Set Description
=========

Due to its solid Speed and Special Attack stats, access to Quiver Dance, and great coverage in Psychic and Giga Drain, Volcarona functions as a hard-hitting sweeper. Quiver Dance gives Volcarona the ability to sweep, letting it outspeed common fast threats like Dragapult, Weavile, and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele at +1 Speed as well as 2HKO defensive walls like Landorus-T, Clefable, and Tornadus-T. Flamethrower is usually preferred for its general consistency, although Fire Blast can also be used for its increase damage output, letting Volcarona OHKO Tapu Lele and Assault Vest Melmetal after slight chip and at +1 Special Attack. Psychic hits Toxapex and Blaziken while also being the strongest option against Dragapult, Dragonite, and Volcanion, whereas Giga Drain hits Tapu Fini, Gastrodon, and Rotom-W. Flame Body is a nice ability for Volcarona, as it gives it the chance to burn Buzzwole and Kartana. A Jolly nature is quite valuable, as this lets Volcarona outspeed +1 Speed Garchomp, Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, and Choice Scarf Urshifu-R when Volcarona is at +1.
