I was always a huge rain fan (hi gen 5), so here's an offensive rain team I made (I'm actually above 1700 on OU ladder with it, as for today) :
FIRST GLANCE
'perfect' fyn wispered
process/history (boring)
Rain Teams are cool, I also like Scizor so I saw a rain team (Kaz-7) and modified half of it lmao. it was Politoed, Mega Scizor, Manaphy, Kabutops, Klefki, Celebi. I liked how Celebi can handle most of Rain Teams weaknesses. I didn't know what his Klefki was for so I changed it for an Unaware SR setter (his was Celebi but I prefered keeping a free slot) Clefable. Because I like not having to worry too much about setup sweepers.
I rapidely dropped Kabutops as I didn't manage to play it. As for other swift swimmers, Kingdra no matter how legendary he was as a swift swimmer, his stats are really bad and his movepool even worse. Omastar isnt worth it imo as Keldeo can do the same job (Omastar has 55 Speed lmao, what a swift swimmer), since I have an experience with Keldeo and know how he is metagame shaping I just put him over Kabutops. I tried Specs but it was dumb since I already had Manaphy as a thing that punch hard, and my team needed Speed, so choice scarf Keldeo (and everybody knows how good he is). I eventually also dropped my SR unaware clefable for a OU tank Garchomp, which sets rocks, handles setup sweepers (anyway most of them are just physical) can deal with Bisharp and is more bulky. So we have the team.
DETAILS
Spit (Politoed) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rest
- Scald
- Encore
- Toxic
The necessary poke, the rain changes every Scald into killer moves, he can still hit quite hard under rain. Rest is for durability issue (you don't really need Politoed for anything else than his rain so it's a must). Encore traps setup sweepers or Substitude users. Toxic kills walls/stalls, first thing I do against Tyranitar lead. Damp Rock is a must, 8 turns instead of 5 really helps Manaphy set up, it can also protect Scizor from a random HP fire. EVs Spread in HP and Def to keep him as long alive as you can.
Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SpA / 16 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Psychic
- Tail Glow
- Rest
The best stall breaker as he can easily pass Chansey and kill everything that's slower than him once set up. If the opponent put a stall pokemon just send Manaphy under rain and sweep like there's no tomorrow. Scald is the main attack move, best water move with 30% chance to burn and high offense, the 10 Base Power difference with Surf doesn't mean much, so Scald is prefered. Psychic is the coverage hitting SE on Grass Pokemon (Venu, Breloom, Chesnaught) and hitting mostly neutral otherwise (Ice Beam is just plain bad getting stopped by Water pokes, and Energy Ball isn't worth just for hitting Rotom as he might Volt Switch faster anyway). Tail Glow the signature move is why Manaphy is used as at x2.5 he needs to take cared quickly. Rest under rain with Hydratation, with Manaphy's natural bulkiness makes Manaphy a litteral nightmare for slow teams, it's also a good way to predict a Draco Meteor from Lati@s (does around 80% from the LO Latias), then Manaphy can sweep again. He's a stall breaker, so I kept everything for SpA and HP so he can take a hit from some Priority User like Talonflame.
Keldeo @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power Electric / Icy Wind
The perfect revenge killer and late game sweeper since he resists most priority attacks. With Choice Scarf, Keldeo can hit electric pokemon before they hit him, since they are mostly frail pokemon, a Scald under rain is often enough to kill them (OHKO Mega Manectric or Thundurus obviously), Hydro pump if you need the extra damage to achieve the KO but Scald with his 30% chance to burn is always prefered. Secret Sword hits Chansey, Ferrothorn, Magnezone, neutral on Rotom. Icy Wind doesnt have much use frankly since Hydro Pump can deal as much damage under rain and Keldeo is already faster than Latios, so HP electric (mainly if I meet a Gyarados since it's a threat to the team) is an option ? Spread max speed and offense.
King Crimson (Scizor) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Roost
Deals with Lati@s, save Celebi from U-turn/insect Pokemon/Dark Pokemon, he can eat most Physical Move, he eats the Knock Off and Earthquake generally, also deal with Serperior. It's important to have a priority in a team so here's Scizor. Bullet punch is the classic move, made just for Scizor passing fairies and often hitting neutral, Knock Off is a nice way to support the team by removing items from the opponent (and provide better coverage than Steel Insect). Swords Dance change Scizor into a real threat (i mean he IS a 150 atk poke). Roost really increase Mega Scizor's durability since he'll eat a lot of Draco Meteor or Earthquake. Dunno maybe trade SD for Defog ? I hadn't much issue with entry hazards so far. Max HP for Bulk and Max Atk for Scizor time.
Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 148 HP / 252 SpA / 112 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Psychic
- Earth Power
- Healing Wish (or Recover)
Counters most of Rain Teams weaknesses (Venusaur, Breloom, Rotom) it's a safe switch against Electric pokemons, and counter Starmie (which counters my Keldeo so that's good). Giga Drain kills the waters type to hinder manaphy/keldeo/scizor (read:rotom) or ground type (tyranitar, garchomp) Psychic kills the Grass pokemons which weirdly all carry a Psychic-weak type, it also kill Gengar. Earth Power is weirdly good on Celebi, he can effectively kill Heatran, Magnezone, Bisharp, deals some damage to Ferrothorn (don't expect too much tho), surprise Metagross. Healing Wish is a classical move to completely heal one of your sweeper which was hindered by a status move or close to death, Recover is also good though.
The spread, max spAtk so Celebi hits like a truck. He runs enough speed to kill 252+ jolly Bisharp with Earth Power (who run jolly anyway) or jolly Metagross or jolly Mega Swampert, basically everything base 70, also Neutral Gyarados. Everything else on HP for bulk, and Lefties.
Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Lax Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Blast
Garchomp OU defensive tank. He's the Stealth Rock setter. Earthquake is the standard attack of Garchomp if he needs to hit, Dragon Tail deals with set up sweepers. Fire Blast is for Ferrothorn, the spread is obviously made so Garchomp can resist attack from physical sweepers like Talonflame and Rocky Helmet is here to emphasize the damages.

THREATS LISTS
So far it's mostly birds, Talonflame SD Sharp Beak pass through most of my team (a reason i changed Clefable for Garchomp), Tornadus is also problematic and can only be revenge killed. Gyarados leftover version is also really annoying. Pinsir is the worst also.
