Why i made this team:
Basically my brother wanted an Ubers team and he wouldn't eat lunch w/ me until i gave him an ubers team, so i did what anyone would do.... I made a team in 5 minutes. I just gave him a random team that looked decent to satisfy him.
Team building: None i made the team in 5 minutes.
The team:
Groudon @ Lum Berry
Trait: Drought
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake- Powerful STAB attack + 252 Atk EV's = X_X (that's supposed to be a "fainted" Pokemon with the eyes being X's and all)
- Dragon Tail- Good phazing move, catches Giratina's wanting to switch in on EQ's
- Stone Edge- Makes good coverage with EQ, makes you think twice about switching into Groudon with flying pokemon.
- Fire Punch- The final move slot is used to take out forrestress' and ferrothorns.
Importance: The weather starter is always important. I just threw on EV's that reminded me of a Swampert set i used. Groudon manages to net a few kills en route to winning the weather war which is helpful. The Lum berry allows Groudon to absorb initial Will-o-wisps and strike back how i see fit.
Latias (F) @ Soul Dew
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 156 HP / 60 SAtk / 80 SDef / 212 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse- Good stab attack that hits reliably. I like.
- Hidden Power [Fire]- Dragon pulse lures out steel types that hidden power fire can take care of.
- Recover- Allows Latias to last annoyingly long for the opponent. Latias is so threatening to almost every team, so keeping her healthy is super nice.
- Roar- If i ever see a substitute up or a calm mind under a pokemon's belt, i use roar. It helps against CM mewtwo for example:
Importance: My Kyogre check for the team: Not many pokes can live two Specs Waterspouts, but with Latias i can take the hit, and use dragon pulse to make the water spout weaker. Latias can wall pretty much everything on the special side that isnt super effective, and depending on the pokemon, wall super effective attacks as well. I'm not sure about the EV's i porbably copied somewhere
Heatran (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock- They say it is the best move in the game, so i use it.
- Toxic- Sometimes can surprise the enemy, good when the opponent is forced to switch into pokemon such as Kyogre.
- Roar- Good for damaging the team when rocks are up.
- Lava Plume- The extra sun boost is appreciated. It does quite a bit, along with the 30 percent burn. Nothing better than burning SD Arceus'
Importance: Obviously he sets up rocks, but he also can absorb the special attacks latias is weak to like dragon and ice. (Basically Kyurem W). The Lava plume burning can also make the difference in a game. I used heatran in the beginning because i remember playing one and thinking, "Heatran walls a ton of my pokes woah," and it works for me. The EV's are just to make heatran as specially defensive as possible.
Tentacruel (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def /
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rapid Spin- Rapid spin those rocks that annoy ho-oh so much. Also for epic rapid spin kills.
- Toxic Spikes- really good for this team. Since i have no real counter/check to Arceus, toxic spikes and weaken Arceus until my own Arceus could revenge kill it with Espeed. Also they are toxic spikes so it is nice to cripple a ton of pokes.
- Ice Beam- Randomly put it in, haven't really used it.
- Knock Off- How do you know this team was made in 5 minutes? When Tentacruel used magic coat for the majority of the battles, until i switched it for knock off. Still, hasn't been really effective:
Importance: Really needed to spin hazards + lay toxic spikes, and i like the poison typing. Aside from that, i would go as far as say he hinders the team. I could say the EV's are made for Blaziken's and what not, but i just made it defensive because i needed defense.
Ho-Oh @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Atk / 32 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute-Because i like toy that replaces Ho-oh when using substitute
- Recover- Keeps Ho-oh alive, especially if there is rocks down against me.
- Sacred Fire- STAB + SUN = OUCH. Does a ton of damage to anything that doesnt resist it.
- Brave Bird- Ho-oh has super strong STAB attacks with very high attack, brave bird 2HKO's so many pokemon it's a joke:
Importance: Good for poking holes in teams, particularly after i win the weather war. Ho-oh has looked like a boss ever since i played Pokemon Colosseum. His is a boss with the massive special defense and can set up subs really easily and weaken the enemy.
Arceus @ Silk Scarf
Trait: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance- Power over 9000!!!!!!. Swords dance makes arceus with espeed super powerful. I love this set.
- ExtremeSpeed- OP attack is OP, i love this attack. Even before i set up, it allows to me to clean up weakened threats. Then, after a boost, they better hope they have giratina.
- Brick Break-Coverage
- Shadow Claw- Coverage
Final Notes:
- I understand that i have a lot of pokemon with fire type attacks, but it is a sun team, fire attacks do a lot in the sun.
- I don't know how i am doing so well with the team, but obviously a team like this will have problems that better players can help me fix.
- Thanks for reading
