Oh Yeah, Just Look at This Catchy Title for a First Time Team (Top 500 Team)

Hello there. This is my first "RMT"; although not my first, nor my most successful team. I'm not new to competitive battling, however I am new to a community that takes it seriously. I Have "lurked" for some time though. That said, it's probably pretty crappy. By my standards however, it's pretty successful, peaking at ~1750 and rising. As it's my weakest team, I wanted some feedback to give the team a helping hand.

At a glance:

Process: I wanted to use DD Charizard X, mainly because I reread The Hobbit recently, and he's a dragon. The goal of the team is to take out or soften up his counters, and switch in safely to get a DD or two off, and proceed to sweep/cripple/clean the rest of the team. I needed something to take priority like Talon, and take down most of Char's checks and counters; Lando-T proved a good tiger for that job. Next I chose OU's biggest horre, because it provides good synergy with Lando and Char, and can tank most special hits. Mixed Kyurem-B is there because he performed very well on my other teams, able to take out Mega-Venu, rotoms, defoggers, smeargles and the like. Haven't had a problem yet. I originally had latias in latios' spot, with healing wish/defog, but the extra bulk didn't give any benefits to my team, and I can be walled by some tanks with latias' limited power. He functions as defogger and sweeper, as well as being able to tank resisted hits reasonably well. I replaced Rotom-W with Aegislash for more power and better coverage for the team. I replaced Latios with Skarmory to give the team much needed bulk, as well as maintaining defog support. I replaced Greninja with scarf Rachi To maintain speed, however it adds longevity to the team with healing with support, and iron head shenanigans. Zard was proving underwhelming on what turned out to be mostly bulky-offense, so I switched it out for the underrated Mega-Jumbo-Shrimp, and seeing as that left incrediably vulernable to electric in general, switched rachi to scarf Thundy-T.

Gyarados-Mega (M) @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate ==> Mold Breaker
EVs: 196 Spd / 64 Atk / 248 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
Man this guy is great. With such phenomenal bulk and attack, second only to mega T-Tar in those regards, he is capable of sweeping weakened teams at the drop of a hat, and even taking a few hits while he's at it. Once his main counters are gone and anything that has Mach Punch or is named Talonflame are/is gone, he is pretty much guaranteed a sweep. With this spread + intimidate you can get +2 on pretty much anything you want without priority or a strong SE move. The only flaw with this guy is that you can't use intimidate after mega-evolving, although you do get a nice ability rendering sturdy, water absorb and levitate useless, abilities that otherwise might hinder your sweep. That and it's crap typing (damn gamefreak had to forgo the dragon typing to make an extra-jumbo jumbo shrimp). I modeled this spread off my old lando-t double-dance set, I'm not sure if it's the best spread for the set, but it has worked out nicely so far.

I like Gyar over Mega-ZardX, Mega T-Tar and mega Lando-T in this spot because Gyar has more bulk, less switch ins, and better stats respectively.
skarmory.gif

Skarmory (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 232 Def / 252 HP / 24 Spd
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Counter
- Roost
- Whirlwind
Defog for the rocks and whatnot. Roost for recovery, whirlwind for setup. Counter for big physical threats and setup mons, stuff like bellyjet azumarill, even ZardXs, if sturdy isn't broken. 0 ATK for that damned foul play. Rocky helmet is the wound physical threats like Talonflame and Azumarill. Gives the team nice synergy Kube, as well as much needed support. Standard EVs.
landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 144 Atk / 248 HP / 116 Def
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rocks
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- U-turn/Stone Edge
Ah lando-T. He cripples most stall mons with knock off, and takes out any thing that lives with that monstrous base 145 attack. SR is Lando's primary goal once the opposing hazard setter and hazards have been removed, but absolutely crucial to put up early if T-Flame, Pinsir or Zard is in the preview, seeing as almost every rapid spinner can be set up on by Gyar, bar scald burns from cheeky Tenta. EQ obligatory STAB. Knock off is for cheeky Gliscors and other such threats. U-turn for momentum, alternatively Stone Edge can be used if you think the team is too pressured by T-Flame, Pinsir and Zards. EV's are so as they prevent Talon from 2hkoing from full after rocks no matter the set. They rest are dumped into attack for power. Lefties so he stays on the field longer.
aegislash.gif

Aegislash @ Spell Tag
Ability: Stance Change
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 240 HP / 16 Atk
Quiet Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Shadow Ball
- Shadow Sneak
- Iron Head
- King's Shield
Mixed Aegi works really well for crippling and killing off many off this teams threats on the switch. Bring him in on a poke your opponent doesn't want to take a Shadow Sneak, Fire off a Shadow Ball and finish it off with Shadow Sneak. Works wonderfully at pressuring switches, racking up damage on the oppsition. Iron Head to catch T-Tar and the like on the switch, Kings Shield is simply essential on all Aegi. EVs to maximize Shadow Ball's damage.
kyurem-black.gif

Kyurem-Black @ Leftovers
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 216 SAtk / 56 HP / 236 Spd
Rash Nature
- Substitute
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Fusion Bolt
Kyurem-B is the perfect anti-meta pokemon. It can easily take out Mega-Venu, Rotom, Heatran, Dragonite, Gliscor, Quags. The list goes on. Aegislash and faster dragons are easy prey from behind a sub. Sub to patch up that terrible defensive typing, fusion bolt for physical damage, ice beam for STAB, earth power rounds out the coverage nicely. EVs give it good speed and attacking stats while maintaining that wonderful 101 subs HP. Lefties for necessary recovery. Wonderful for softening up the enemy team, making Gyar's job easier, as well as giving good bulk to the team.

thundurus-therian.gif

Thundurus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SpDef
Timid Nature
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
Volt Absord, the classic partner for Gyar. This guy provides excellent revenge-killing capabilities against many setup pokes, mainly the Mega-Zards. It shuts down most volt-turn shenanigans, and is just a general stop for anything that counters mega Gyar. It also helps wear down bulky water types, some of the few things that wall mega-Gyar.

Threats:
Conk - To damn bulky, best answer is a well-timed counter from skarm.
Mega Manectric - Good coverage plus a good ability plus volt-turning shenanigans.
Breloom - Spore toxic orb Breloom is a pain to deal with, unless I predict correctly with Kube
Sub Aegi - This uncommon little fellow is too unpredictable to, well, predict, and it can punch holes behind a sub
Cosmic-power Clefable - Skarm down, game over.

3 dragon types. Too many shared weaknesses, including 3 shared dragon weaknesses, 2 ice, 2 dragon, 3 fairy. Start there, clean that up before anything else.

Scarfed Salamence takes dragon sized dumps on this team. You definitely need a steel type pokemon to take the Dragon and Fairy type attacks that destroy your team. I suggest replacing your defogging Latios with a defog skarmory. You also don't have a reliable way to beat fast boosting sweepers like Cloyster, who can pretty much sweep your entire team after a shell smash. (Hint: skarmory). Next, use a Scarfed Keldeo over Greninja with either icy wind or HP ice to deal with rhe dragons that plague this team. It outspeeds all of the said threats to your team and kills or cripples them. Haxorus and Latios can potentially live an HP Ice, but they can be played around. (Hint: Skarmory)AV Conk can take a hit pretty well, but shouldn't be able to do enough in return. I hope my rate was helpful. Good Luck!

This looks like a pretty good team. Fairly good coverage, except weak to some pretty common mega's (Mawile, Scizor, etc).
Just wondering, where did you get the 3D gifs?

Skarm definitely outclasses Lati in that spot, I always forget that thing gets defog. It has moved the team along quite nicely. As for keldeo, I tried, and it just wasn't a good fit, as well as being bait for Mega-Zards when locked into SS or something, which can dent this team up something terrible.

Also updated sets and pokes, replace a few pokes. The team works nice and smooth now. The only in-my-face problem I have now is that Char just isn't pulling his wait around the team - it doesn't seem to have exceptional SYNERGY! (sorry) with the team, when it comes to taking hits on the switch, because if it gets hurt it can't sweep, what with 3 priority users on every team. It often doesn't even hit the field by the time the match is over.

3 steel types? I tell you hwat, the only thing on this team air balloon Heatran doesn't violently assrape is Landorus

Heatran never keeps his balloon, and 3 of my team members can ohko him quite easily, especially with him being so slow. Kyurem-B almost always kills it off with a surprise EP. If anything, Zard Y is the teams biggest offensive threat, unless I have stone edge on lando.

Anyways, this is a Pretty solid team IMO, but I do see that Manetric-Mega and Thundurus-I do take a big dump on alot of your team. A change I would suggest is changing Scarf Jirachi to Scarf Thundurus-T.

Thundurus-T @ Choice Scarf
Volt Absorb
Timid Nature
4 HP/ 252 SpAtk / 252 Speed
-Thunderbolt
-Volt Switch
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power Ice

With Volt Absorb, you place a mental constraint on any opponent carrying Mega Manetric and Thundurus-I. They basically cannot feel free to spam Volt Switch or Thunderwave, and if they do, you can always replenish 25% of your health. It also easily revenge kills Charizard-Y with Thunderbolt. The only thing imo that it lacks from Jirachi is Healing Wish, as well as a Stealth Rocks resistance and Ice weakness. However, it has the perks of having much better immediate power, as well as much more threatening moves to use. As I already mentioned, its ability to prevent Volt Switch spam and Thunder Wave spam is incredibly helpful.

That was what I had originally in rachi's spot, but seeing as I have now switched Zard for Mega-Gyar, it alleviates many problems with electrics in general.
