Stakataka @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Body Press
- Gyro Ball
- Rock Blast / Toxic

Stakataka's great defensive typing, utility movepool, and offense make it a good building block for offense teams in NU! Compared to Copperajah, its part-Rock typing allows it to take hits from Salazzle and Exploud and force them out better, although it's extremely susceptible to Ground-types such as Silvally-Ground and Water-types such as Starmie and Inteleon. Body Press threatens Steel-types such as Copperajah and Togedemaru, which resist its STAB moves. Rock Blast threatens Xatu looking to bounce back Stealth Rock and doesn't risk Rocky Helmet damage, while Toxic punishes common switch-ins such as Quagsire and Mudsdale. Quagsire is a great teammate to check hated setup sweepers such as Blastoise and Silvally-Ground. Dragalge resists Water for Stakataka and can utilize Flip Turn to bring Stakataka in safely on Dragon- and Ice-types looking to pressure it. Choice Scarf Rotom-C provides a Ground immunity and deals with Mudsdale and Quagsire, which Stakataka struggles with.

Stakataka's great special defense defensive typing staka's sdef is pretty average for a bulky mon, its carried hard by its Steel typing, utility movepool, and offensive capabilities make it a good building block block haha for offensive teams in NU! Compared to Copperajah, its part-Rock typing allows it to take hits from Xatu and Indeedee-F Salazzle and Exploud Xatu and Indeedee's respective STAB moves do about equal damage to both staka and copper and threaten them out better, at the cost of being extremely susceptible to Ground-types such as Silvally-Ground and Water-types such as Starmie and Inteleon. Body Press threatens Steel-types such as Copperajah and Togedemaru, who resist its STAB moves. Rock Blast allows it to threaten Xatu looking to bounce back Stakataka's Stealth Rock without fear of getting worn down by Rocky Helmet, while Toxic punishes common switch-ins such as Quagsire and Mudsdale. Quagsire is a great team mate as it checks setup sweepers such as Blastoise and Silvally-Ground that this stack of rocks hates. Dragalge provides pivoting, can check Blastoise, and forms a hazard-stacking core with it that offensive teams appreciate. acts as a Water resist for Stakataka and can utilize Flip Turn to pivot Stakataka in safely on Dragon- and Ice-types looking to offensively pressure Dragalge. Choice Scarf Rotom-C provides a Ground immunity and deals with Mudsdale and Aerodactyl Quagsire Aero EQ doesn't even OHKO stakataka nor can it switch in that it struggles with.
