Hey guys, I just need commentary on this team, it's already won a lot for me, but I still need advice.
Mid-Game attacker and semi lategame cleaner
k (Lopunny-Mega) (F) @ Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch/Power-Up Punch
- Fake Out
So I guess this is sort of a standard Lopunny set. It works great with sticky web support and kills glass cannons. The reason I chose lopunny is for it's unresisted stab with scrappy and decent amount of coverage and power. Return and high jump kick do considerable damage to most of the tier and Fake out is needed for Mega-Evolving safely. You can have Power-Up Punch to go for a sweep, but Ice Punch creates great coverage against tanks like Gliscor, Garchomp or Landorous.
Hazard Setter
ill wait (Shuckle) (M) @ Mental Herb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Sticky Web
- Toxic
- Infestation
The main reason why I chose Shuckle is because it is an extremely reliable hazard setter. With access to 2 awesome entry hazards, stealth rock and sticky web, he is an amazing support pokemon (He also doesn't get KOed by a Carracosta at plus 2!). This is another somewhat standard set. Infestation and Toxic are used for wearing down dangerous sweepers, while stealth rock and sticky web are needed for team support. Contrary is used so you can raise your accuracy when opponents use defog. BTW should I give him leftovers instead?
Sweeper
grew a head (Barbaracle) @ White Herb
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shell Smash
- Razor Shell
- Stone Edge
- Poison Jab/Cross Chop
So here's Barbaracle. He's an amazing sweeper after one shell smash, so that's basically the reason why I chose him. He get's one chance to setup (ex. Talonflame is literally set up bait) and he kills whole teams. Cross Chop can be preffered to kill Ferrothorn, while Poison Jab gives him good coverge and a 100% accurate attack. Razor Shell and Stone Edge are used for strong stab, and shell smash is necessary for sweeping.
Another option for a Shell Smash sweeper is Omastar, which is very viable.
Revenge Killer
female (Alakazam) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dazzling Gleam
- Psychic/Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
I chose Alakazam mainly just for revenge killing. Entry hazards could give his focus sash a problem, but he outspeeds most of the tier anyways. Energy Ball and Shadow Ball are used for great coverage (Energy Ball hits swampert and Quagsire and Shadow Ball hits various ghost types), Psychic/Psyshock is used for good stab and dazzling gleam is used to nail pesky dragons and darks. To elaborate more on Psyshock or Psychic, Psyshock breaks through special walls while the latter provides better offensive power.
Priority Killer AKA Sweeper Stop
bug gun kid (Scizor) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Superpower
I chose him because his priority does hefty damage and is a strong revenge killer. Scizor is also a great partner for Barbaracle, luring in fire types, which can give Barbaracle free setup and a chance to sweep. Superpower is used to nail ferrothorn and magnezone and perhaps Heatran on the switch, Bullet punch is necessary for revenge killing, knock off is an excellent move to use to surprise KO alakazam or other threats and swords dance is needed for setup and perhaps sweeping.
Wallbreaker
Hi (Darmanitan) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- U-turn
- Earthquake
I chose this guy because he basically one-shots everything in the tier. All he needs is sticky web support. However, if there's a fast levitate user or flying type of some sort he might just get unalived, so be cautious when you're playing him. However, his power is unrivaled and is a terrifying glass cannon. Rock Slide and EQ grant excellent coverage while U-turn is used for scouting. Flare Blitz is extremely powerful when you add in choice band, sheer force and stab.
Well anyways, thanks for the help guys!
