Set Description
=========
Swords Dance Rillaboom is a vicious wallbreaker thanks to its good coverage and access to a strong priority move in Grassy Glide. Grassy Glide is capable of immediate monstrous damage with a boost from both Grassy Terrain and Life Orb, OHKOing Urshifu-R and Choice Band Tyranitar while putting immense pressure on Pokemon like Tapu Fini and Slowbro. Knock Off allows Rillaboom to punish Flying-type Pokemon like Corviknight, Zapdos, and Tornadus-T that may want to switch on it by removing their items, exposing the latter two's Stealth Rock weakness while hindering the defensive utility of the former by either harming its longevity or removing its ability to punish contact moves. Superpower nails Steel-types like Melmetal, Heatran, and Ferrothorn that may feel comfortable coming in on Grassy Glide, OHKOing them at +2, while also being an excellent form of neutral coverage to hit foes like Corviknight and Galarian Moltres. Adamant is mainly used for the general power boost; however, a Jolly nature lets Rillaboom outspeed the likes of Urshifu-R and Tapu Lele without Speed-boosting natures. Life Orb gives Rillaboom an extra boost in power, guaranteeing an OHKO on Garchomp and Landorus-T with +2 Grassy Glide and a 2HKO on Skarmory with +2 Superpower.
Team Options
========
Swords Dance Rillaboom fits best on offense teams to help overwhelm common defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Melmetal, and Heatran. Other offensive Pokemon such as Weavile and Zeraora threaten Flying-types like Zapdos and Tornadus-T that check Rillaboom. In return, Rillaboom can assist in overwhelming common shared checks like defensive Heatran and Melmetal. Additionally, Weavile heavily appreciates Rillaboom threatening bulky Water-types like Toxapex and Tapu Fini, making its cleaning ability much stronger late-game. Heatran, Volcanion, and Urshifu-R lure in Water-types like Slowbro, Gastrodon, and Tapu Fini, giving Rillaboom the chance to switch in and force them out. In return, these Pokemon can overwhelm Steel-types like Corviknight, Melmetal, and Heatran, which would otherwise discourage using Grassy Glide. Entry hazard setters like Landorus-T, Heatran, and Garchomp can provide chip damage and wear down common checks to Rillaboom such as Zapdos, Tornadus-T, Buzzwole, and Dragonite. Additionally, these Pokemon all boast access to other useful utility moves like Toxic and Knock Off, further wearing down the aforementioned Pokemon. Heatran in particular synergizes amazingly with Rillaboom, heavily appreciating Rillaboom's Grassy Terrain reducing the power of Earthquake and providing additional longevity while being able to threaten common checks to Rillaboom like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Buzzwole. Magnezone is another solid offensive partner, removing Steel-types like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Ferrothorn that would otherwise check Rillaboom.
