Offensive RMT, OU!

Introduction: This is a team I made to break stall, and still pose a threat to balance. Using wallbreakers MixMence and MixApe and Threats such as Choice Band Gyarados and Life orb'ed Latias my battles are usually short. Onto the team:

Gyarados @ Choice Band ***Gluttony
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
Jolly nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Waterfall
- Taunt
- Earthquake
- Outrage

This is a gem I found in the "New and "creative" moveset/EV spread thread" posted by ChouToshio. I found this pokemon to be one of the best leads in pokemon. Against Metagross I just Taunt then switch to Rotom while most blow up. I don't have much defense, so Intimidate is always usefull. I love it when so many people think their Togekiss or Zapdos can outspeed me. I have 4Defense EVs because of Stealth rock.

Latias @ Life Orb /Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spe/252 SpA
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Surf
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon pulse
- Recover

Ah Latias, my Life orb'ed sweeper. When I was browsing the forums I saw Twist of Fate post about Salamence and Latias weakening the other's counter. I wanted to try this out and I found it to be pretty good.
I usually unleash Latias first, as Salamence gets weaker than Latias after a Meteor. Latias is my great counter to Zapdos and Waters that give Scizor, Gyarados, and Infernape problems. Physco Shift to smack around Blissey. 4Defense because of Life orb damage. Max speed to take out Infernapes (and yeah, I have taken out U-turn ones before).

Scizor @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs:216 HP/100 Atk/192 SDef
Adamant (+Atk, -SpA)
- Pursuit /Light screen
- U-turn
- Roost
- Bullet Punch

Scizor is just here to solve Cresselia and Latias issues. As my only Steel, against a Dragon I go Gyarados->Scizor to help soften the blow. Normally I just U-turn once, switch in a counter, then the rest of the match Bullet Punch to pick off everything late-game. My EV spread isn't very specific but I just wanted to take out those Latias without fail. Scizor is my weak link of the team, i'd be happy to find a replacement.

Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 16 Atk/252 Spe/240 SpA
Naive nature (+Spe, -SpD)
- Flamethrower
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Brick Break

MixMence, we all know this beast. I chose Brick break over Outrage because I hate to get locked in. Flamethrower is better than Fire blast on a MixMence because of accuracy and a 1% coverage drop according to X-Act's Excel sheet. Roost helps me shake off my Life orb and Stealth rock damage, and because Salamence is fragile, he needs to keep his HP up. Salamence and Latias are the center of this team and I would prefer if them, along with Gyarados would stay.

Spr_4p_392.png

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk/192 Spe/252 SpA or 252Atk/4Def/252Spe
Naive nature (+Spe, -SpD) /Jolly nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Close Combat / Mach Punch
- Fire Blast / Fire punch
- Grass Knot /Swords dance
- Hidden Power [Ice] /ThunderPunch / Stone edge

What's a offensive team without Infernape? Infernape is my late mid-game sweeper. He takes out most slow Pokemon, with a bucketload of things OHKO'd by it. Infernape has a great resistance to steel, something all fast frail sweepers want. I could try Nasty plot, but I rarely have time to use it. EVs are regular, but maybe I should bump up to 196Speed to outspeed other Infernape running the same spread. Latias could prove troublesome, but I haven't found many yet.

Spr_4p_479W.png

Rotom-W@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro pump
- Shadow Ball
- Trick

Trick Rotom is my answer to Gyarados, Lucario, and Calm mind/Curse/Bulk uppers. It has good synergy with Infernape, taking out Specs Starmies if my Scizor has fallen. Fire+Electric+Ghost has perfect coverage, I think, without counting Tyranitar. He lacks power, but Trick more or less makes up for it. To check most threats to Offense I felt that I was forced to use Scarf. If there is any other way to maintain a good Offense, and be Bulkier, while checking DDGyarados and Lucario, feel free to let me know.

Ok rate/hate/steal!

I don't see any real problems with your team, it looks pretty solid. Though I do think Latias would benefit more from Leftovers than Life Orb, seeing as it's your status absorber and you want it to last for the whole battle. Also maybe Dragon Pulse > Draco Meteor for the ability to fire off more attacks without SAtk drops. That's just my preference though, Draco Meteor is alright.

In my experience, most metagross leads just explode right away rather then letting Gyara taunt them, so I prefer Protect on him. It depends who your playing against though, so if you have no problems with that then don't worry about it. I'd go with what locopoke suggested for Latias, but like he said it's your call. Starmie could be a bit of a problem though, as with Hydro Pump it can put a decent dent in even Scizor and Rotom. You should be able to handle it, but it's something you should be aware of.

Starmie isn't a that much of a threat with Latias' defense and Rotom's revenge kills, but i'll watch out for one.

If a timid Starmie has max SAtk, it's Ice Beam will do 55-65 percent with Expert belt or 60-71 to Latias. And Hydro Pump will do 54-64 percent to Rotom with Expert Belt do 71-83 percent with Life Orb just so you know. With Surf it does significantly less damage though, only rarely managing a 2HKO with Life Orb. Bulky sets that don't invest significantly in SAtk don't pose much of a threat though.

Leftovers didn't help too much with my hyper-offensive spread, so I don't think i'll use it until I find an offensive-but bulky spread.

Ok really nice RMT you seem to have the majority of threats covered, there is very little for me to suggest though i wish i could but you need to find a way of fitting Stealth Rock on the team. I know Gyarados is a cool lead but maybe an Swampert/Azelf lead could replace it, bottom line you desperately need Stealth Rock. You also need to be aware of bulky calm minders like Suicune. However, more importantly you have a really nasty weakness to Jolteon. Either the Specsed or the Charge Beam boost version can and will run through you. Another special attacker that will also utterly rape you is Agility Empoleon. Though luckily for you these threats are fairly uncommon though their popularit is rising.

What i suggest you use to stop this tactic is change your Infernape into the SD sweeper version famed for its ability to rampage through stall. You will need to opt for Mach Punch as it is key for taking on both Empoleon and Jolteon here which the extra priority is also nice too.

Infernape @ Life Orb
Nature: Jolly/Adamant
EV's:252atk/252speed
Swords Dance
Fire Punch/Flare Blitz
Mach Punch
Stone Edge/Thunderpunch

You will battle a little against stall team's with Swampert but you have more than enough to damage it so Infernape can sweep.

Finally I strongly urge you to consider using a Rotom-W over the inferior Rotom-H. Rotom-H only really provides you with insurance against Scizor who ape can easily handle. Overheat also allows you to easily be pursuited by ttar or set up on by Salamence. Hydro Pump on the otherhand hits with consistent damage is unresisted when paired with Tbolt and Shadow ball and also nails Heatran and a CB Tyranitar who is nearly 2HKO'ed. This ensures you are unlikely to be pursuited and therefor you can live to revenge kill otherwise Gyarados may have a field day. Also the sprite is far cooler =P.

Enjoy using the Fire-Ape and the Washing-Wachine-Menace if you choose to accept my propsed change.

Good Luck.

He mentioned jolteon but also a scarfed dos will not only outrun your Lead gyrados and one shot it, but can OHKO-2HKO alot of your team besides latias.

Zapdos has been meh really. Ill try SD Nape and I'll just add Washer.
Thanks for the rates.

Does Jirachi sound good to you?

Your team looks solid. In my opinion, you don't really need Psycho Shift on Latias if it's mainly there for Blissey. Every single one of your pokemon at the moment cripples Blissey in some way, so if you feel like you can afford it I would go with Dragon Pulse over Psycho Shift.

If you want a replacement for Scizor that deals a lot of damage, but can still take on Latias and Cresselia, I have 2 possible suggestions. One is to keep your Scizor, however change it to this set:

Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 216 HP/100 Atk/192 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit / Light Screen
- U-turn
- Roost

This is the set that I used to use in Ubers all the time (although that was before Bullet Punch) specifically to deal with Latias. U-turn will easily OHKO Latias (2HKO on Max HP / Def Cresselia) and with the SpDef EVs and Roost, you can easily switch in many times throughout the match. The other pokemon you could add, although I don't like it as much in this team due to its ability, is this:

Tyranitar (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 148 HP/224 Atk/96 SAtk/40 SDef
Brave nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Crunch
- Fire Blast / Stone Edge / Stealth Rock

You can switch into 3 LO Latias's Draco Meteors most of the time (30% 2HKO), and you hit a LOT of stuff hard. It's a really usful set, but I don't like sandstream with all of your LO users. Though it is still an option to consider if you want.

I have found Infernape to be weak to Salamence, and Swampert so I will use
MixApe until I get more opinions.
Is Jirachi>Gyarados a good idea?

You might want to strongly consider Adamant nature on Infernape it lets it do a lot more to a stall team with it. I also suggest you have SR otherwise ape is basically never going to sweep. Add swampert if you choose to if not just stick with mix ape.
Hope this helped.
