This Team is a draft i'm working on to replace my current primary team. The idea is to lay out Sticky Web the give my sweepers an easier time setting up.
Ill list the team, then the strengths, then the weaknesses. I'm posting this more for help with the drafting and to get help patching up its weaknesses rather than posting this as a final product. Ev's not specified during drafting process. Sweepers will for the most part be standard 252 atk/sp atk, 252 hp. Other members I don't know an appropriate spread yet.
Here's the team so far-
1. Galvantula@Focus Sash (Timid- Compound Eyes)
- Sticky Web
- Volt Switch
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
2. Bisharp@Black Glasses (Adamant- Defiant)
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
3. Charizard@Charizardite X (Adamant- Tough Claws)
- Fire Punch/Flareblitz
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake/Roost
4. Gengar@Life Orb (Timid- Levitate)
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Wave
- Dazzling Gleam
5. Latias@Leftovers (Modest- Levitate)
- Healing Wish
- Draco Meteor
- Defog
- Hidden Power Fire
6. Azumarill@Assault Vest (Adamant- Huge Power)
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
*** Usage-
1. Galvantula- usually leads unless I see another hazard setter that will probably go out first, then I would send something else out since I only have defog to clear their hazards and don't want to clear webs.
Galvantula sets up Sticky Web to allow Bisharp and Charizard to setup and outspeed alot of threats. Especially helping Bisharp who benefits from the speed loss of the opposing team.
Galvantula can either then volt switch out, or if sash isn't brken, help KO a boosted threat late game.
Bug Buzz is nice stab and hits through barriers. Thunder's accuracy is boosted by compound eyes, but seems to miss A LOT on showdown even with it's new 91 accuracy. Maybe Showdown isn't adding compound eyes accuracy boost for some reason?
2. Bisharp- one of the most dangerous pokemon on this set. He likes to come in after webs are up and setup swords dance on a predicted switch since he scares off a lot of pkmn.
Iron Head is great stab and wrecks fairies since he's usually SD boosted and faster with webs. Sucker Punch is somewhat reliable priority, and it's awesome that people know he has it, because it usually allows him to boost another swords dance when they try to punk out my sucker punch by not attacking.
Knock off is good stab and hurts switch ins.
Also, defiant pairs nicely with Galvantula's sticky web as he gains a boost when the enemy team tries to defog.
3. Charizard- A monster of a pkmn with very unique typing and an awesome ability in Tough Claws.
He likes to Dragon Dance when he scares off pkmn on predicted switch outs, and his naturally good speed paired with D-Dance boost and sticky web makes him difficult for a lot of pokemon to outspedd (minus some scarfed and priority users).
I can't decide between using Fire Punch and Earthquake for coverage since heatran is rather common and I hate to switch out after a D-Dance boost, or using Flareblitz and Roost for great power and sustainability.
Dragon Claw is standard stab and wrecks after D-Dance, Stab, and Tough Claws.
4. Gengar- He's a great teammate in general. He spinblocks for Galvantula, and his weakness are covered well by Bisharp. His Ground, Normal, Fighting, and Poison immunities allow him a great number of switch in opportunities.
He's fast and hits hard with his Stabs and life orb.
Shadow Ball and Sludge Wave are reliable stab; while Dazzling Gleam catches alot of dragons off guard.
Focus Blast is great coverage, but it's accuracy is pitiful.
5. Latias- A really nice bulky defogger. Healing Wish is great and a lot of times unexpected. It has brought poisoned red hp Char X back to life many times.
Defog clears hazards, while Draco Meteor gives it a nice stab to prevent it from being a sitting duck.
Hidden Power Fire is another move people forget about when I'm battling and makes dent's in steel types hoping for a draco meteor.
Leftover's is really nice on this set and Latias's great bulk puts it to use.
Her typing allows tanking alot of special attacks and evn a number of physical ones.
6. Azumarill- The water rabbit is so nice on this team. Sticky Web allows it to outspeed alot of threat and bash them with its stabs. Aqua Jet is nice priority and stab boosted.
Assault Vest pairs great with this thing and it can take some big hits, while also tanking any incoming dragon attacks.
*** The problems-
1. This team currently has no fighting moves on it except Gengar's unreliable special attacking focus blast. Snorlax, Blissey, and Chansey have been trouble for this team, along with other pokemon I haven't fought yet.
2. This team just generally seems like it could be more balanced. It has some great synergy going for it already, but it could be better. (Tips?)
3. The team is very offensive and stall teams have been trouble. I rely heavily on my prediction skill to win against bulky stall teams.
4. I don't have enough (Or any?) Status spreaders, and I generally lack a diversity of moves. The boosters are great but there's a lot of great moves in the metagame I'm not capitalizing on.
5. I have Galvantula for Web, but feel like a lot of my team is too speedy to really benefit from it. From a different perspective however, it allows my speedy pkmn to outpace threats that would otherwise be faster or speed tie. (Opinions on this?)
6. Scarfed Latios has been F*%$&#G this team up something fierce, due to my typing, and lack of ice priority or lack of my own fast scarf users. Pursuit on Bisharp comes to mind, But it;'s risky when HP Fire is running Rampant and Lati's are scared off as easily anymore.
7. Not really a problem, but Weavile would be another cool pkmn to have on the team. Bisharp seems to do a better job considering they do about the same thing, but Swords Dance, Ice Shard, Ice Punch, Knock Off Weavile is an interesting thought.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My basic goal is to have great synergy, use as many different types as possible while repeating types as little as possible, and having a team of mixed style pokemon who can at the minimum give every team it goes against a good fight.
I'm open to removing certain pokemon in order to add others. Priority of who I want o stay on in order of importance goes like this- Galvantula, Gengar, Charizard, Azumarill, Bisharp, Latias. Latias being least favored.
Don't pull your punches. I consider myself to be pretty informed on Battling and Strategy, but there are countless players on this site who I truly respect and are a great deal better than myself at Pokemon. I'd appreciate any opinions and tips from these veterans along with anyone else who see's a flaw or potential strength i'm not currently capitalizing on.
Please let other members know about this RMT after you've finished leaving feedback on it. I plan for this team to be my "Go-To" Primary for a long time to come.
-Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this whole analysis I have of my current draft team. I appreciate any and all comments regarding how I can make this lineup as balanced and dangerous as possible.
