Offensive(ish) team

Ok, so this is a team I have thought about recently and have used it in a few battles to great success so far (apart from the times I have made a mistake :p, but I sitll havent lost with it). It started off based around lead metagross and branched out into an offensive team, well mostly offensive.

There are a couple of pokemon here to keep the others alive or my opponents down.

metagross.png

Metagross: Leftovers
Adamant nature 252HP 236Atk 12Def 8Spd
Meteor Mash
Bullet Punch
Stealth Rock
Explosion

Ok so this is the lead and pokemon that started this team off. His main aim is to get the rocks up, damage as many pokemon as possible and then detonate and take someone with him. Explosion I find very useful for taking down a pokemon that is threatening my team and is being a right pain in the arse to take down. Meteor mash is over earthquake because I have yet to encounter a lead (me personally) that gets hurt more by earthquake than meteor mash, and the occasional attack rise is helpful.

alakazam.png

Alakazam: Choice Specs
Synchronize
Timid Nature: 252SpAtk 252Spd 6HP
Psychic
Signal Beam
Focus Blast
Trick

My first sweeper, the ability to trick specs onto other pokemon was the main reason I picked Alakazam over other special sweepers, since he can cripple tanks/walls or anyone who wants to set up on him. The second reason for picking him was the massive damage output that psychic makes on anything which dosent resist it. Signal beam and focus blast make sure that hes going to remain unchallenged, even Tyranitar has to be careful about switching in to one of those moves.

flygon.png

Flygon: Choice Band
Adamant nature: 252Atk 80HP 176Spd
Earthquake
Outrage
Fire punch
U-Turn

Sweeper number two. Flygon I picked as it has a far better typing than Salamence which serves my team better, since its twin immunities means it can switch in on alot of moves without a care. And is immune to any paralasis thats not coming from a random body slam. U-Turn I have found extremely helpful, when the situation isnt to my favour out Flygon goes.

I picked Fire punch over blast/dragon claw/stone edge as I prefered to have more HP to take an attack when switching in, also Stone edge and Fire blasts's shakey accuracy put me off very quickly, and dragon claw I saw as not very useful as outrage is far stronger and I wont be staying in for very long with a choice item on anyway.

empoleon.png

Empoleon: Pataya Berry
Modest nature: 252SpAtk 12HP 12SpDef 232Spd
Surf
Ice beam
Substitute
Agility

Final sweeper. Empoleon is for later sweeping when my opponent is running out of things that can stop it. Set up a substitute and agility, even without the berry activating Empoleons offense is very powerful, and with the berry (and torrent) its becomes brutal. The typing is also a reason I picked this pokemon, immunity to poison is very helpful.

I picked Ice beam over grass knot as I have little to none Ice moves on my team, and with a sub up Empoleon has little to fear from Salamence.

dusknoir.png

Dusknoir: Leftovers
Impish Nature: 252HP 252Def 6SpDef
Fire punch
Night Shade
Will-O-Wisp
Pain Split

Now onto the protection pokemon, Dusknoir helps keep stealth rocks up, although since Rotom-A does the job better I am thinking of switching to useing it, when I get platinum that is.

Will-O-Wisp is for the sweepers who try and set up on my pokemon, giving them something to worry about. Night shade I see as more useful than the other punchs since Dusknoirs attack is very poor with no investment.

shaymin.png

Shaymin: Leftovers
Bold nature: 252HP 252Def 6SpAtk
Seed Flare
Aromatherapy
Rest
Leech Seed

My final pokemon, Shaymin I picked mainly because of its use of Aromatherapy and Seed Flare. The latter of which become extremely powerful when used in succesion meaning it can cause the opponent to switch or even get KOed if they dont expect much from this little pokemon.

Rest isa very obvious choice, fully healing the pokemon and all I have to do is switch out? Brilliant. Most people will just tell my to switch to useing a Celebi, but Shaymin is more useful to my team, as it lacks a weakness to Persuit (Which my Alakazam shares) and as my team switchs round alot I would prefer not to have that weakness preyed on.

1 big thing i noticed is that your flygon should be running a scarf not a band due to its "meh" speed and also give the abliltiy to outspeed menace after 1 DD if you max out its speed ( wish i also suggest) and if you swap fire punch for stone endge you can take down gyra and zapdos alot easyer

alakazam is begging scizor to come in and trap you with persuit so concider hpfire over signal beam to deal with him

Actually the combination of band and Adamant allows Flygon to 2HKO alot of bulky pokemon, like suicune and swampert.

And I cant get any specific hidden powers :p, this is an "ingame" team I use on wi-fi, and I have alot of trouble breeding specific IVs to get hidden powers. Plus, no scizor would like a focus blast to the face.

I get flack for this, but on my Specszam I have a lot of success with Grass Knot over Signal Beam. In addition to hitting TTar harder (grass knot is I believe base 120 against TTar as opposed to base 75 for Signal Beam), it allows you to get the OHKO on Swampert. But since you have Shaymin, I suppose Signal Beam is OK. I would NOT go with HP Fire because most Scizor I've encountered with Alakazam use Bullet Punch.

Lead Metagross is usually better off with a pinch berry of some sort over Leftovers, as it just doesn't stick around long enough for the Leftovers to be of any real use. Most leads will not damage you directly straightaway anyway, meaning Leftovers will generally be a waste of an item slot. Having used a Metagross lead extensively myself, I personally feel the best version of it is one holding Occa Berry and with Earthquake / Bullet Punch / Explosion / Stealth Rock. So basically, I would recommend you change Leftovers around for Occa Berry and Meteor Mash for Earthquake. The reason for this is really because when you look at the top 10 leads, this Metagross can effectively deal with the vast majority of them: Against opposing Metagross - Stealth Rock first, then Earthquake. If it turns out to be one without Earthquake, you're in luck, otherwise they are just as well off as you are. Versus Azelf - It will SR first most of the time, and you can dispatch it with 3 Bullet Punches (2 if it chooses to use a -Def nature). This is the only lead against which Meteor Mash is better off, since it allows you to Meteor Mash + Bullet Punch for the kill. Against Infernape - Survive its Fire Blast with your Occa Berry and then hit it with Earthquake to bring it to its sash. Finish with Bullet Punch. Your current Metagross can't touch this and loses to it. Versus Jirachi - Earthquake it to take it out. Your current Metagross can't touch. Versus Aerodactyl - Bring it to its sash with Bullet Punch, then finish with another. Against Tyranitar - Earthquake does enough to 2HKO, and you outspeed and survive its Earthquake, meaning you win. There's also no nasty chance of you missing like there was with MM. Versus Heatran - Survive its hit with Occa then hit back with Earthquake to take it out.

Now, your team will greatly benefit from changing Flygon's Choice Band into a Choice Scarf. Reason? As of right now, your team is very vulnerable to MixApe with Hidden Power Ice/ Fire Blast/ Grass Knot/ Close Combat. You have no safe switch-in except for Flygon, who will lose since it will fail to outspeed. Close Combat will OHKO Empoleon, Fire Blast will severely dent Shaymin, Dusknoir, Metagross (Without Occa), and Hidden Power Ice OHKOes Flygon. You can easily fix this problem by switching to Flygon with Choice Scarf. If you want more reason to switch to Scarf Flygon, take a look at Salamence, a Pokemon that can hurt your team badly after a Dragon Dance. After a Dragon Dance, Earthquake kills your Alakazam, Metagross, Empoleon, while Fire Blast deals with Shaymin and Outrage kills Flygon and Dusknoir. If you Scarf Flygon, you can EV it to outspeed Adamant +1 DD Salamence, to allow you to kill with Outrage. So, basically, I suggest you change Flygon to Choice Scarf, 252 Speed/ 252 Atk/ 6 HP. Jolly, Earthquake, Outrage, U-turn, Fire Punch. 252 Speed with a Jolly Nature allow Flygon to outspeed Salamence and grab a nice OHKO with Outrage. You also get the ability to outspeed and OHKO Infernape with Earthquake, another troublesome Pokemon for your team!

Thirdly, use Rotom-h over Dusknoir. I know you said you will switch him when you get Platinum, however, I will tell you why you should switch him and what set would benefit you the most! Know, why does Rotom-h serve as a better Ghost type/Spin Blocker than Dusknoir? Rotom's Electric typing with Levitate gives it a distinct defensive advantage, since it can effectively counter Scizor, Metagross, Scarf Jirachi, Electivire, all of which give Dusknoir a difficult time. The main threat to Rotom and Dusknoir is CB Tyranitar, and Dusknoir's higher defenses will likely not stop it from being OHKOed by Crunch. What else does Rotom have over Dusknoir? Rotom is faster, has the ability to utilize more powerful attacking moves, has better typing, is immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes unlike Dusknoir, allowing Rotom to survive more, can one or two-hit KO every Rapid Spinner in OU such as Starmie, Forry, Tentacruel, and Donphan, has a better attacking movepool, has more available status options, and has more than one viable strategy; Now that you know why you should use Rotom-h, lets get into what set you should use. For your team, I would suggest you use Will-O-Wisp,Overheat, ThunderBolt, Shadow Ball, 252 HP / 68 Def / 188 Spe, Timid Nature. That is most likely the best set for your team and I will once again explain why. Every Rotom should carry either WoW or Reflect for Tyranitar. Rotom actually works as a great lure for Tyranitar, burning it as it comes in and meaning it is a lot easier for it to take it on. Tyranitar is loathe to Pursuit once it has been burned in case you stay in and it does laughable damage, so once you have crippled it with a Burn, you can safely go to a Crunch resist (Empoleon!) and set up a Substitute and Agility, and hopefully sweep!. WoW will still let you cripple Salamence. ThunderBolt is over Discharge because the increased power boost from Discharge to Thunderbolt helps to offset the loss of SpA EVs, and means you can still do decent damage to Water-types. Also, there is nothing more infuriating than accidentally paralysing a Tyranitar with Discharge, and it Pursuiting you to death because you couldn't burn it. Even with no SpA EVs, Overheat will get the KOs on Lucario and Scizor, so you don't need to worry there.

Lastly, I feel that your Alakazam spot can be used way more effectively. Preferably with a Pokemon that can help you more with Infernape, such as Latias. Latias is in every shape or form better than Alakazam, however, it does much more for your team. Here are the things Latias does for your team: 1) It helps you out immensely with Zapdos, who can hit your entire team super effectively with Heat Wave / ThunderBolt / Hidden Power Ice. Also, Latias can get rid of Zapdos for you, making it much easier for your Empoleon to sweep! 2) Latias provides your team with a much needed counter to Latias, since Latias resist both of Infernape's STAB moves while being able to OHKO back with a Surf. Latias also provides your team with a cushion against other Fire types such as SubToxic Heatran, who can be annoying once it sets up a Substitute on your current Metagross, Shaymin, and Dusknoir. Latias has better durability, and a way to heal itself, making it a better choice than Alakazam. If it is possible to actually obtain a Latias for your team, I suggest you use Draco Meteor, Surf, ThunderBolt, Recover, 252 Speed, 252 SpA, 6 HP, with a Timid Nature. Draco Meteor is for STAB and to just hit Pokemon for tons of damage, Surf provides Latias with coverage against Fire types and the dangerous Tyranitar, while hitting many other types for neutral damage. Surf also deals 43.11% - 50.90% to max HP Scizor, a 97% chance to 2HKO if Scizor has taken Stealth Rock damage. ThunderBolt allows Latias to easily take on Bulky Waters such as Vaporeon and Suicune. Also, with Rotom luring in Tyranitar with Will-O-Wisp to cripple it, Latias will have a much easier time dealing with Tyranitar since Crunch/Pursuit will do much less damage. I do not know if Latias is OU in the wi-fi environment, however, if it is, I highly suggest you use it!

Ok, I am switching gross to quake a occa berry. Earthquake I think is better now, after have a jirachi sity in front of meta and do anything it wants I feel its alot more necessary.

The rotom set you mentioned Bloo was the exact one I planned to use when I got the oppertunity. Well at least I hope the event happens soon after release.

I will probably keep Alakazam, mainly because I cant get a good latias (even if I got a good natured one its IVs would be abysmal). And also because you mentioned Salamence as a problem, and I dont think Latias is a good idea agaisnt it.

If Zapdos and Salamence cause problems then I can easily take Shaymin out and put a counter in for them, it would also mean I can keep flygons current setup as it breaks alot of very tough pokemon. Porygon2 seems like a good idea, as it also stops Heatran as well.
