. At his point its usually gg cause there isnt really much out there right now that can deal with a +2 Atk and speed monster that dealing 100+ damage with each attack. pretty standard fast physical sweeper ev's, with maxed out speed instead of hp so that i can out speed almost everything after i get off a shell smash. As for his move set, stab icicle spear and rock blast proved really good coverage, while ice shard is there for the priority to finish off weakened pokemon. Im considering switching to jolly nature, but i feel like there's times where the extra damage from adamant gives me just enough to get the OHKO.

Dovahkiin (Exploud) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Focus Blast
- Boomburst
- Shadow Ball
- Overheat

This guy is friggin hilarious. It started as a joke because i though stab boomburst would be funny but little did i realize how powerful it really was. Pairing that with choice specs makes him an almost unstoppable force if he gets going. I use max HP and SAtk EV's right now, but i wanna test max speed in stead of max hp in the future to see what pokemon i am able to outspeed, and to see if its more with it to out speed rather than take an extra hit. I dont really have much more to say about this guy cause he's shocked me with how good he's been, but i feel like the move set could probably be improved. Shadow ball is good for when you switch in on a ghost, and overheat is good for the grass and ice coverage that im missing on the rest of my team. Im open to any suggestions you guys have possible changes to this moves set.

Brotom (Rotom-Wash) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 100 SAtk / 36 Spd
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest

Rotom-w has been working so well for me, that i basically use him on every team that i test. With talonflame being such a huge threat right now, this guy provides the perfect check by resisting both stabs. He also serves as a good lead if im going up against a team with a not so obvious lead. Ev's are put into Def and SAtk to make him defensively bulky, while still being able to dish out some damage when needed. WoW provides a good method of putting some damage on stall-ish pokemon, as well as slowing down physical sweepers who had a chance to set up.

JingleJingle (Klefki) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Thunder Wave
- Foul Play

The Dragon Slayer. This guy has got to be one of my favourite gen 6 pokemon. At first glance i had the same mentality that most other people probably did "Oh god nintendo, why?!?". But priority prankster is way too good. Being able to tank hits with his bulky ev's and being able to set up dual screen + slow down threats with t-wave is ridiculous. Switch this guy in on any dragon and they either have to immediately switch or eat a 50%+ foul play. I normally run the swag-wave set on this guy, but for this team i feel like dual screens provides much more utility for the sweepers.

As i said before, i've only had a handful of games with this team but from what i have played i really really enjoy it. Im open to any suggestions or fixes you guys would recommend for this team. Thanks for taking the time to read :)

Exploud hits ghosts with boomburst and Aegislash with overheat so you can remove shadow ball for another coverage move.
I'd also consider pursuit on your Tyranitar to trap the various squishy pokemon that you it checks.
Your team is also incredibly fighting and ground weak. You need to get something that can take those moves, as you have 3 weaknesses to fighting, and 2 weaknesses to ground, with 0 resists for either bar Rotom. Rotom can still be hit by mold breaker earthquakes from Excadrill.

I was just going over the weakness of my team and i completely agree with you, but i feel like the ground weakness is not to big of a deal as most ground types will fall to cloyster. Im thinking that adding a gengar to my team will help with the super fighting weakness, but im not to sure who should be taken out for him.

Someone brings the boomshakalaka.

I would use fire blast over overheat because of the SpA drop, the drop in damage has no effect on OHKOs and 2HKOs and makes it slightly harder to revenge kill him (as he a lot of priority users don't like taking fire blasts)

Also, it really doesn't matter what the 4th move is for exploud, you're using boomburst for everything that isn't ttar or a steel type, i use ice beam for hitting dragons harder but it literally doesn't matter, i do agree though that it shouldn't be shadow ball as it's coverage is redundant especially when all other options deal more damage (fire blast hits aegislash harder, focus blast hits sableye and spiritomb harder, and boomburst just decimates everything), i just went with ice beam for dragonite as he can't OHKO Max HP Exploud without a boost and i think ice beam has a small chance to OHKO (definitely does after SR) while boomburst does not, but really, use what's best for the team without having redundant coverage on Exploud

Boom Approved
