Kommo-o's time in OU started with two opposing sets—a specially defensive set meant for stall and a Belly Drum one meant for hyper offense. Kommo-o has settled into a midground with this new set, which uses its unique suite of resistances to set Stealth Rock versus top OU Pokemon while providing the ability to sweep late-game. It's the best of both worlds!
This set gives offensive teams a potent check to Heatran, Ferrothorn, Ash-Greninja, and Tyranitar that can set Stealth Rock. The threat of a Clangorous Soulblaze alone can lure in Fairy-types, so pair this set with another Pokemon checked by Fairy-types so that one can break for the other. Ash-Greninja is a great example, as it can weaken Magearna and Tapu Fini or use weakened ones to transform. Kommo-o's average Speed tier means that Tapu Lele is a huge danger, so Steel-types like Magearna and Celesteela form a natural pair with it. Hard hitters like a Tapu Lele of your own support Kommo-o's sweep and can erase counters like Toxapex.
