[SET COMMENTS]
Mega Gardevoir's stellar base 165 Special Attack in tandem with its ability, Pixilate, decent Special Defense, and respectable Speed tier make it a vicious wallbreaker against slower defensive Pokemon, especially Dark-, Dragon-, and Fighting-types such as Ting-Lu, defensive Garchomp, and Great Tusk. A strong Psychic-type STAB move in Psyshock ensures Poison-types like Toxapex and Galarian Slowking take a lot of damage if they try to switch into a Hyper Voice, as well as letting Mega Gardevoir hit Blissey and Clodsire. Mystical Fire allows Mega Gardevoir to avoid being walled by Steel-types like Ferrothorn while also denying switch-in opportunities to Gholdengo and Mega Scizor, making sure it isn't setup fodder. Taunt allows it to shut down setup attempts from Calm Mind users such as Raging Bolt, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Fini while also preventing defensive Pokemon such as Gliscor, Toxapex, Blissey, and Ting-Lu from using status moves like Toxic and Thunder Wave, setting entry hazards, or using recovery moves. Focus Blast, similarly to Mystical Fire, makes sure Mega Gardevoir isn't walled by Steel-types; however it hits Heatran and Melmetal harder. Its base ability, Trace, can also allow it to come in on Pokemon and copy their abilities. For example, it can copy Dauntless Shield from Zamazenta, Regenerator from Pokemon such as Alomomola and Tornadus-T, Swift Swim from Mega Swampert, and Flash Fire from Heatran. Mega Gardevoir's base 100 Speed allows it to outpace threats like non-Choice Scarf variants of Urshifu-R and Kyurem, making it harder to revenge kill.
Mega Gardevoir works best on offense, bulky offense, or balance structures due to its poor physical bulk, lack of reliable recovery, and vulnerability to Spikes, which limits its entry opportunities. It works best with slow pivots like Corviknight, Galarian Slowking, and Alomomola that cover its weaknesses to Steel- and Poison-types and can bring it in safely multiple times. It also greatly appreciates partners that can set entry hazards on forced switches, like Hisuian Samurott, offensive Garchomp, and Great Tusk. Thanks to Mega Gardevoir's incredible matchup against Ting-Lu, it has great synergy with Pokemon that are walled by it, like Ghostium Z Gholdengo and Raging Bolt. Fast physical attackers like Choice Scarf Urshifu-R, Zamazenta, and Mega Lopunny, as well as priority users such as Mega Scizor and Mega Medicham with Bullet Punch, and Kingambit with Sucker Punch, can revenge kill Mega Gardevoir if let in by a slow pivot. As such, physically defensive Pokemon like Corviknight, Toxapex, and Pecharunt are great defensive partners. Meanwhile, since it's easily revenge killed by Choice Scarf users like Urshifu-R and faster threats like Tapu Koko and Weavile, Pokemon that can switch into them and apply offensive pressure—like Ogerpon-Wellspring, Kingambit, and Iron Treads—are great partners that help maintain momentum.
