So, I think that I've made a decent offensive team for OU, and I just wanted to make sure that it did look good, because you guys are so great and I love all of you. So, I'd love feedback, as usual, and thanks so much!
Team Preview--
Pillow (Garchomp) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Fire Fang
Since I really don't have a designated "lead," I'll just start with my first true wallbreaker. This is garchomp (to whom I used to be afraid of), and so far, he's worked pretty well. He used to have a life orb, but since then, I've changed him out so that a pokemon trying to hit him will take plenty of residual damage (Really to counter Kangaskhan). He's my best counter to Mega Kangaskhan since he makes it take plenty of residual damage, and most of my other pokemon are hurt bad by the mega.
Mr. Fluffy Stuff (Arcanine) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Morning Sun
Arcanine is pretty new to this team, since he replaced my choice scarf victini. He's designed mainly to revenge kill and force out some major threats to Gyarados, since he can Flare Blitz them to smitherines or hit them hard with CC. I like him to be fast, but I gave him morning sun to last a little while and do more damage.
Steven (Aegislash) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 HP / 126 Atk / 126 SAtk
Hasty Nature
- Iron Head
- Sacred Sword
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
This is one of the aces up my sleeve on this team, and why I was hesitant to have people rate this team... Choice Scarf Aegislash is unpredictable and regularly can tear through 1-3 pokemon before he's taken down. His typing is great, so he's hard to revenge kill, and the choice scarf lets me outspeed common defensive threats that "think" they can outspeed and kill. I like the mixed part of his set, but at the same time, I'm thinking of pumping more EVs into his special attack, since he does use Shadow Ball and HP Fire more often than Iron Head and Sacred Sword.
Angelo (Roserade) (F) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Aromatherapy
Roserade is my cleric in the team. I found myself being beaten by Gastrodon a little too much, and toxic was killing my gyarados too quickly for it to pull a really successful sweep, so I took on this Roserade. She works well, being a bulky offensive pokemon, and has enough support to keep the members on the team who want to stay alive for a long time alive.
Chaz (Espeon) (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Morning Sun
- Psychic
I guess Espeon is the glue of my team. She's really the only pokemon who is not designed to attack anyone, but rather, set up screens and let the sweeper take over. She's a really great asset to the team, though I may easily trade her for a good offensive rapid spinner. The only problem is that the only available one is Starmie, and I'm not a huge fan of her.
Marshmallow (Gyarados) (F) @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
Finally, Gyarados is the sweeper on this team. He's scary, and he's big. I love using him as a sweeper, but really, toxic is one of his biggest weaknesses. That, and he's slow. I like his typing, ability, and stats, and everything, and when he gets started, this guy does not like to stop for anyone, and paired with garchomp and arcanine, and I really like its support functions.
Pokemon this team has trouble with--
Mega Kangaskhan-- Who doesn't? With an offensive team like this, I can't really do any residual damage against him, have trouble with the sucker punch, and Kangaskhan is too bulky for this team to successfully hurt. Garchomp is the best counter, but it involves sacrificing my Garchomp in the process so I can revenge kill with Arcanine. Which is unlikely.
Gliscor/Landorus-- My lack of Ice type moves doesn't help the team very much. My best counter would be my roserade, and that isn't a "great" counter
Gastrodon-- If I lose my Roserade, this pokemon can stall out the rest of everything.
Gengar-- This guy is pretty fast and normally outspeeds my Aegislash. My best would to mega evolve Gyarados and hit him with a boosted Earthquake (Since dark resists ghost.) But since Gengar usually carries Thunderbolt, this strategy is a risky take.
That's all I can think of at the moment... so far this team has held its own on pokemon showdown, and I'm hoping to make it better. As you can see, I made a poll to rate my team, and I'd appreciate if you did that too! Thanks!
