SV Ubers Offensive Balance Ubers Team

I have been testing this team a lot, and I think it’s a fun offensive balance build with some breakers and defensive utility. The idea is to use Chi-Yu and Zacian-C as the main offensive pressure while the rest of the team provides speed and hazard control. It’s been doing pretty well for me, but I’d love feedback on weaknesses and optimizations.

The Team

Chi-Yu @ Choice Specs
Ability: Beads of Ruin
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

  • Fire Blast
  • Overheat
  • Dark Pulse
  • Tera Blast

Chi-Yu is my immediate wallbreaker. Specs Fire Blast and Overheat destroy anything that doesn’t resist, and Dark Pulse punishes Psychic- and Ghost-types like Calyrex-S. Tera Blast Rock gives me a way to hit Ho-Oh, Lugia, and other Fire resists that would otherwise stomach hits. I picked Chi-Yu to help shred fat cores and force progress early.

Arceus-Ground @ Earth Plate
Ability: Multitype
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

  • Judgment
  • Stealth Rock
  • Earth Power
  • Shadow Ball

Arceus-Ground is my rocker and electric immunity, mainly to keep Miraidon in check. Earth Plate Judgment and Earth Power give consistent damage while letting me pressure common switch-ins. Shadow Ball helps chip Ghosts like Giratina and Calyrex-S. Tera Fairy provides an emergency defensive pivot into Dragons (mainly Dragapult) and Dark-types. Without this mon i believe i would not be able to win most matches.

Terapagos @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Tera Shift
Tera Type: Stellar
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature

  • Tera Starstorm
  • Rapid Spin
  • Calm Mind
  • Earth Power

Terapagos gives me hazard control and a bulky win condition. Rapid Spin is great since the team has no other removal, and Calm Mind lets it setup if given space. Stellar Tera Starstorm is incredibly strong and lets Terapagos flip matchups against almost anything after boosting. I like using alot after Chi-Yu gets down because it mostly recovers the game for me.

Zacian-Crowned @ Rusted Sword
Ability: Intrepid Sword
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

  • Behemoth Blade
  • Swords Dance
  • Sacred Sword
  • Play Rough

Zacian is my main physical breaker and speed check. Behemoth Blade hits hard, while Swords Dance lets it sweep harder. Sacred Sword helps against Steel-types like Dialga-O and Zamazenta, and Play Rough gives some Fairy STAB. Tera Fighting lets me hit Steel- and Dark-types even harder. Zacian was chosen to keep offensive pressure up and prevent me from being too passive.

Zamazenta-Crowned @ Rusted Shield
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 94 Def / 4 SpD / 158 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

  • Body Press
  • Iron Defense
  • Rest
  • Sleep Talk

Zamazenta provides a sturdy physical wall and secondary win condition. Iron Defense + Body Press makes it a nightmare for physical attackers. I went with some Speed to creep opposing support mons, but it’s still bulky enough to check big threats like Koraidon and Zacian-C. This set gives me defensive security and another way to close out games.

Deoxys-Attack @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

  • Psycho Boost
  • Energy Ball
  • Focus Blast
  • Ice Beam

Deoxys-A with a Choice Scarf is my revenge killer and speed control. Psycho Boost is insane immediate damage, and Ice Beam helps pick off Dragons and Landorus-T. Energy Ball and Tera Grass let me punish Kyogre, Arceus-Ground, and other bulky Waters/Grounds. Focus Blast is just strong coverage for Steels. Deo-A rounds out the team nicely by preventing me from being overrun by faster threats.

The team has been fun and effective for me, but I know it’s not perfect. I sometimes struggle against hyper offense or stall, and I’m curious if my Tera types could be better. Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated!

With all due respect, this team is unviable as is. Chi-Yu is too slow and sees no usage in current SV Ubers, much like Manaphy rip bozo

I’d implore you to read up on the SV Ubers viability rankings and check out the sample teams, which will give you a better idea of what works and what doesn’t atm. Fair warning, most of the samples are pretty mediocre, but they’re still more meta-representative than whatever this team is supposed to be

I think chi-yu with scarf koraidon u turn is fantastic against balance and stall. Tera fire specs in sun will have no problem breaking anything. The challenge then is how to defend yourself against offensive teams since chi yu seems to have little defensive use

I don't think your Arceus Ground is doing anything for you here. If the entire point of having it is to deal with Regieleki and DRAGAPULT(Unviable you do not see Dragapult in this tier) I think you have quite a few other options that would work better. Mainly Defensive Groudon as it allows you to run Spikes and have a Sun Setter to help with you goal of breaking with Chi-Yu. OR Landorus-T allows you to keep rocks and run U-Turn to help get your breakers in.

Zamazenta is also pretty horrible. A lot of really strong Ghost Types in the tier make it and especially this set, unusable, it also does not beat any Koraidon like you say it does. There are many better bulky pivots you could use on a team like this, if you have already swapped off Arceus-Ground, Arceus Fairy or Water is helpful into Koraidon and the ladder helps into Zacian.

Also I am not a fan of that Calm Mind set on Terapagos on a team like this. You rely on having constant pressure so you don't get put on the back foot because you pretty well have 0 switch ins to a lot of attackers, this set is Walled by a lot of the tier unless you have a few Calm Minds up. On a team like this I'd rather Toxic and Stealth Rocks over Calm Mind and Earth Power or a different Pokemon entirely like Giratina-O.

Scarf Deoxys-A is also not very good. If this was a Scarf Koraidon it's just a more useful member, allows you to U-Turn, actually tank a resisted hit and click strong moves more than once in a row.
