This is my first real attempt at building an RU team. I've been interested in the tier ever since 2015, but I've only gotten back into it recently when Mega Steelix and Tyrantrum were banned. I think it's a really cool tier, and I'd love to build a team around it. So here's my first attempt.
This is the mega I built my team around. I've always loved Mega Camerupt, it has such a cool typing and moveset, and ability. If only it was faster. This is the major wallbreaker on my team. It can destroy unsuspecting pokemon with it's sheer power, even nabbing some kills on water types who think they can easily switch in. It's one of my favorite pokemon and one of the strongest members of my team. It also sets up rocks, which is just useful in general.
Now, Mega Camerupt hates water types with a passion. I thought about running Jellicent due to water absorb, but I found that Alomomola also helps another member of my team way more than Jellicent does, so I decided to run this thing instead. It can tank hits for Mega Camerupt and pass it huge wishes if it's health gets low.
Finishing off the Fire, Water, Grass core, we have Abomasnow. Together, Mega Camerupt and abomasnow have amazing coverage, and the capacity to break through many different team combinations. And while the set I chose does lack reliable recovery, it's offset by th wishes Alomomola passes to it.
The first half of my secondary offensive core, we have sneasel. Sneasel hits 361 speed when fully invested, already outspeeding the fast majority of the metagame, but when you slap on a Choice Band it becomes a total offensive powerhouse. Pursuit allows me to deal with the multitude of annoying ghost types running around the tier, and destroy any Hoopa that thinks it's allowed to get a kill. It's fast and strong, and one of the most valued members of my team.
The second half of my secondary offensive core. Medicham's attack stat goes over 400 due to pure power, and combined with a Choice Scarf to outspeed many threats, Medicham is a destructive wallbreaker with a typing that perfectly complements sneasel. High Jump Kick Destroys almost anything that doesn't resist it, and with sneasel destroying any ghost types that try to switch in, Medicham can freely use it's most powerful attack.
Finally, my team needed hazard control. Flygon is the best defogger in the tier, and the offensive variant allows me to keep up the pressure against hazard-setters. Not much else to say about this guy: it clears away hazards and is a total powerhouse.
