Haven't really used Ogerpon-C much this gen, even though ive always felt like it was quite the threat most of the time I would play against it, specifically the Swords Dance set. Decided to build a team around it, and I managed to ladder up into the top 5 with it.

Teambuilding

I wanted to utilize sturdy, as it allows for Ogerpon to setup, or take hits in a pinch, which makes it a lot harder to deal with. Hatterene is great at preventing rocks from going up, and is just a solid pick in general.

Ogerpon-C doesn't resist many types, so it can be hard for it to come in. I wanted something that can take on Zamazenta, and could help with pivoting. I ended up going with Pecharunt here.

Needed a flying type and a ground type. I picked Landorus as it can help pivot alongside Pecharunt, and could help set rocks. It also provides a decent soft check to Kingambit.

Kingambit and Ogerpon-C have similar checks such as Landorus, Zamazenta, and Corviknight. The two pair well nicely together, as they can overwhelm these checks together. Kingambit also provided a valuable steel and ghost resist to the team, as well as some priority.

A bit more of a niche pick, but I ended up going with Latios. I wanted something that can help in the sun matchup, and could provide speed control. Latios has a speed stat 1 higher than Walking Wake, which lets it outrun and KO it even under sun. Latios also provides an extra ground immunity for the team.
Sets and Alternatives

Ogerpon-Cornerstone (F) @ Cornerstone Mask
Ability: Sturdy
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Power Whip
- Ivy Cudgel
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
I went with double STAB + SD for breaking and sweeping capabilities. The last slot is usually a toss up between Low Kick and Knock Off. I ended up going with Knock Off, as I liked being able to hit Gholdengo and Iron Crown. There is also no other Knock Off user on the team so I settled on using Knock over Low Kick (Low Kick can still work with this team though).

Hatterene @ Assault Vest
Ability: Magic Bounce
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 52 SpA / 144 SpD / 60 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draining Kiss
- Psychic Noise
- Mystical Fire
- Nuzzle
I ended up going with a pretty standard Assault Vest set for Hatterene. I chose Psychic Noise over Psyshock as I prefer to limit the healing from Gliscor and Garganacl, although Psyshock is a viable option still. The SpDef evs allow Hatterene to survive a Tachyon Cutter from a Choice Specs Iron Crown (without tera). Hatterene is important for dealing with special attackers, and preventing hazards from going up.

Pecharunt @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Poison Puppeteer
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 44 SpD / 28 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Malignant Chain
- Shadow Ball
- Parting Shot
- Recover
Pecharunt is the physical tank of the team, allowing for you to switch in on Zamazenta and Ogerpon-W. I run enough speed to outrun Jolly Kingambit, as well as Lando running zero speed Evs. The SpDef evs lower the chance of getting 2HKOd by Tera Fairy Specs Enamorus Moonblast down to around 20%. I chose fairy as the tera type, as it is a solid type without many weaknesses. Tera fairy lets you resist dark type moves from Samurott and Zamazenta in a pinch, without becoming weak to CC from Zama. It can also let you stop Draco Meteors from RB, Walking Wake, and Dragapult when needed. Other viable tera types on this team are Dark, Water, and Ghost.

Landorus-Therian @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Taunt
Landorus rounds out the bulky pivoting core. I run a pretty standard supporting Landorus set here. I run enough speed to outrun adamant Rillaboom and adamant Dragonite. The rest of the EVs go into HP and defense to help take hits from Kingambit, Cinderace and Zamazenta more efficiently. Tera water helps resist fire moves and (some) ice moves in a pinch.

Kingambit @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Kowtow Cleave
- Low Kick
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
I run a standard swords dance set with Kingambit. I go with Low Kick over Iron Head because the team lacks reliable fighting type coverage, and Low Kick is extremely important when up against opposing Kingambit. Tera Ghost helps you become immune to fighting and removes your other important weaknesses (ground, fire). Kingambit will likely be closing out most games you play with this team.

Latios @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Luster Purge
- Aura Sphere
- Trick
Choice Scarf Latios rounds out the team, providing speed control and an extra ground type immunity. I run a normal dual stab + fighting coverage. You can run Psychic Noise over Luster Purge if you would like, but I prefer having the extra power and SpDef drop effect. Trick provides anti stall tech, and can cripple sweepers like Dragonite and Raging Bolt. Tera steel is good as it allows you to resist ice and fairy types. Levitate lets you check some variants of Kyurem as you maintain your ground immunity.
Threats

The team lacks a reliable switch in to Garganacl, but you can usually beat Garg by pressuring it with Landorus, Ogerpon, Latios and Hatterene. Depending on the matchup, it can be worth taking a lot of damage in order to remove Garg. This matchup can be difficult, but I faced Garg a lot and managed to win most of them.

These special electric types can be difficult, as Hatterene can get worn down by them, while Landorus doesn't enjoy taking hits. For Rotom and Zapdos, it is best you pressure them with Ogerpon C and Latios. Specs Raging Bolt can be played around with good pivoting between Landorus, Hatterene, and Latios, although it can be tough a lot of the time. Calm Mind variants are less scary, as Hatterene and Lando can take hits more comfortably, and Latios can trick it without taking as much damage.

Despite all the Kingambit measures I have, this matchup can still be tough, as unpredictable tera types and coverage can mess you up still. Make sure to scout out Teras before using Low Kick with Kingambit, and make sure Landorus stays healthy, as the Rocky Helmet chip damage adds up over time.

Very strong specs special attackers can be tough for this team, as the resist (Kingambit), will take a lot from these. It is best that you use proper Teras on Hatterene, keep Sturdy on Ogerpon, or keep Kingambit healthy in order to reliably keep these guys in check. There should be some replays of me playing against some of them.
