[OVERVIEW]
Mismagius's fantastic Speed and Special Attack stats, Ghost typing, and colorful coverage make it a powerful specially offensive threat. Nasty Plot sets can break specially bulky Pokemon like Mismagius, Regirock, and Articuno wide open, while Choice item sets lean into Mismagius's spammable STAB Shadow Ball. Terastallization greatly enables Mismagius offensively and defensively, especially with the synergies of Tera Fairy Draining Kiss and Tera Electric + Levitate. However, Mismagius's bad physical bulk leaves it prone to Brute Bonnet's Sucker Punch and fast physical attackers like Lycanroc, Floatzel, Sneasel, and Choice Scarf Passimian. Nasty Plot sets also struggle with Mismagius's frailty reducing its safe opportunities to set up safely, especially when special walls like Snorlax can tank Mismagius's attacks and neutralize it.

[SET COMMENTS]
Mismagius can use its Ground, Normal, and Fighting immunities to find setup opportunities with Nasty Plot, opening it up further as a special wallbreaker and cleaner. Draining Kiss provides Mismagius some extra recovery as it attacks, but Mismagius can alternatively run Dazzling Gleam for coverage against Dark-types like Brute Bonnet that isn't as reliant on it Terastallizing. Thunderbolt zaps Flying-types like Braviary and Articuno, and it's Mismagius's strongest coverage move against Normal-types like Snorlax, Grafaiai, and Farigiraf. Substitute provides Mismagius with protection from status users like Mesprit, Naclstack's Salt Cure, and revenge killers like Floatzel, and it also opens up a way for Mismagius to play aroud Brute Bonnet's Sucker Punch. Taunt is a different utility option that shuts down special walls like Articuno and Crygoonal. Leftovers Mismagius variants can set up Substitute several times, and Tera Fairy + Draining Kiss sets can appreciate the additional longevity. In contrast, Life Orb makes Mismagius much more immediately threatening as a wallbreaker, giving it enough power to OHKO Charizard with Shadow Ball at +2. Tera Fairy powers up Mismagius's Fairy-type coverage moves, grants it a useful Dark resistance for intercepting Passimian's Knock Off and Brute Bonnet's Sucker Punch, and creates an immunity to phazing by Dipplin's Dragon Tail. Mismagius can use Tera Electric as an alternative to shed all of its weaknesses, acquire a paralysis immunity to leverage against Lanturn and Vikavolt, and power up Thunderbolt to the point that it can OHKO Articuno at +2 with a Life Orb.

Mismagius fits offensive teams as a strong wallbreaker that opens up holes fast cleaners like Floatzel and Choice Scarf Mesprit. Setup sweepers like Lycanroc, Hisuian Qwilfish, and Hisuian Sneasel similarly Mismagius softening up teams early-game so they can sweep. As a special sweeper, Oricorio especially benefits from Mismagius weakening special walls like Regirock. Sticky Web teams led by Vikavolt can rely on Mismagius as an offensive spinblocker, and Mismagius loves moving before faster foes like Floatzel and Choice Scarf Passimian to KO them first. Spikes teams featuring Hisuian Qwilfish, Sandslash, and Orthworm can also count on Mismagius to spinblock, and Mismagius thrives when grounded walls like Snorlax, Regirock, and Hisuian Qwilfish are chipped down by entry hazards. Brute Bonnet can break through specially bulky Pokemon like Lanturn and Regirock for Mismagius, and the two can wear down Hisuian Qwilfish together.

Other Options
=============

Mystical Fire nails Steel-types like Magneton and Orthworm, and it still hits Dark-types like Sneasel and Brute Bonnet super effectively. However, Mismagius has better synergies with Fairy-type coverage moves + Tera Fairy and Thunderbolt + Tera Electric. Will-O-Wisp can punish special walls like Regirock and Snorlax, but the latter tends to run Rest anyway. Choice item sets can run Tera Ghost to power up Mismagius's spammable STAB Shadow Ball, but Tera Fairy and Tera Electric are more valuable for offering Mismagius outs against Dark-type moves and paralysis, respectively.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Hisuian Qwilfish can tank Mismagius's coverage moves thanks to its secondary Poison typing and Eviolite. Brute Bonnet threatens Mismagius with Sucker Punch, forcing the latter to outplay it with Substitute or Terastallize into a Fairy-type. Sneasel naturally outspeeds non-Choice Scarf Mismagius, threatens an OHKO with Knock Off, and even threatens to OHKO with Triple Axel if Mismagius could Terastallize or has already Terastallized.

**Special Walls**: Snorlax and Regirock can survive Mismagius's boosted attacks and hit it back hard, Articuno and Cryogonal can use Haze to remove Nasty Plot boosts, and Naclstack resists Shadow Ball and can use Salt Cure to wear Mismagius down. However, all special walls must be wary of Choice item Mismagius using Trick and Nasty Plot Mismagius using Taunt or Substitute.

**Faster Attackers**: Physical attackers like Floatzel and Lycanroc hit Mismagius on its much frailer physical side. Jolteon commonly runs Shadow Ball for coverage, and it can use Volt Switch to chip down Mismagius into range of a KO. Choice Scarf users like Rotom-C and Mesprit can also finish off a weakened Mismagius.

**Paralysis**: Mismagius's frailty becomes a much bigger flaw when it's made more vulnerable to revenge killers, so paralysis spreaders like Vikavolt and Lanturn can ruin it. Despite being weak to Ghost-type attacks, Mesprit and Hattrem are bulky enough to survive a Shadow Ball from non-Choice Specs Mismagius and paralyze it in desperation.
