Official Smogon Leagues??

PS leagues are fun, but can sometimes just be a stick in the mud, and management isn't always the best. Now, don't get me wrong, there are some fantastic leagues that I've had the privilege to be in, but I think Smogon has the capacity to create official leagues, run by Smogon moderators or admins. It would be a good way to get the community together, and get people more involved, and have league vs. league tournaments. Just an idea, what are your thoughts?

Hey, welcome to Smogon! Be sure to check out the rules and whatnot. Thanks for having a legible first post. While the potential for a nigh-unbeatable league of Smogon's best is appealing and certainly there, most of Smogon's organized battling is through tournaments. I don't have the authority to say it'll never happen, but I've heard it'll never happen. While the average Joe might want it, organizing so many people would likely be a pain, league spots would be in high contention and would probably cause drama when someone's picked over someone else, and the only probably reward for such a thing would be a badge saying you beat down Smogon's best. Assuming Smogon's best were willing to do this- people have lives, and if Smogon had an official league, people would be queuing up by the dozens, I expect.
