Oh my, offense for everyone! [ OU RMT ]

Yes, I've made Stall teams, and Offensive teams, but 2 out of 3 of my RMTs here were Stall. Therefore, I shall strike a balance and make 1 more RMT for offense, making the style of play not feel mediocre to stall in my terms.

By the way...

~ The In-Depth Coverage

heatran.png

Heatran @ Choice Specs
Modest [ +Sp.Atk, -Atk ]
32 HP / 224 Spe / 252 Sp.Atk
- Fire Blast
- Dragon Pulse
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock

Comments:

~ Choice Specs Heatran is an absolute beast, equipped with excellent coverage and a powerful 120 BP STAB move.

The last moveslot is basically filler, so its not like I need Explosion. Stealth Rock is very important in this metagame, helping score OHKOs which would otherwise not do aforementioned KO, and other things.

Fire Blast will be fired everywhere, basically, I spam it. ^_^ Dragon Pulse pretty much covers the Dragons which this set otherwise despises, while Earth Power deals with other Heatran, who would otherwise wall this set, need I say more? ;)

azelf.png

Azelf @ Life Orb

Naive [ +Spe, -Sp.Def ]
36 Atk / 252 Spe / 220 Sp.Atk
- Psychic
- Fire Blast
- Explosion
- U-Turn

Comments:

~ Life Orb was a dream come true for many Sweepers, and Azelf was not excluded from that group.

Explosion is a very powerful move, and is the only way Azelf without Nasty Plot and a bit of luck can break Blissey and Snorlax, so no, it shall never be removed. =)

U-Turn is very lovely for scouting while still getting in a "light hit", it also hits Tyranitar, take that Tyranitar!

Fire Blast helps patch up that 36 EV difference, and in fact, the power upgrade does more then that, it does a bit more damage to pretty much everything, oh how I love it that way.

s_celebi.png

Celebi @ Life Orb
Timid [ +Spe, -Atk ]
36 Def / 220 Spe / 252 Sp.Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power Ground
- Psychic
- Recover

Comments:

~ Again, this is why I'm freaked out when I make offensive teams, so far 2 Life Orbs, including this one, and 1 Choice Specs. :/

Hidden Power Ground is my final decision. Why? Well, Heatran are very common switch ins to Celebi, therefore I laugh at their pitiable souls and smash them into oblivion. :)

Imagine Leaf Storm this way: A rather weak copy of Draco Meteor, with tons more Pocket Monsters that resist it. :(

Psychic laughs at Poison-types and Heracross, so no, don't even try to bring it in on me. ^_^

"But but, Life Orb recoil is an issue!" Don't even go there... Do you see that last move called "Recover"? Well, it negates that issue.

snorlax.png

Snorlax @ Choice Band
Thick Fat
Adamant [ +Atk, -Sp.Atk ]
160 HP / 124 Atk / 224 Sp.Def
- Return
- Selfdestruct
- Crunch
- Earthquake

Comments:

~ Snorlax has been a very rare Pocket Monster to use Choice Band, but it sure is good at doing it. Selfdestruct with STAB, and that massive Atk is nothing to shove away. I feel that this will want all the power it can get, hence Return is here. Crunch and EQ give above average coverage, and Return pretty much laughs at Heracross, the only resist of this combo if I remember correctly.

heracross.png

Heracross @ Choice Band
Guts
Adamant [ +Atk, -Sp.Atk ]
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge
- Toxic

Comments:

~ Yes yes, I'm using 2 Choice Bands. I just can't resist the power that come from these two. =/

Toxic goes "lol" at Gliscor, basically, Gliscor is a little boy who got smacked around with a mop that had poison on it. ^_^

Stone Edge also smacks Salamence and Gyarados over and over again, I always love using it on them. I'm so evil, I should stop playing Pocket Monsters for a while. ;_;

Close Combat and Megahorn, are the main dish of this set, best served with Guts, smacking anything not called Gyarados, Salamence, Gliscor, or Weezing, and Dusknoir, but I find Spiritomb much better than it, so no. ^_^

salamence.png

Salamence @ Life Orb
Rash [ +Sp.Atk, -Sp.Def ]
120 Atk / 176 Spe / 212 Sp.Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Brick Break
- Fire Blast
- Roost

Comments:

~ Mix Mence is arguably the best Salamence set so far, I bet most of you agree, like Aldaron, or was it someone else. :/

Draco Meteor goes "lol" at Gliscor and other popular Physical Walls, while Fire Blast covers Bronzong and the Steel-types, except Heatran which I would say "Screw you" basically with Brick Break, same applies to Snorlax and Blissey. ;)

Roost shaves off all that SS, Stealth Rock and Life Orb damage. Believe me, it adds up really quickly.

So, let's summarize what you've seen so far.

  • 1 Specs Heatran ( The only Choice Specs user on here. :o )
  • 2 Choice Band Pocket Monsters, Heracross and Snorlax (They're too good to resist )
  • 3 Life Orb Pocket Monsters, Celebi, Azelf, and Salamence.
What does this mean? Well, it means I'm screwed if there is Item Clause, but that's so rare. It also means I'd have to predict well with the three Choice Pocket Monsters...

It seems to me that you would benefit much more from Choice Scarf Heracross, more so than the Choice Band varient. I know a revenge-killer isn't absolutely necessary all of the time, by all means, however to ease the tention in the speed department - the team appears to position itself lower than average in the speed area - so you can effectively revenge-kill with Heracross. Let's face it, you have Toxic for pesky Gliscor and any other resistant switch-ins that plan to absorb Heracross' onslaught and pose a threat in return, so power isn't as vital as you may believe. Last but certainly not least, Dragon Dance Tyranitar - which, if I may, is increasing in popularity with the absent Garchomp - manages to fire up a Dragon Dance, then you will be swept without question. However, Choice Scarf Heracross provides you with a way of dealing with that severe problem. Summarizing, I strongly suggest you replace Choice Band with Choice Scarf.

If you insist on keeping Heracross paired with Choice Band, then at least give Snorlax Pursuit over Crunch so you can be sure that Gengar won't continue to cause problems later on. With the team being considerably slow at this moment in time, it only invites fast, durable sweepers to set-up or pose an immediate threat with Life Orb / Expert Belt.

Don't hesitate to follow through with both of these changes.
