Odd question!

Heh, I'm not sure if this will be counted as spam. If it is, my apologies and please move it or delete it as you see appropriate.

I'm working on a piece of writing, and need some assistance from Smogon. Basically, I want you guys to describe a bar for me. Yeah, that's pretty weird. The thing is, I'm 15 and not allowed into a bar.

Generally, I think I can imagine most of it. The stools set in front of the counter, the gantry engraved with woodwork, pool table, etc. However, I lack the really specific interesting details that make it tick.

If possible, try to give me your own unique description of your favorite bar that you go to. Give me the tiny details that set your bar apart from the rest, and interesting things that happen there.

Thanks.

Ever seen Simpsons?

Well, a long table with stools, and a bartender behind it.
Hot ones who can flair well if you go to Vegas.
And Pool tables, regular tables and dart boards to finish it off.
yeah.

also, depending on the amount of hybridization the bar has with a night club, lots of girls in skimpy clothes.

Hmm...let me tell you about one of my favorite pubs in melbourne:

The interior decorations are all outdated and from the 70's with pictures of random sporting teams and other semi-famous people who have frequented the venue. Tables inside seat about 50, with booths along the side seating around 30 more.
The bar is quite long, maybe 10-15m and on a busy thursday night no less than 5 bartenders are pouring beers.

The bar itself has 5 beers on tap, with your standard VB and carlton, to the more more upmarket Coopers Pale Ale and Bundaberg Rum and Coke.
Behind the bar the spirits and cocktail specials are lined up, with pourers, ready for the customer to select them.
Outside there is a massive beer garden, which easily holds 200 people on a lovely warm summers night.

On a thursday night there is a 2 man guitar band, who cover classics including 'You're the Voice' and 'Summer of 69' and who manage to get the crowd dancing! In between their sets, there is a pleasant background of random dancey tunes.

Outside, interspersed between the fairy lights, trees and picnic tables, the people mingle and loudly chat. Dress code is not a problem at this bar, seeing as all the university kids frequent it.
On any given night you are as likely to encounter a suit wearing lawyer as you are a drunken toga clad engineering student. There is no prejudice.

At the back of the beer garden resides two bird cages. the first houses 5 chickens, some quails, and a peahen. The second houses 2 galahs and a cockatoo.
In between the two cages is the famous 'munt-a-pault' which in reality is a see-saw but turns into a giant spew machine after 6 jugs of beer. I know this from first hand experience.

Now this paints a nice picture. Gives me something to draw realistic inspiration from, instead of having to resort to cliches about bars. Mucho gracias.
